What about if you were really bored, and that someone was Pete Wentz?

Well, I know my answer: yes. This is because, yesterday, while we were taking a break from shooting the special VMA-edition of FNMTV (airing this Friday! 8 p.m.! Special appearances by Tokio Hotel and T.I.! WOOOO!), Wentz bet me $500 to eat a gigantic, gumball-sized ball of wasabi — then wash it down with 32 fluid ounces of really nasty Kombucha, a fermented drink that tasted a whole lot like malted vinegar. And I took him up on his wager.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, basically, on this week's "FN," Diddy showed up with his newest protégé a smooth R&B crooner by the name of Donnie Klang. Diddy and Donnie then premiered their new video, "Take You There," which is full of models and bottles of vodka, which means it is a lot like other Bad Boy videos released over the past year. Two Bad Boy videos — from Day26 and Danity Kane — had premiered on previous episodes of the show, and I had been rather harsh to both of them.

Apparently, Diddy watches the show.

Before we started taping, it seemed like he was glaring at me backstage, but I figured he was just deep in thought or something, so I ignored it — surely, Diddy had no idea who I was. But when it came time for the panel — of which Tim Kash and I are members, along with a guest (Jordin Sparks this week) — to talk about D&D's new video, Diddy bum-rushed the stage, leaned on my shoulder and stared daggers at me until it came time for me to render my verdict on the clip. (I believe this is called "intimidation.")

Of course, I said that while the kids liked the video, I didn't see much of anything in it that would separate Donnie from the field of light-hued R&B guys out there, at which point Diddy lost his sh--, yelling, "Who the f--- are you?!?! How many hit records do you have?!?!?!" at me (OK, he does have a point there), then stomping around the panel. I sort of looked on in amazement while he continued to rant, stopping only to grab my head and plant a big wet kiss on my cheek. The audience cheered like crazy — and then Diddy was gone, off into the Los Angeles night.

In the aftermath, people have been e-mailing me questions like "What does Diddy smell like??!?!" or "Were you scared he was going to beat you with a phone or a champagne bottle?!?!" And my answers are this: Diddy smells like lotion and rich mahogany; and no, I wasn't scared, primarily because I didn't think even he'd be crazy enough to pound on me while cameras rolled and 500 kids looked on.

Actually, I think he was more "TV mad" (i.e. "acting") than he was actually upset. And he did kiss me, which was sort of nice.

So I guess Diddy and I are good. At least I hope we are. At the very least, we made TV magic together — and that's got to count for something.

We're doing "FNMTV" live tomorrow, which means today is load-in day, which usually means I sit around and drink coffee and have script meetings and stuff. And while all that is still certainly happening today (and none of it is particularly interesting), I had to send in this photo of Miley Cyrus' amps.

In case you didn't know, Miley is on this week's show (I can hear the "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" already), and her set is currently being loaded onto the "FN" stage. These amps are part of that set, and, as such, I am not particularly sure they're even real amps. They look like something Pikachu would take on an arena tour. But they certainly are, um, colorful, and they're baking in the SoCal sun as I type this.

I'm gonna go try to plug in and wail on "7 Things" now.

Before you clobber me with comments, let me explain!

Last week on "FNMTV," we aired a piece called "Three Things You Don't Know About the Jonas Brothers." One of the tidbits we uncovered was that back in '06, Joe Jonas brought a Care Bears pillow on tour. After the segment aired, he defiantly insisted to Pete Wentz that said pillow belonged to his little brother Frankie.

Initially, I shrugged off Joe's attempt to save face in front of his adoring fans. If I was in his (stylish and probably very, very expensive) shoes, I would have most likely done the same thing — "The dog farted" excuse, if you will. But then I started to see some disparaging comments on JoBro message boards about my "hack job." "That was Frankie's pillow! Joe said it himself!" "Why is MTV spreading rumors?" "Why doesn't MTV play more music videos?" (Granted, that last comment always pops up on any message board about anything MTV-related — and I'm fairly certain that my uncle is usually the culprit.)

But now it's time to stop the haterade, Jonas fans. Below you'll find the raw footage from 2006, filmed by my colleague Matt Paco while he produced their "You Hear It First" segment.

So, say what you will about the "FNMTV" segment I produced. I know the Tara Reid bit isn't really about the Jonas Brothers. And I agree that it's not entirely fair to dust off two-plus-year-old footage and pretend like it's the gospel according to Jonas. But you can't deny that Joe Jonas was all about Bedtime Bear back in the day.

Since the FNMTV premiere of "Eraser," the lo-fi, high-concept video from Los Angeles skate-punk duo No Age, the comments have been pouring in at MTV.com. Some hate on the gritty lo-fi sound and arguably indecipherable lyrics, while others are reveling in the distortion and walls of noise.

But No Age aren't the only ones these days playing with the lo-fi sound; there's a whole slew of bands revolving around the simple DIY aesthetic, crafting music in their basements, garages and bedrooms across America (we even made a mixtape in order to give you guys a sampling).

So for those who don't quite get the sound — and those who are loving every overblown into-the-red second — take a look at our larger video piece on the scene. It'll tell you everything you need to know about why they did it and where they're coming from. Just be sure to play it loud!

I don't know how much I'm allowed to give away about this week's show, but suffice it to say, Pete's lined up a doozy, including a performance by a guy who may or may not have just sold a million records in one week ...

You gotta tune in because, otherwise, what the heck are we rehearsing for?
