It's hard to think of something more embarrassing for a 17-year-old boy than going to the mall with his mom to buy jeans and having her measure his inseam while all his friends fall out of their food court chairs giggling.

Well, except being a 17-year-old international pop superstar and having your manager discuss the status of your little fellas with all the world. Cue to what we can only imagine was a very red-faced Justin Bieber slouching on a couch during a cover story interview with Billboard magazine recently in which his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, dropped this bon mot. "Vocally, his balls have dropped," Braun said of the vocal changes fans might hear on the singer's upcoming Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe.

Wow, okay. Thanks Scooter, but seriously dude, TMI.

Of course, Bieber isn't the only teen dream who's had to deal with ch-ch-ch-changes to his voice at the peak of his powers. Read More...

This morning when we arrived in the MTV Newsroom, we were alerted to the most important holiday-related news of the year: Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey's duet of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" leaked online.

Listening to the hotly anticipated track, we were struck by … well, by the fact that Mariah's vocal seems identical to that of her classic original. It's the same vocal, right? It's not just us? We're not hearing things?

Mariah's original "All I Want For Christmas" is our favorite Christmas song. Having listened to the song approximately 12 million times, we feel confident that we're right.

But you tell us. Above is Mariah's original and after the jump is her duet with Bieber. Listen closely then vote in our poll below. Read More...

‘Tis the season to be jolly, especially if you’re a Justin Bieber fan, as the teen superstar is set to release his first holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, come November 1.

(The first single, "Mistletoe," dropped earlier this week during MTV First: Justin Bieber.)

For this release, Bieber has roped in a whole host of guest artists. Some guest appearances are to be expected – mentor and close friend Usher, of course, duets with Bieber on his version of "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts)." Some, though, seem to have come out of left field. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to do a double take when I found out that Bieber would be collaborating with Mariah Carey on a new version of her smash “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Not only is the music Carey makes very different from Bieber's, her fanbase is an entirely different demographic.

But, then again, this new Justin/Mariah power combo is hardly the first unusual music collaboration. Artists working together and crossing genres often produce fresh, innovative music. In anticipation of hearing the new duet version of “All I Want for Christmas is You,” I thought I’d take a look back at some of music’s most unusual and unexpected collaborations.

Justin Bieber certainly has his romantic swag on full display in the video for "Mistletoe."

Whatever do we mean? Well, between the photo booth scene, the dress-buying sequence, picking up his girl in a very expensive vintage car and the kiss at a dance, it's hard for us to really not pine away about our first love when watching the holiday-themed clip. Bieber knows how to treat a lady. Selena, you got yourself a good one.

Director Roman White explained that a lot of the video was inspired by John Hughes movies from the past. And that inspiration is not on display more than about midway through the clip when Bieber picks up his lady love in his car. What kind of car? A vintage Porsche. No. Big. Deal.

Anyways, it's a full-on "Pretty In Pink" moment (Don't know what we mean? Go watch it and get back to us!) and it's pretty much the key scene in the video. It marks the turning point for Bieber and his girl, played by Allie Williams, as they finally make the transition from hot chocolate-swilling besties to mistletoe kissing boyfriend and girlfriend.

Just a note for the future: Bieber, we're pretty sure she was into you without all that swag. Check out the "Mistletoe" video, as well as vid director Roman White talking about the Key Scene, after the jump. Read More...

Last night during MTV First, Justin Bieber's new Christmas hit "Mistletoe" debuted and Beliebers are loving it, calling the catchy tune a "Christmas classic."

Fans joined MTV News' James Montgomery here in our Times Square offices, which got a holiday makeover with gift boxes, wreathes, lights and even a fire accented with stockings, for the special, where they got to check out James' interview with Bieber and ask "Mistletoe" video director Roman White questions about working with the pop star.

Fans also got an opportunity to send special messages to the singer. "Thank you for always being a part of my life and for changing it," Bieber fan Kayla told MTV News. Another fan, Julia, offered to hit the studio with Bieber, saying, "If you ever want to do a song with me, I'm available," while another Belieber was quick to add, "If you ever want to go out with me, I'm available."

On Twitter, Beiber's fans were also wild for "Mistletoe" and let MTV know what they would get the singer for Christmas. On savvy tweeter said she'd give the singer the "ability to trend on Twitter again" – a nod to the fact that Twitter had to change its algorithm to exclude the singer's name because mentions of the popster would make him the top trend at all times on the social network.

Be sure to catch up on Justin's interview and all the excitement by watching MTV First: Justin Bieber and check out more fan reaction from the event after the jump. It made for a merry early kick-off to the holiday season here in the MTV Newsroom. Read More...

There are a slew of new music videos debuting this week. Beyonce kicked things off when she dropped her video for "Love On Top," an ode to all things '80s and boy bands. We would be perfectly excited if Beyonce was the only superstar releasing a new clip.

But, of course, she's not.

Who else is gifting us with new videos this week? Well, some rather major artists are getting their premiere on this week. Justin Bieber will drop his holiday-themed video for "Mistletoe" on Tuesday and both Britney Spears and Rihanna are set to also premiere new videos this week (exact days are for Brit and RiRi's highly anticipated clips have not yet been announced).

Brit Brit will get her bad girl on, alongside real life love Jason Trawick, in the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed video for "Criminal," and Rihanna takes us to Belfast for her clip for the Talk That Talk track "We Found Love."

We're excited for all these videos, so picking the one we're most excited for has become a huge dilemma. So, we're turning it over to you guys...

SANTIAGO, Chile — The screams started early, like around 1 PM, a full eight hours before Justin Bieber took the stage at the Estadio Nacional on Saturday night. Actually, they started well before that, like on Friday morning, when the first throngs of True Beliebers began setting up camp on the street outside, passing the hours chanting, singing ("Baby" was a particular favorite), and, of course, screaming. Always screaming.

If you've ever attended a Bieber concert, you know what I'm talking about. His fans, young and overwhelmingly female, seem incapable of containing their excitement, and as such emit a particular high-pitched squeal, one that is near constant (though it tends to flare up every so often, like whenever a car with tinted windows drives by, or when Justin bobs his shoulders just so). But on Saturday night in Chile, things seemed to have been taken to another level — by my estimation and according to several folks in his inner circle — because not only were the screams incredibly loud, and constant, but there was a general level of insanity that bordered on, well, insane.

Make no mistake about it, Chile was ready for some Justin Bieber. His face was shown on national news every hour on the hour, his fans shut down the W Hotel (thanks to a report that he was staying there on Friday night, despite the fact he didn’t arrive in the country until Saturday), and 55,000 packed inside the Estadio to catch his show … with several thousand more listening from the streets. Vendors hawked JB headbands and glossy photos, homemade hats and bootleg T-shirts. There were phalanxes of police, angry-looking German Shepherds, trucks festooned with riot-gear finery, and so many security guards milling about that you might’ve thought Barack Obama was in town. It was a very big thing. Read More...

The hair, the look, the swagger: it all came courtesy of Justin Bieber's road manager and appropriately enough his "swagger coach," Ryan Good. But like any good teacher, Ryan knows when to let his pupil go and use the things he taught him out in the world without his assistance.

On Twitter, it was announced that Ryan would no longer be one of the key guys in the Haus of Bieber. A one-time Hump Day Hottie, Good taught the teen star everything he knows about being cool. He is kind of like Jean-Ralphio to Bieber's Tom Haverford, just going around spitting rhymes and doling out nicknames for people. (Note: We don't actually know if that happened, but we'd like to imagine it did.)

Ryan will be missed by us all, as well as Bieber and his team. Bieber tweeted this simple message for his former style guru, "@thatrygood love u man." Read More...

Earlier this year, Justin Bieber and Jimmy Fallon spoofed the ads for his perfume Someday and this week, Fallon is releasing the outtakes, full of karate kicks and the pair just having a really good time.

Dressed exactly like Bieber, with his classic swept bangs and signature leather jacket/T-shirt combo, Fallon opens the spoof looking into camera, whispering, "Someday, someday you'll look like this." From there hilarity ensues as Bieber and Fallon giggle their way through the outtakes with dance offs, messed up lines and good-natured ribbing.

Check out the clip, as well as our favorite messed-up lines, after the jump. Read More...
