Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber may keep it PG in his albums and videos, but the 18-year-old pop star may not be quite as wholesome as he lets on to his young fans.

On a 12-hour Air New Zealand flight back to the U.S. following his Down Under promo tour, Justin and his entourage took over first class and got into some trouble. According to TMZ, Biebs and Co. were shouting curse words (including the four letter ones) so loudly over the course of the trip that a nearby mother of two reprimanded Justin. She instructed him to "stop yelling curse words and using that kind of language on a plane. It's not appropriate." Amen.

While we are sure Justin does not get told what to do very often, he was embarrassed and reportedly apologized to the woman.

Maybe Justin is in need of other spaces and outlets to shout, swear and be his 18-year old self in, since he steers very clear of any profanity in his music (unlike most other artists of his age). But in the future, we bet he will choose a location void of any children – or at the very least those accompanied by protective and vocal mothers!

In a statement that should come as a surprise to no one: an 18-year-old pop star with nearly unlimited resources and a penchant for the word "swag" makes for a loud neighbor. At least according to "Hit & Run" co-stars Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, who live near Justin Bieber.

The pair were on "The View" today promoting their new film, and told the ladies that since Bieber began renting a house behind theirs things have been a bit crazier than usual.

"The music and the parties and the paparazzi, I mean, it’s like living in Lebanon now," Shepard said (via People).

Not looking to rile up those suffering from Bieber Fever, Bell was more diplomatic, saying that while she couldn't be 100 percent sure that Justin was behind the uptick in volume in their neighb, there's definitely been a surge in noise since he set up shop.

"In his defense, I will say we don’t know the exact house the music is coming from," Bell told the ladies. "We just know since he moved in, the music has been blaring."

In other Bieber news, the Los Angeles City Attorney Office is set to file four misdemeanor charges – including following another vehicle too closely, reckless driving with the intent to capture pictures for commercial gain, reckless driving and failing to obey the lawful order of a peace officer – against paparazzo Paul Raef, who allegedly chased Bieber down Los Angeles' 101 freeway last month.

Pop star Justin Bieber is a force to be reckoned with on Twitter, and now he's harnassed the power of his 25 million-strong social media fanbase to change the life of an aspiring young singer he feels is a star in the making.

Bieber has given 13-year-old Madison Beer the same ringing endorsement he bestowed upon Cary Rae Jepsen … and we all know how that turned out! The pop superstar first showed his enthusiasm for Beer’s talent on Tuesday (July 17) when he tweeted a link to a YouYube video of her cover the Etta James’ classic “At Last.”

“wow. 13 years old! she can sing. great job. #futurestar,” he wrote along with the link.

That kind of endorsement from Bieber is all it takes to become a trending topic, which happened for Beer less than 24 hours later and increased views for the video to 222,243 at the time of this writing.

“@justinbieber OMGOGMFHAHDBSBAWHEBSBSHHWEHHDXHSHHAFBBAGEEHYBT I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING. I AM CRYING,” an elated Beer wrote to her nearly 20,000 Twitter followers.

Biebs kept showing the love too – he later sent Beer’s mash-up of Jepsen’s hit "Call Me Maybe" and his own single “Boyfriend” to Jepsen herself, and did the same with Beers' cover of a Bruno Mars hit as well.

“haha. @carlyraejepsen watch this. pretty funny. reminds me of my old videos. #MashUpFReakOUT,” Justin wrote. He continued, “this is just how i started. i love it. @brunomars u gotta see one. She is great. #STAR."

It appears Bieber is becoming quite the talent scout as Beer is now reportedly in talks to sign with the singer's manager Scooter Braun, who discovered him on YouTube and now also represents Jepsen.

Jepsen was a little unknown 26-year-old Canadian singer, before Bieber helped make her a sensation. Bieber called her single "Call Me Maybe" “possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever heard.” The song has gone on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Our pals at MTV Buzzworthy have dug up a gem.

Ever since Justin Bieber dropped the video for his hit single "Boyfriend," people have been commenting on the clip's similarities to a video featuring another famous Justin – NSYNC's "Girlfriend." The videos share a similar look and feel, in addition to lots of muscle car showboating, plenty of choreographed dancing and more than a few pretty girls.

The tonal and stylistic similarities between the two are purely coincidental, of course. During "MTV First: Justin Bieber," Biebs told MTV News that he hasn't seen NSYNC's video, though he admitted to being influenced by Timberlake, saying, "He was young, and he did it, and he was really amazing and had such amazing music. I can't say that I would be upset when someone compares me to him."

"Girlfriend" marked a point in the NSYNC guys' careers where they were transitioning from boys into men, and for Bieber, "Boyfriend" represents the same move toward a more mature look and sound. "I think it's super cool," Bieber told MTV News of his "Boyfriend" video. "I wanted to do something a little bit more mature.

Big surprise here! Due to overwhelming demand, Justin Bieber has extended his U.K. tour to accommodate all the screaming fans who didn’t manage to snag tickets to his highly anticipated roadshow.

The Canuck wonder's U.K. tour kicks off February 19, 2013, in Manchester before concluding in London on March 7. While the tour’s Sheffield date had to be pulled due to unnoticed scheduling conflicts, more dates across the U.K. have been added, according to Ticketmaster. A new performance has been announced for Birmingham’s NIA, which will take place February 28, and two dates have been added to his run at London's O2 Arena, on March 5 and March 7, respectively.

Tickets for the U.S. leg of Bieber’s tour are in equally high-in-demand, as his entire stateside run sold-out in less than one hour – an amazingly rare feat – according to his manager, Scooter Braun.

The demand isn't surprising, given the fact that Beiber's Believe album recently debuted to the strongest first-week numbers of any album so far this year. Nothing can stop the Bieber train!

Our neighbor to the north is celebrating one of its biggest holidays today. So if you know any Canadians, be sure to wish them a Happy Canada Day!

Canada Day celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act – today referred to mostly as the 1867 Constitution Act – that united three colonies into a single country called Canada. Often referred to as “Canada's birthday,” it is Canada’s equivalent to our Fourth of July, as Canada became a country in its own right on that date – though the British Parliament maintained limited political control over Canada that was shed in stages over the years with the last surrendered in 1982.

Very importantly, like Independence Day in the U.S., Canada Day is celebrated with fireworks, parades, picnics and carnivals. Those are some of our favorite things. See, Canada is just like us where it counts!

Canada has given us much to be thankful for. It’s where we all threaten to go when something doesn’t go our way politically. Montreal is as close to Paris as you’re going to get without flying across an ocean (sorry, no Eiffel Tower though). About half of all movies seem to film in and around Vancouver. And it’s given us some seriously great tunes.

Over the years, Canada has churned out some of the biggest stars to hit the U.S. charts. It gave the mid-90s an injection of earthy rock when Alanis Morissette dropped her iconic Jagged Little Pill and provided the early-00s with some fun punk-pop from Avril Lavigne. These days, two of the biggest stars on the planet (Drake and Justin Bieber) come to us from our chilly northern neighbor.

Check out our favorite Canadian music superstars out below!

Obama

By Natasha Chandel

We know President Barack Obama is seeking the youth vote, but we didn’t realize he would take on Justin Bieber to get it!

That’s right, another video mash-up of the president has surfaced, and this time Obama is singing Bieb’s latest hit, "Boyfriend."

High off the viral video success of his mash-up cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s "Call Me Maybe," the YouTuber known as barackdubs pieced together another hilarious clip, where Obama, in his deep and stoic voice, promises viewers that if he was their boyfriend, he would never let them go. Maybe sub in “boyfriend” for “president” and you get the hidden message? That’s probably reading too far into it, but the video should definitely boost his presence among the Beliebers.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen President Obama serenade the nation. Earlier this year, Obama dropped a few bars of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" at a New York fundraiser to rave reviews!

And this certainly isn’t only the second time for barackdubs, who has racked over 35 million hits on his YouTube channel for other Obama renditions to songs like Rihanna’s “Drink to That” and LMFAO’s “I’m Sexy and I Know it.”

Even the non Beliebers of the world have probably heard that Justin Bieber’s new album, Believe, was released this week. You cannot turn on the TV, radio or walk down the street without hearing his name – sometimes from a screaming mob of girls.

Jimmy Fallon heard the news from Justin himself last night, but things turned slightly competitive when Jimmy mentioned his own new album. Soon, instead of Blow Your Pants Off vs. Believe (Jimmy admitted right up front that he knew Bieber would sell more copies) it was Jimmy vs. Justin. Fallon was committed to finding a way to beat Bieber … at something.

The face-offs that followed included: video games, rock/paper/scissors, breathe holding and a grand finale sudden-death dance off. Needless to say Biebs went with the moonwalk, and the sudden death was quick. Showing it was all in good fun, the two ended their rivalry with a "hand hug" (we are going to start doing this in the MTV Newsroom in lieu of handshaking).

Learning how to hand hug wasn’t the only educational moment in this skit; both Jimmy and Justin love juice and Bieber can do way more pushups than we imagined. Either way, it looks like Justin has now officially gained one more Belieber.
