Britney Spears has taken her Circus across the pond and kicked off the European leg of her tour Wednesday night at London's O2 Arena. But instead of just bringing over the same tour she had Stateside, the singer has some new song remixes of old favorites and some new looks as well.

According to her Web site some of the remixed tracks include "Baby One More Time," "Do Something," "Piece of Me," "I'm a Slave 4 U" and "Womanizer." After the show, Britney Tweeted excitedly, "Just wrapped my first show in London. I love all the remixed tracks and new costumes!"

Although we're sure Spears' loyal fans loved the show, the same can't be said of some of her critics. The reviews are in, and some professional concertgoers described it as dull. The Sun said of Brit's performance, "Madonna is twice her age and does double the dancing." Read More...

Britney Spears kept things sexy as the ringmaster at her Circus tour kickoff in New Orleans Tuesday night. The singer clad herself in fishnets, sparkles and a stone-encrusted bra and corset — and that's nothing out of the ordinary for a woman who has spent most of her career dancing on stages (and in cages) flanked by sweaty, toned men.

(Check out photos of the Circus here.)

These were many of the key elements to which that Britney stayed true when she finally debuted her much anticipated tour. But we noticed a few elements that seemed better suited to other pop stars.

Britney SpearsBritney promised her new Web site would give fans a sneak peek into her life. And her latest video blog post, "Britney Works It Out," does just that, with footage of Brit and her trainer, Seven (yeah, Seven, really), engaged in one of their five-days-a-week workouts. Apparently Britney has also started dance rehearsals "many times per week," but our favorite part of the whole thing is a comment from a fan named "Said," who gushed, "you are so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please visit Kazakhstan on your tour!" Fans from Venezuela, France and Australia also weighed in on Brit's bangin' new body.

It's been a long, strange week for me at MTV News. While many of my co-workers jetted off to L.A. to work on the VMAs, I stayed behind to hold down the fort. A handful of MTV Newsers and I spent all weekend cutting 30-second promos teasing our red-carpet show, a show I was really looking forward to seeing. Why? Because it was supposed to feature a piece I had written.

In the week leading up to the VMAs, I was asked to script a package about Britney Spears and Mariah Carey — neither of whom had ever won a Moonman. It was supposed to showcase the amazing videographies of both Britney and Mariah and play up the rivalry between the two. I spent hours working on the script, and my editor, Lee Dultz, estimates he spent nearly 48 hours over the span of a week carefully crafting a video package worthy of the the VMAs. But when our red-carpet extravaganza aired live, there wasn't enough time to air the video.

Of course, Britney was the big winner at the VMAs this year, taking home trophies for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Video of the Year, while Mariah once again went home empty-handed.

I thought my piece would never see the light of day, but we decided to give it a second chance on the Newsroom blog. So, without further ado, check it out. Britney and Mariah: A tale of two VMA losers.

Okay, from Presidents to Britney Spears. This is why I love my job.

The situation is being constantly updated but here is the latest.

Yes, she deserved to have her kids taken away. Yes, she seems to have lost touch with reality which could make for some bad, bad parenting decisions. But yes, these celebrity blogs, websites, "news" outlets have been nasty. I saw on one website, a poll that asks "Do you think she'll go out tonight?" I read another article, where the writer called her a gum snappin, panty-less slut.

Wow.

Can Britney ever come back from this......? I mean as a performer? As a mother? As someone who people will root for? By the sounds of the viewing audience, things are looking really bad......understatement of the year.

Xoxo

"It's 10 o'clock and I feel the VMA week has officially begun." Those were the words of VP of MTV News Ocean MacAdams - a 10-year VMA veteran. And what a way to start the day.

It's official, people - Britney Spears is making a comeback!

After what was quite possibly the worst-kept secret in VMA history, we finally confirmed Thursday that Britney Spears is going to open the VMAs with her first-ever live performance of her new single "Gimme More." In all honesty, it's not a bad track. Sure, it may not be her best song to date, but it's definately a step in the right direction. My question is this: Is Britney ready for a comeback?

At the moment, Britney is in a child-custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, and there will reportedly be three more court hearings in the dispute this year. One by one, K-Fed has been serving subpoenas to Britney associates including her assistant, former manager and others close to her.

So you would think that with this upcoming drama, the last thing on her mind would be a comeback. But it seems it takes more than a high-profile custody trial to keep Britney down.

Britney has enlisted the help of Criss Angel to put together what is promising to be a spectacular opening performance. She arrives in Vegas tomorrow for rehearsals, and I hope to get the inside track.

For now, take a look at this! Earlier this evening, I went down to the Little White Wedding Chapel, the very place that Britney got married for the first time. I met two newlyweds fresh out of the chapel - let's just hope their marriage lasts a little longer!

Talk tomorrow ...
