I moved to Los Angeles from Atlanta a little over three years ago, and in that time some pretty awesome stuff has happened — but nothing as awesome as what happened Sunday, when I ran into legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr on the street. (The Smiths were Morrissey's band during the 1980s, for anyone who doesn't know!)

I was just walking out of my neighborhood pizza place on an average Sunday afternoon when I looked over and thought to myself, "Weird, that guy looks a lot like Johnny Marr. ... Uh, wait a minute, that IS Johnny Marr!" Being a HUGE Smiths fan (that's the understatement of the century, by the way), I just had to go up and talk to him — and, lucky for me, he was charming and incredibly nice. Derek Jeter

Back in the U.K., the names David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney are household names known by every man, woman and child from London to Edinburgh. When I first got here, one of the first things I did was go to a baseball game ... and I was pretty much hooked. I started getting into American football, basketball and baseball pretty quick, and for a while, I've been waiting for a day that all the hours I've spent watching ESPN would finally pay off.

Well, they finally did, when I met one of America's best sportsmen of all time: Derek Jeter.

This is a new thread I'm going to start.

So Thursday, I'm walking down the corridor outside my office when my boy Josh stops me with the words, "Hey Tim, have you met Carl Weathers?'"

Now, if I'm honest, I didn't have a clue who Carl Weathers was, so when I turned around I got the shock of my life: Standing in front of me was Apollo Creed! Yes, Apollo Creed himself. Apparently, they're the same guy. (Check out how the MTV Movies staff reacted to Carl's visit.)
