What caused this birthday cake to go from Karmin's plate to all over their faces?

"This is a series of two pictures: The first one is of us about to eat the cake and then this is the aftermath," Karmin's Nick Noonan told MTV News. "You notice, somehow, my shirt became unbuttoned between two pictures; I don't remember how that happened."

Check out Karmin's frosting-filled Instagram!

Although we don't know the full story behind these next five Instagrams, they're the MTV News team's favorite of the week:

"Glee" star Lea Michele — who recently opened her Instagram account, introduced us to her new bike via the photo-sharing site. The picture rolled its way right into the hearts of her more than 61,000 followers with 14,583 likes and 583 comments and counting.

Also traveling on two wheels this week is Kendall Jenner. Who's that riding tandem on the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" starlet's bike? The kid sister of Kim, Khloé and Kourtney claimed the oversized stuffed bear just happens to be her "new boy toy."

Lady Gaga dropped some big news this week when she uploaded this photograph of her with Kendrick Lamar. In the caption, Mother Monster announced a collaboration between the pair, which is scheduled to drop September 6. The track is from his new album and is titled "PARTYNAUSEOUS."

Trey Songz is (crowd) surfin' USA! This particular post comes to you from Detroit and features Songz aboard a hoard of female fans. We'd say watch your hands, ladies, but we're pretty certain the "Bottoms Up" singer can handle himself in this situation.

After taking Olympic gold, Gabby Douglas is back at home and spending a little quality time with Oprah Winfrey in this Instagram. Winfrey snapped the pic in the gymnast's backyard in West Des Moines, Iowa, while taping "Oprah's Next Chapter." The episode will air this Sunday on OWN.

Anderson Cooper

By Meredith Goldberg-Morse

Air travel must be rough for the famous. In addition to the never-ending security lines, overly intrusive pat-downs and the germ-infested recycled air that we common folk have to deal with, celebs have the additional stress of being trapped in an enclosed space with potentially overzealous fans and no viable means of escape. Anderson Cooper became fed up with one such admirer on a recent cross-country flight, causing the typically docile television personality to verbally school the offending fan. Guess that’s the price you pay for flying commercial, Anderson.

Perhaps it was the empowering presence of seatmate Johnny Weir, but Cooper became uncharacteristically “emboldened” when a nearby passenger attempted to snap a photo of the journalist as he tried to take a little snooze on the early-morning flight. Cooper’s reaction? To grab the offender’s shoulder and pose the justifiable question: “B**ch, what the … are you doing?”

He later regretted the knee-jerk reaction, but personally, we’re big advocates of sassy Anderson Cooper. And not only does the snap-happy fan have a blurry iPhone photo to document his proximity to the Silver Fox, but a kick-ass story go to with it. There are worse ways to pass the time on a transcontinental flight than being scolded by the most attractive man on CNN.

One Direction

By Zachary Swickey

Teen heartthrobs One Direction have been taking the globe by storm, but the global takeover hit a snag when the boy band charmers arrived in Sin City and were reportedly tossed out of a string of Vegas casinos for being underage. (To their credit, overseas they’re quite legal to booze and gamble as much as they want.)

Adding to the snafu is the fact that the boys were told their luxurious suite was the same one found in the instant-classic flick “The Hangover" – only to discover that the 2009 comedy was actually filmed at locations in Los Angeles.

“The boys were hoping to go wild in Vegas by boozing and gambling into the early hours,” a source revealed to British tabloid The Sun.

However, things didn’t go as planned. The source continued, “But security at every casino in town knew who the lads were and threw them out because the legal drinking and gambling age in the U.S. is 21.”

And yeah, they supposedly weren’t happy about not having the “Hangover” suite either: “Finding out the hotel suite they had ordered wasn’t the one in ‘The Hangover’ was also pretty annoying.”

The basketball court in their several thousand dollar suite must not have been enough! The Palms hotel suite they did book is two floors with its very own hot-tub, pool table and basketball court.

The gentlemen of One Direction are still on the road for their stateside tour, which hits Dallas Saturday and will later return to the scene of the crime with their final US date in September in Las Vegas.

It doesn’t get much hotter than One Direction. Except maybe if you took their token blonde hottie and match him up with sweetheart songbird and "X Factor" judge Demi Lovato. Now, that'd be a young pop power couple!

Which brings us to the question that everyone is asking — are these two young superstars the newest couple in Hollywood?

Ryan Seacrest got the scoop on his radio show today (June 14) straight from Niall Horan himself. He explained that he and Lovato have been using Skype to chit chat – and that Demi "is a cool girl."

Well, if Niall thinks Demi is "cool," and 19-year-old Demi has already admitted to finding him "adorable," it seems like they are leaning in the direction of their rumors! However, Horan went on to tell Seacrest, "We’ve spoken alright, yeah … So, I got in contact with her, she’s really nice. Um, I don’t know what’s going to happen."

They might not know what’s in store for them yet, but we bet the two teen dreams will figure it out fast.

It looks like they will have plenty to Skype about in the near future, huh?

President Barack Obama has always had a way with young people, and when it comes to his re-election bid, the POTUS is turning to young Hollywood to make sure it stays that way.

The youth vote was key to the president's election in 2008. He captured two thirds of voters under the age of 30 last time around and wants to recapture the magic again, so the Commander in Chief invited 25 lucky stars to a private breakfast at the Beverly Hilton on Thursday (June 7) to discuss the Young America Effort, an initiative that encourages young people to vote.

Jeremy Renner, Ian Somerhalder, Dianna Agron and Zach Braff were among the stars to chat up Obama, whose well-known charm won over the famous crowd. After the meet-up, many of the famous faces in attendance took to Twitter to post anecdotes about their convos with Pres as well as plenty of pics, which you can check out below.

In his ongoing quest to prove himself the most awesome of all the Royals – quite a task considering our personal affinity for Duchess Catherine Kate Middleton – Prince Harry has outdone even his own super cool past achievements by scoring a #1 album in the U.K.

Well, sort of.

It's not his album, of course (though we'd certainly buy his album if he released one, out of pure curiosity and on principal), it's Take That's Gary Barlow and the Commonwealth Band's Diamond Jubilee-inspired Sing. Harry is featured on tambourine on the title track, "Sing," Billboard reports.

The song was recorded to celebrate Harry's grandmum's 60th year as the Queen of England, and was written by Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber, composer of such Broadway classics as "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Evita."

The only other #1 album to feature a member of the royal family, according to Alan Jones of Music Week (via Billboard), was The Official BBC Album of the Royal Wedding. That album commemorated the 1981 wedding of Harry's parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, whose vows are heard on the track "The Marriage Service."

Harry has been busy recent charming the pants off the world while on a global tour celebrating Queen Elizabeth's historic reign and talking about how he's ready to start making babies. Applications are currently being accepted for the lucky lady, but you best get to the back of the line because he's already mine.

Prince Harry

By Elizabeth Lancaster (@lizzydl)

Start sending in your resumes, ladies. One of the world's most talked about bachelors has finally acknowledged his desire to start a family – and it could be with you!

Talking up the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (which is a very big deal across the pond), Prince Harry opened up to ABC’s Katie Couric about the many important women in in life, including his late mother Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, but most intriguingly about the future mother of his children, whose identity is still TBD.

The hunky 27-year-old royal explained, "I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young. And so I’m just waiting to find the right person, someone who’s willing to take on the job."

While the obvious question is, "Who the heck wouldn't be up for it?" Harry also revealed that there aren't any current candidates. "I don't have anyone” the young heir explained, having finally split for good from his longtime on-and-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

Now, that he has made this public proclamation about his desires for the future, we are sure many suitable ladies would line up for a shot at this "job."

Earlier this year, in an interview in Brazil, Harry told the press "Being 27 now, and doing this tour solo, I've always said that it would probably be easier as a couple." So this is no fleeting thought – Harry is ready to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and find a Kate Middleton of his very own. But who will it be?

Who would you like to see Prince Harry end up with? Let us know in the comments below!

Sometimes some people are just pushed one step too far and that seems to have been the case for (former?) IMDb writer Jon C. Hopwood, who was tasked with writing/updating the site's biography of Kim Kardashian and simply wasn't having it.

Hopwood decided that the opportunity was perfect to pen what is really more of an op-ed than a bio, digging his claws into Kardashian and her place in American culture. There's really not a ton more to say -- he's certainly not the first writer to tear into Kim K. and the reality TV/celebrity culture she has become the ultimate example of, he's just the first to go rouge and do it on the Internet's most trusted (and typically objective) source on all things film.

IMDb has already pulled the biography down, though in the age of screengrabs, if someone gets to something quick enough it lives forever. In this case, Uproxx managed to snag the bio before the folks at IMDb pulled it.

Yes, you read that correctly.

In a story more reminiscent of the ’91 comedy “King Ralph,” where American John Goodman becomes King of England, UK’s The Sun is claiming that Prince Harry is now interested in becoming a music DJ – specifically of the reggae variety following a particularly moving meeting with Bob Marley’s widow on a recent trip to Jamaica.

The Sun reports that the young royal has been stockpiling a huge vinyl music collection of reggae records from “specialist online stores.” The publication also states that Harry has been receiving helpful tips and lessons on how to mix records properly from his DJ friends.

“Harry has always been interested in music, but Jamaica was a real eye opener. He started looking into reggae as soon as he got back to the UK,” the of-course-unnamed source revealed.

Marley’s widow, Rita (who was also a member of his vocal backing group, the I Threes), also uknowingly played a part. “Meeting Rita Marley was a great inspiration too," the source continued. "She seems to have had a big impact on him.”

As rad as it may seem to picture Prince Harry blasting some Damian Marley at the House of Blues, the source says Harry’s DJ career would likely be restricted to private events (you know, being royalty and all): "He's unlikely to ever DJ in public — but if he did it'd be the party of the year."

(Given his known fondness for a good time, we kind of imagine that last part is true.)

The Royal Family has remained mum on Harry’s supposed newfound career, so we’ll remain ever so slightly skeptical for now.

John Mayer

It’s a new day and that means that this rumor that John Mayer’s “Shadow Days” is about ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston just won’t go away.

Earlier this week, a source shared that "he wrote the song as a farewell letter knowing [Jen] would hear it. Ultimately he's done a lot of self reflection though and he realizes they weren't right for each other."

While the rumor went unfounded, according to a new New York Daily News report, which Gossip Cop has rated at a #3 and we’re rating at a number we could care less, the actress skipped a Television Academy Honors ceremony because she didn’t want to deal with reporters asking her about being the alleged inspiration. According to a source, she “was feeling ill at the prospect of being peppered with questions on the subject.”

Another source tells Gossip Cop she actually skipped because she had a real illness. The insider says she didn’t attend “because she came down with a virus.”

We’re assuming it wasn’t the “I’m tired of talking about John Mayer” virus. But, to be honest, we kind of have the “We’re tired of hearing about Jen Aniston and her hot exes” virus. Though, we are not quite tired of “Shadow Days,” which we think might actually be his mea culpa to the world, not just Aniston. We’re also not tired of staring at all her hot exes. That is all.
