Well, that settles that.

Ellen DeGeneres used her daytime talk show today to address the controversy that erupted after conservative group One Million Moms urged a boycott of J.C. Penny after it signed DeGeneres as its new celebrity face.

The good-time girls from One Million Moms are very upset that J.C. Penny went with Ellen. The group, a project of the American Family Association, which according to GLAAD has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, just doesn't know what to do with itself now that a lesbian, gasp, will represent their favorite mid-priced clothing purveyor.

In a statement on its website, the group said it would urge people not to shop at the retailer because hiring DeGeneres revealed that it does not share the same "values." Yawn.

Ellen hit back, explaining that her own values included "honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people they way you want to be treated and helping those in need."

"To me, those are traditional values," she added.

Adele

If you were looking for any insight into 78-year-old Chanel designer/creative director Karl Lagerfeld's level of taste and class you've got it: While inexplicably discussing Born To Die singer/national discussion topic Lana Del Rey, Lagerfeld praised the "Video Games" singer for being beautiful (because that's what matters most when you're a singer, right?), but said he preferred the vocal stylings of Florence Welch and Adele … you know, even though she's "a little too fat."

“I prefer Adele and Florence Welch," Lagerfeld told Metro of Del Rey. “But as a modern singer she is not bad. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice. Lana del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants? She’s not alone with implants.”

This guy! He says a bunch of other crazy things in the article, including that President Obama deserves to be reelected because he likes Michelle Obama's spitfire attitude and that M.I.A.'s Super Bowl halftime middle finger flip was a "bad habit," adding that "people in magazines are 50 percent bimbo and 50 percent pregnant women" and proving 100 percent that he had no idea what the interviewer was asking him about.

And it's not just him, of course. When will people learn to shut their faces about Adele's weight? She's made it very clear that she doesn't really care what people think about her appearance, so can we all just agree that discussing her weight is silly and classless and says more about the one speaking than it does about Adele? OK then.

(Oh, and for the record, maybe Uncle Karl is just living out some repressed issues ... after all, he hasn't always been the lightest guy in town himself!)

Do you think the Chanel designer's comments about Adele went a little too far? Let us know in the comments below!

Aretha Franklin

Bad news! Aretha Franklin has called off her engagement to Willie Wilkerson.

"Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time," Franklin said in a statement. "We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends."

The pair announced their engagement just after New Year's, telling the press that Franklin was "considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown" and jokingly reassuring everyone that the "Respect" singer was "not pregnant."

Franklin and Wilkerson had been friends for years and boasted that their relationship was so strong because they were pals long before things turned romantic.

Justin Bieber

Short and shaggy manes are in and we can all thank Justin Bieber and Emma Watson.

This according to the Wall Street Journal, which reports, “The fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber.”

Pixie cuts haven’t been truly popular since the ‘90s (apparently? Quick, someone tell every thirtysomething mother at the supermarket), but leave it to the endlessly trendy “Harry Potter” starlet to bring the style back into vogue. After wrapping the final “Potter” flick, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” (which made MTV’s list of the Top Newsmakers of 2011), Watson chopped off her long, curly locks in a concrete display that she was leaving Hermoine Granger in the past and moving on into adulthood.

As for the “Bieber swish,” as the Journal hilariously calls it, well, you probably don’t even have to look out your front door to see one of those if you have a teenage son. The side-swept style popularized by the “Mistletoe” singer is everywhere … even though he has stopped sporting the famous cut himself.

Check out Watson’s pixie chic style as MTV News' own Josh Horowitz teaches the cast of "Harry Potter" a little "American Talk," after the jump! Read More...

Yesterday, we gave a big shout out to our favorite couples of 2011 and asked which was your favorite (right now, it looks like you’re still basking in post-engagement afterglow with Britney Spears and Jason Trawick, but the Biebs and his lady love, Selena Gomez, aren’t far behind - vote here!) but today, we take a walk down a far more dreary memory lane to count down the biggest celebrity breakups of 2011.

Check out MTV News’ full rundown of 2011’s Biggest Celebrity Breakups!

Of course, the dissolution of Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to husband Kris Humphries has dominated the headlines since it was announced on Halloween. Following their elaborate multimillion-dollar wedding and equally televised courtship, skeptics wondered (many of them very loudly) whether Kim and Kris’ marriage was even the real deal or a ploy to pull in ratings for the myriad Kardashian reality shows on E! and bring more tabloid attention to a family that can’t get enough of it. Stay classy!

Two other big-name divas filed for divorce from their respective husbands in 2011 as well: Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore. With Lopez’s career of an unexpectedly huge upswing after she joined “American Idol” in January, things reportedly started to get weird with husband Marc Anthony as she got super busy again with TV, movies and endorsement deals (goodness gracious does this girl have herself some endorsement deals!). By all accounts, she and Anthony remain friendly for the sake of their joint business endeavors and young twins, Max and Emme. For Moore, who at one time was the highest paid actress in the world, things were a little more cut and dry. After a long run of infidelity rumors, the “Margin Call” actress decided the time was right to walk away from her marriage to her much-younger husband, “Two and a Half Men” star (is there something about that role?) Ashton Kutcher.

Two other divorces make MTV’s list of the years biggest, though both are decidedly more low-key (and in one case, one might even say indie) than their headline grabbing counterparts in lost love. This year, hipster fave actress Zooey Deschanel and folkie hubby Ben Gibbard parted ways. As you’d expect from these two, the split was reportedly “mutual and amicable.” Another breakup we didn’t see coming occurred just before Valentine’s Day when Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz announced their split. Sure there were rumors, but these two always seemed to have each other’s backs. Le sigh!

Which breakup do you think was the biggest of the year? Vote in our poll after the jump! Read More...

Bey and Jay

By Zachary Swickey

Jigga man Jay-Z may have 99 problems but chivalry ain’t one – the rap superstar is showing his support his pregnant wifey Beyonce by joining her on a strict dieting regimen.

A source tells Us Weekly that the duo have been maintaining a "partially vegan diet," which will surely help Queen B get her notably drool-worthy physique back after her baby is delivered. (No one’s exactly sure when she’s due, but our best guess is early in the New Year.)

Discussing Hova’s new vegan-centric diet, the source states, "Jay’s trying to be disciplined, and he needs the energy to support her."

Beyonce previously talked to "20/20" about her eating habits, saying, "I’ve been really conscious [about food]. I’ve been trying my best not to lose control!"

The source also adds to Us that the couple were "dancing up a storm" at The Spare Room gaming lounge at the Hollywood Roosevelt – partying ‘til 4 AM, while Jay blows off steam from his monumental Watch the Throne tour with chum Kanye West. Read More...

By now, you've no doubt heard that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's six-year marriage is over. Moore filed for divorce yesterday and released a statement to the Associated Press, saying, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Kutcher took to his favorite medium, Twitter, to issue his own thoughts. "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," Kutcher tweeted yesterday. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK."

The platform for Kutcher's response was fitting considering his romance with Moore basically unfolded for everyone to see on Twitter. The pair were never shy about sharing the details of their relationship and are perhaps the most high profile couple to invite the public into their private life via the social media site. Just check out some of the TwitPics from these two over the years. Read More...

Khloe Kardashian Tweet

"Saturday Night Live's" 'Kim's Fairytale Divorce' skit pulled no punches in depicting the reality TV circus that follows Klan Kardashian everywhere.

While Kim, Kris and Bruce Jenner were the biggest targets in the skit -- Bruce's stretched face can't produce tears anymore so someone uses eyedrops -- Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were also targets.

So how would the sisters respond to the clip skewering the family that films together? With plenty of laughter and, of course, some tweets to show it all off.

"Ha! I just saw the SNL skit they did and I could not stop laughing.... LOL," tweeted Khloe Kardashian.

Kourtney took it one step further. While retweeting her sister, she added "I peed! The @KrisJenner was classic."

The retweet to Kris didn't inspire any typing. Mom Kardashian has been quiet, focusing her 140 characters to support son Robert on his "Dancing With the Stars" run.

SNL Kim KardashianWe spent our weekend running errands and trying to decompress from the week that was all Kardashian Divorce, all the time. But it was hard to avoid as we walked by the newsstands in every supermarket to see the headlines screaming at us about the split that rocked the ... well ... rocked Kim's world.

Those writers at 'Saturday Night Live' knew just what ailed us and came up with the perfect medicine: a sneak peek at the new E! special 'Kim's Fairytale Divorce.'

If you haven't had the pleasure yet, ease into the Monday with a spot-on take on the wedding special that took away four hours from our lives that we are never getting back.

A special shout out to Kristin Wiig who nails Kris Jenner to perfection. And if the writers' take on Kris Humphries is indicative of the teasing in store, he may want to go into hiding.
