Dave Matthews fans are angry with the Grammys because band co-founder and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who died in August, was excluded from the show's annual "In Memoriam" segment. While the exclusion of more recent passings, such as Cramps singer Lux Interior and Stooges guitarist Ron Ashton, might have been understandable, Moore was clearly overlooked. Granted, the Grammys had a challenging show last night for well-publicized reasons, but for fans, it's hard not to take this as a slight. The band has not only sold millions of albums and performed for countless fans, they have been nominated for multiple Grammys and won one (Matthews himself won an additional Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 2004). We understand the challenges of putting on a live awards show — believe us, we understand! — but it seems the Academy could have spared some shine for this gifted and much-missed musician.

Spokespeople for the Grammys were not available for comment at press time.

Before hitting the Grammy stage via banana, Katy Perry told Sway that she would be shipping her bubble-gum pink dress back to Lebanon after the night's festivities were over. "I can't keep any of this, by the end of the night I turn into a pumpkin and I'm naked! It's over. I look crazy afterwards."

Then the pair switched roles for a bit and Ms. Perry played reporter, grilling Sway on his preference: the VMAs or the Grammys. Sway, being loyal to his employer, chose the VMAs. And before long, Katy was explaining the sorts of jitters she was experiencing before her first Grammy performance. "Well, I've never done it before. It feels a little like your first kiss, 'cause you're so nervous and you've never had it and you've heard about all your friends doing it."

Apparently, at some point during his interview with Taylor Swift on the Grammy red carpet, Sway thought that maybe, just maybe, he had a shot at the Best News Correspondent Grammy.

Too bad Taylor, who performed with her best friend Miley Cyrus during the show, was there to remind him that the Grammys aren't really the venue for guys like Sway to win awards.

"They should have a separate awards show for that sort of thing," she told him. "Maybe not include it as a subcategory for the Grammys, 'cause it's basically all music."

That seems pretty obvious to all of us, Sway! If you really need the accolades for all your hard work here, Taylor has a suggestion for you: "There could be a Journalist Awards!"

Last night, I live-blogged the Grammys and now, 12 hours after the strains of Stevie Wonder mercifully brought the show to a close, I'm back for a recap. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment.

It seems like most of you had the same thoughts I did about the awards: too many moments like Plant and Krauss winning Album of the Year, not enough like Lil Wayne, Kanye, Jay-Z and T.I.’s take on "Swagga Like Us." We were all fired up by the announcement that Blink-182 were reuniting, all genuinely touched by Jennifer Hudson's rousing performance of "You Pulled Me Through," all bemused by M.I.A.'s ready-to-burst belly. Oh, and we were all really taken aback by the news of Chris Brown's arrest, too. too.

I've collected some of the best comments of the night after the jump, in the hopes of continuing the conversation. What did you think about the Grammys? What were your favorite moments? Oh, and at a couple of points during last night's live blog, I mentioned that I totally knocked it out of the park with my Grammy predictions. As it turns out, I was slightly exaggerating. I went six for 11 in my picks, calling Record and Song of the Year, Best New Artist (sort of — I said "Duffdele" would win ... close enough), plus nailing stuff like Best Rap Song and Album. Somehow I whiffed in all the rock categories, and I blew it in polka, too. How'd you do in your office pool? Let me know!

Miss the Grammys last night? Read all about how Robert Plant and Alison Krauss swept the show, winning five trophies, including the coveted Album of the Year. Coldplay netted three — including Best Rock Album and Song of the Year — and Lil Wayne took home Best Rap Album. Read our Grammy recap, check out the winners list and flip through photos of Grammy fashions.

Watch the "Rap Pack" — Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West, T.I., and a very pregnant M.I.A. — earn a standing ovation with their "Swagga Like Us" performance.

Blink-182 confirm the rumors — they're baaaaack! They have a new album and tour in the works for this summer.

50 Cent admits to making fun of Kanye West's new haircut and fashion sense but denies that "Play This on the Radio" is about West.

There was heated debate at our Greatest Movie Badasses of All Time panel discussion at New York Comic-Con over the weekend. But the man behind #1 Badass Dirty Harry, Clint Eastwood, thinks we made the right choice.

I'm just getting out of the Grammy Awards. The show this year was cool. I especially enjoyed Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo in the tribute to the Four Tops. Jennifer Hudson is amazingly strong, and her voice is powerful. So many people in the building were crying.

During the red carpet beforehand, it was great to chop it up with so many of the presenters and performers. Was Katy Perry really flirting with me? We had a really playful conversation where she started off interviewing me. That pink dress was cute. Don't hurt 'em.

More of Sway's behind-the-scenes photos from the Grammy red carpet, after the jump!

In a sea of musicians, many nominated on the recording industry's biggest night, I would imagine that it can't be easy to stand out as an actress. Yet, Kate Beckinsale — a presenter at tonight's Grammys — was far and away the night's best-dressed lady of the evening.

Beckinsale is impeccably dressed at every red-carpet event she attends, but tonight was something special. Wearing a long black mermaid gown (which might be her favorite look, since she also did the mermaid thing at the Golden Globes), she looked regal among her entertainer friends. I still can't quite figure out why she was presenting at the Grammys to begin with, since "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" came out a couple of weeks ago and is performing pretty unremarkably at the box office, but hey, if you're going to do a red carpet, better do it more fab than everyone else while you're at it.

Generally speaking, a glance at our Grammy red-carpet photos proves that all the best-dressed women chose black over the festive blue everyone's been donning lately. Black is the new black once again! Along with Beckinsale, Miley Cyrus and BFF Taylor Swift both looked gorgeous in their black gowns. Ah, the Grammys ... A magical night, full of stars, songs and swagger -- plus a few awards and performances, too. The biggest names in music have flocked to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and after a few hours spent walking the red carpet, they've taken their seats and are ready for the big show to begin.

And it promises to be a pretty interesting show, for sure. Because, for the first time in years, there's plenty of drama tonight: Can Lil Wayne win Album of the Year (and how will he manage to keep his tuxedo pants up?), or will Grammy-faves like Coldplay or Alison Krauss and Robert Plant swoop in and steal the night's biggest award? Will one stage be big enough to contain all the swagger in the "Swagga Like Us" performance? Can the Jonas Brothers take Best New Artist? What do surprise presenters Blink-182 and Green Day have in store for us? And--most importantly--will Thom Yorke wear Gucci or Prada (or just some free-trade, hemp sweatpants?)

All will be answered as the evening unfolds ... and I'll be here with you, live blogging it all from the comfort of my office at MTV's Times Square HQ (we have free coffee!) So sit back, relax, and let the Grammy Magic begin.

8:00 We're LIVE! From the Staples Center in Los Angeles (where there's always a boat show next door -- sorry, LA joke) for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards! Just to get you up to speed on what's happened so far ... Lil Wayne, Coldplay, Radiohead, Kanye and Jay-Z all won Grammys during the pre-televised award ceremony (the Kings of Leon, the Mars Volta, Adele and Duffy did too), and neither Chris Brown or Rihanna will be attending the show tonight, due to either a car crash or a possible felony assault.

8:07 U2 kick things off with a performance of their new single "Put On Your Boots." Bono removes his shades--is he wearing mascara?!?!--and then announces Whitney Houston! She gets a standing ovation (and shows off some leg, too) then announces the nominees for Best R&B album ... very. very. slowly. seriously. this. is. taking. forever. Jennifer Hudson wins Best R&B album. She fights back the tears and thanks "God who has brought me through, and my family in heaven."

8:11 The Rock cuts a mean promo (just like his WWF DAYS! Can't wait for the People's Elbow!) and then tosses to Justin Timberlake, who makes a terrible pun about a general store (crickets ... crickets) and intros Boyz II Men, Keith Urban and Al Green. Oh, and he performs with them, too (JT can do everything!). This goes on for a while ...

8:16 Our first commercial break! My first coffee break!

8:27 We're Back! That dude from "The Mentalist" intros Coldplay ... AND JAY-Z! He and Chris Martin do their "Lost" duet, and then we've officially gone medley as the rest of the band join them (not Jay, he left already), for "Viva La Vida." It bears mentioning that Coldplay's outfits are now color-coordinated and make them look like foot soldiers in the Fruit Stripe Gum army. Martin has "42" written on his shirt. Perhaps he's a big fan of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy."

Hi, all! It’s Jocelyn Vena here, MTV News' fashionista for the evening. I’m here to share my thoughts on tonight’s hits and misses as the celebrities roll up on the Grammy Awards red carpet. (And of course, you’re here to tell me if you agree or disagree, so speak up in the comments section!) I can’t wait to see what everyone is wearing!

5:10 p.m.: Death Cab for Cutie have made their way onto the carpet wearing four suits, two beards and no Zooey Deschanel in sight.

5:25: Best New Artist nominees Lady Antebellum arrived looking like mixed bag of styles instead of one cohesive group.

5:45: Jason Mraz just showed up wearing, wait for it, a hat. This guy loves his fedoras and luckily this one, much like his music, is beach friendly and appears to be made of straw.

6:07: Paula Abdul is a hot mess of yellow and sequins and giant beehive of a bun. It's like if Frenchie went to that school dance in "Grease" in the future. Flo Rida followed up her appearance looking very tame in a suit.

6:17: Self-proclaimed gentleman Ne-Yo has made his way onto the carpet sporting an ascot and looking dapper. He looks like the R&B Chuck Bass.

6:20: Leona Lewis' nude-colored, sequined halter gown has a very lovely fabric, but why did she decide that her hair and her dress should match? Maybe she should have done something in a different color. Fellow Brit Estelle looked like she was wearing makeup from Motown and borrowed Judy Jetson's dress. We're assuming this was done on purpose.

6:28: Ryan Seacrest has managed to remind LL Cool J that he's kind of old. And, LL seems reluctant to take off his sunglasses.

6:31: OMG!!! Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift on the carpet at the same time and they're both in black! They match! Taylor's deep V-neck gown complements Miley's one-shouldered, flower-embellished one very nicely. They look like best friends going to an awards show together. It's kind of cute!
