Who knew shooting a music video in the Nashville countryside could be so … dangerous?

B.o.B. and Taylor Swift are fighting off all sorts of threatening wildlife on the set of their video for "Both of Us," the newest single off B.o.B.’s latest record Strange Clouds.

"There are bugs crawling on people, there are bugs trying to bite people," says Taylor, describing the hazardous shooting conditions. "There was one point, I looked over, and on B.o.B.’s shoulder is this giant spider…it was just hanging out there, just ready to kill him, and I saved his life by pointing it out."

Heroics aside, we can’t wait to get a look at the finished product, which B.o.B describes as "bigger than just B.o.B. and Taylor Swift. This is about all walks of life, all classes of society. It’s about everybody, really."

Taylor Swift

By Zachary Swickey

Country-pop darling Taylor Swift has been working away on her untitled fourth album and the singer has given us a glimpse into her writing sessions with a new video posted online that features songwriting collaborator Ed Sheeran.

Swift posted the brief clip on her Twitter page, which features Sheeran quietly plucking on his acoustic guitar – performing a rendition of his hit track "Lego House" – with Swift and an unnamed female sitting cross-legged and singing along with him.

Sheeran is a 21-year-old English singer/songwriter/rapper/producer, who has made a splash overseas this year. He won big at the 2012 Brit Awards, taking home Best British Male Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough of the Year. He also co-wrote the song “Moments” for boy band One Direction’s debut album.

Swift is actually the one who approached Sheeran. As a source told The Sun, she is “into her British music and became a massive fan of Ed … there is a mutual affection between the pair."

Other collaborators reportedly set to appear on Swift's disc include Dan Wilson, Butch Walker and Mark Foster of Foster the People.

The video has a quaint fly-on-the-wall feel as the trio appear to be relaxing on the floor of a kitchen as they sing away. Watch below! Read More...

Taylor Swift

By Meredith Goldberg-Morse

Taylor Swift recently hit the studio with English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran to collaborate on new material that could potentially appear on the follow-up to Speak Now.

Known in the UK for his successful debut album + (as well as his interesting new goat tattoo), the two-time Brit Award winner has collaborated on tracks for One Direction in addition to writing his own solo material. The two announced their collaboration earlier this month via Twitter, after Swift approached Sheeran to work on her new album.

Swift, as a source told The Sun, is "into her British music and became a massive fan of Ed…there is a mutual affection between the pair." The partnership with megastar Swift will surely garner more attention for Sheeran’s music on this side of the Atlantic, not to mention the added financial bonus—credit on an album track could earn him as much as £200,000.

For the time being, however, both seem to be focused on enjoying the artistic collaboration, with Swift tweeting, "Eating cheeseburgers, scribbling on guitars, writing songs with @edsheeran. : )." Sheeran confirmed this moments later with the equally upbeat reply – "In and out burger, defacing guitars and writing music with @taylorswift13 : )"

Hopefully, the smiley faces indicate that we can expect some pretty incredible songs from the duo in the near future.

Selena Gomez, Twitter

Taylor Swift must harbor no ill will about being punk'd so hard by Justin Bieber, because she hit the kitchen with his lady friend, Selena Gomez, to bake up some magic.

Gomez posted the above pic, as is, to her Twitter account showing herself and a friend baking cupcakes with Swift, who entertained them by strumming away on her guitar (no teardrops!).

"Because you need a best friend that's sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen. Oh and cupcakes... Cupcakes," Gomez wrote.

Adorbs!

Also, baking cupcakes is so Taylor Swift Being Taylor Swift, just like all the family friendly fun below!

Gaga and Macca

Each year, TIME names its 100 Most Influential People in the World and that much-touted list is often accompanied by supplementary lists, including this year's countdown of the "All-TIME 100 Fashion Icons." A number of our favorites made that list – though there are a few notable absences.

The majority of the list is composed of Designers and Brands, Models and Photographers, but many celebrities who inspired the direction of fashion over the years were rounded up under the broad category of "Muse." There are classic muses like Josephine Baker, James Dean, Farrah Fawcett, Jean Harlow, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Bettie Page and Princess Diana, whose signature styles the public tried to emulate (and still do – walk around the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg on a nice day and you are guaranteed to see feathered "Farrah" hair or short, blunt pinup-style bangs). Then there are the rockers: The Beatles, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and Madonna.

(First Lady Michelle Obama also made the list!)

The magazine goes in depth about Madonna's influence as a style icon, writing, "Embraced early as a fashion idol — especially for the young generation — Madonna never ceased to amaze, nor has she ever lost control of her look or her career. From bridal gowns to cone bras and from sexy menswear to Asian inspirations, anything Madonna touched was emulated by her legions of fans around the world."

Gaga is praised for being "as notorious for her outrageous style as she is for her pop hits."

We don't disagree with any of TIME's selections and understand they had a finite number of spots to fill, but, um, where are Beyonce and Taylor Swift – two modern stars whose off-stage style has had a direct impact on modern fashion? If you live outside of a major city, Swifts princess-meets-down home country chic style is about as ubiquitous as it gets. And while Gaga is of course a fashion icon, Swift (just as Madonna and MJ) actually impacts what people wear. just sayin.'

Do you agree with TIME's list? Let us know in the comments below.

Taylor Swift, Twitter

This week in Taylor Swift Being Taylor Swift, we have the return of Meredith.

Meredith, for those not in the know, is Swift's adorable cat and was named after the lead character on "Grey's Anatomy." This year's Academy of Country Music Awards will be Meredith's first, so it is up to our heroine to explain to her kitty how the online voting process for ACM Entertainer of the Year (Swift is also up for Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year) works.

She decided to make a video out of her efforts for her official YouTube channel. The mission of the clip is to drum up votes, and Swift and her unrelenting cuteness succeed admirably. The real star though is Meredith, who meows on cue to let her owner know she totally gets it.

Check it out after the jump and have a kitty freak out accordingly. Read More...

When we read that Taylor Swift had penned a song for America’s answer to the Royal Family, The Kennedys, we met this fact with very little shock and awe. It is Taylor Swift after all: lover of snow globes, Christmas trees and cardigan sweaters. So for her to be fascinated with America’s most fascinating political family, well, that’s just Taylor being Taylor.

The news of T’s Kennedy-themed track was shared by Rory Kennedy to ABC News. “She really just loves my mother which is so sweet,” Kennedy said. “I’m a huge fan of hers, I have young girls and we had been to a few of her concerts. I met with her at one of them and she had read a ton of books about our family. She was inspired and wrote a song.”

Swift had been spotted with Rory at Sundance, where the Kennedy screened a documentary about her mother called “Ethel.” The singer also opened up about her love for the fam in Vogue, when she shared, “The only time in my life I have ever been star struck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy. I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago. She is one of my favorites because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody. You know, eleven kids, all these exotic animals on their property. I’ve read a lot about them.”

Okay, while we anxiously await this new Taylor track (like will it be on her new album?), we have a few other suggestions of historical families that would make the perfect muses for TayTay. Read More...

Wearing a sunny yellow dress and pearls, Taylor Swift joined the Civil Wars on stage during their sold-out performance at the Ryman in Nashville to perform, for first time, their “Hunger Games” soundtrack song, “Safe & Sound.”

After some witty banter about the packed-to-capacity crowd and how she almost wore the band’s T-shirt on stage to perform with them, the trio launched into the ballad about trying to hold on to good in the face of lots and lots of terrible events (well that certainly does fit the themes of Suzanne Collins’s novel).

Post-performance, the twosome of the Civil Wars took to Twitter to thank the singer for hitting the stage with them. “An unforgettable night @TheRyman. Thanks to @taylorswift13 for debuting 'Safe & Sound' with us,” they gushed. “And thanks to all of YOU for being there.”

The T-Bone Burnett and Danny Elfman-curated soundtrack will also feature Arcade Fire, The Decemberists and even some vocals from its female lead, Jennifer Lawrence. Read More...

News that our favorite cardigan sweater enthusiast Taylor Swift has been offered the role of Eponine in "King's Speech" Oscar winner Tom Hooper's big screen musical adaptation of the classic Broadway show/Victor Hugo novel "Les Miserables," co-starring acting A-listers Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, has everyone in the MTV Newsroom in a tizzy.

If she chooses to take the role, will she be any good? We reached out to fans, who seem to want to give the Speak Now singer the benefit of the doubt, and personally think the country-pop superstar will do just fine in the role (can't you just hear her singing "On My Own" already?), but every time a singer puts on the acting cap the critics come out with their pitchforks to proclaim that the odds are against her and most singers make for pretty crappy actors.

Well, that's sometimes true. Madonna, who we love, hasn't had a great run on the big screen and Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera haven't has much luck in movies either. But there are plenty of examples of double-threat crossover successes. We've rounded up a few of our favorites after the jump. Read More...

The time has come!

Last week, we opened voting to find out which 2011 videos from fan-favorite artists Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Chris Brown were your favorites of the year and after several thousand votes were cast, we have the results!

So which videos ruled the roost in 2011? Check 'em out below.

Katy Perry, "The One that Got Away"

Katy's most recent clip dominated the competition, taking 54.76 percent of the vote. "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" held it up in second with 30.73 percent while Katy's spring smash "E.T." nabbed only 14.51 percent of the vote (probably because the visual spectacle is further back in people's memories than her more recent vids).

Read on for the fan-favorite videos from Swift, Brit, Queen Bey and Chris Brown! Read More...
