Were you dying to find out why “X Factor” host Steve Jones appears in a truck more than on a stage? Did you know that “The X Factor” judge L.A. Reid used to be a drummer in a Cincinatti R&B group called The Deele? (Think of them as The Whispers but with less awesome facial hair.) Wondering if Justin Bieber – who gets name-dropped approximately 53 times an episode – will ever make an appearance on the show? Well, then this video is for you!

I sat down with “X Factor” guru Simon Cowell and his judging cohort L.A. Reid and forced them to answer all my random, burning questions. Sure, we talked newsy stuff, too, but once I got the business out of the way, the fellas really loosened up and indulged my inner obsessive stan. Watch Cowell and L.A. giggle as we discuss the finer points of walking in slo-mo (a topic I seem to be obsessed with), exactly which part of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road” L.A. Reid wrote and whether we can expect the original line-up of Deele to reunite on the “X Factor” stage.

This might be my favorite four minutes of my entire career.

With this week’s episode of “Survivor: South Pacific,” we’ve officially fallen into that familiar early-season rhythm: a couple of characters remain consistent breakouts (bHantz, we’re looking at you), while the remaining players are either too under the radar to make an impression or are too obviously about-to-be-gone to give a hoot. To that end, this week brought another obvious boot, another person to be permanently removed from the game, and some typically classic Hantz moments. Survivors ready? Go and click past the jump for the full recap!

For a while there, everyone who was good at one thing thought they could act (remember all those Shaq movies?), then later, everyone who thought they were good at something else decided, hell, I can sing too.

But for every Gwyneth Paltrow and Zooey Deschanel, who can (mostly) carry a tune, there are a dozen Ethan Hawkes, Russell Crowes, Scarlett Johanssons and Steven Seagals who should have stuck to what they were best at.

Now, people who are not even necessarily good at … well, anything, are trying their hand at singing, because, why not, Paris, Leighton, Kim Kardashian, Brooke Hogan and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak did it, right? Read More...

Earlier this year, Justin Bieber and Jimmy Fallon spoofed the ads for his perfume Someday and this week, Fallon is releasing the outtakes, full of karate kicks and the pair just having a really good time.

Dressed exactly like Bieber, with his classic swept bangs and signature leather jacket/T-shirt combo, Fallon opens the spoof looking into camera, whispering, "Someday, someday you'll look like this." From there hilarity ensues as Bieber and Fallon giggle their way through the outtakes with dance offs, messed up lines and good-natured ribbing.

Check out the clip, as well as our favorite messed-up lines, after the jump. Read More...

As "America's Next Top Model" kicked off its all-stars season, Tyra Banks was on the hunt for a new permanent judge on panel. The first few episodes of the season feature guest judges like Ashlee Simpson and Nicki Minaj.

In the previous 16 cycles, "ANTM" audience members have seen a slew of different judges in the attempt to replace the infamous Janice Dickinson. Banks has experimented with former models Twiggy and Paulina Porizkova, both of whom left the show after a few seasons. The most recent judge was Andre Leon Talley, editor-at-large at Vogue.

None of these judges were able to reproduce the magic of "ANTM's" glory years with Dickinson being the loud-mouthed, blunt and often-times slightly crazy judge. Watching Dickinson berate a girl for her weight or dance around ridiculously during the panel made for some damn good television. And now here comes Kelly Cutrone, PR queen. We all remember her from "The Hills" and "The City" yelling at her interns and employees like it was her job (I guess it kind of was). After those series, Cutrone scored a show on Bravo called "Kell on Earth." If Tyra is trying to re-ignite the drama in her show, Cutrone seems like a good contender, with her foul mouth and steely hard-ass demeanor. We can definitely count on Kelly not to sugar coat any of her opinions.

Here are 3 reasons why Cutrone is the perfect fit for "ANTM." Read More...

Happy Endings

As a hard-hitting entertainment journalist, I make it my business to check out as many television shows, movies and new albums as I can. Because of this, I'm a discerning viewer and it takes a lot for a show to stick. The only shows I'd say I'm a regular viewer of are "Glee" (which is currently enjoining a reprieve after a dramatic season-to-season improvement), NBC's weirdo gems "Parks and Recreation" and "30 Rock," "Louie" (which wrapped up its amazing second season a few weeks back) and Emmy-winner "Modern Family." Late last season, I also decided to get back into "The Office," an old favorite that I'd given up, and am glad I did. Did you see the season premiere last week? It felt like a return to form.

(Note: I know I also should also be watching "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men," but I have a harder time getting into dramas, especially particularly heavy ones like "Bad." I like my drama on the uplifting side, like sadly departed "Friday Night Lights." Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!)

One show that popped on my radar last season was "Happy Endings." I enjoyed the show, but it was never must-see TV for me. I watched it when I caught it, but it never got a place on the DVR. Then this summer I caught up a bit online and found that beneath the occasionally manic dialogue and slightly overdone premise (six wacky friends living it up in the big city!) was a truly funny little show that deserves a fighting chance. We’re only three weeks into “Survivor: South Pacific” and already Brandon Hantz is in the running for most unhinged contestant of all time. His big dirty secret came out of the bag in this week’s episode, and despite attempts to shirk his Russellness, Brandon proved to his tribe that he’s still a true blue Hantz in the end. Details on that, some hidden immunity idol shenanigans, the first Redemption Island duel of the season and more await you past the jump!

If Gush and its guest list of geeks, sherpas and that fat kid on a Slip 'n Slide seem passé, you're no doubt ready for a few new hot-spot recommendations from "Saturday Night Live" city correspondent Stefon (hilariously brought to life by regular Bill Hader). So as a public service to all you club kids, we begged Hader at this week's "50/50" red carpet to reveal when Stefon would make his highly anticipated return to the Studio 8H stage.

As it turns out, Hader is as sadly in the dark as we are. "I have no idea," Hader replied. "Those usually come up on Thursdays. We'll be hanging out, and on Thursday, we'll be like, 'Why don't we do Stefon?' Sometime soon."

One thing Hader would more readily go on the record about was his line-up of dream guest hosts for upcoming "SNL” episodes. Read More...

Radiohead

By Steven Roberts

Once upon time, a Radiohead television appearance would’ve been big news here at MTV News. No, I won’t be beating that old drum in this blog post because that was totally like 15 years ago and the kids are f**king with "Twilight," Demi Lavato and Skrillex these days. Thankfully, I’m too old for that (the tender age of 26) and I’m still psyched every time I see Thom Yorke and the gang on TV and/or the Interwebs.

Last night, the band stopped by "The Colbert Report’s" Dr. Pepper Flavor Zone to talk and laugh – albeit in that aloof yet awkward Radiohead kind of way – about everything from their humble beginnings as school mates to the pros and cons of releasing their music independently. The group revealed that they had no plans to release a Christmas album, much to Steve Colbert’s chagrin – Colbert readily shares that he won a Grammy for his Christmas album, “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” – and were steadfast about their distaste of big corporations. Afterward, the group performed an unreleased track titled “The Daily Mail.”

Radiohead also performed a number of tracks from their newest release, “King of Limbs,” as well as my personal favorite Radiohead song, “The National Anthem” from 2000’s “Kid A.” Unfortunately these performances didn’t air, but they are all available on Colbert’s website along with an interview between Colbert, Yorke and Ed O’Brien about global warming. One of my favorite things about “The X Factor” is just how damn slick it is. Contestants’ auditions get treated like full-blown “Idol” performances with swooping shots and a lighting rig. Confessionals are held in a giant light box that’s part pearly gates, part Gap commercial. Pop hits underscore the entire episode top to bottom. This is one expensive party.

But my favorite fancy touch is the way the show introduces the judging panel. In the two-night premiere, Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and breakout star L.A. Reid strolled down the street in slow-motion, like “Reservoir Dogs” without the matching suits. (And, you know, the severed ear.) Beside being so damn pretty to look at, the over-the-top presentation is completely warranted. Cowell and Paula are rock stars in the reality TV genre. They’ve earned their glamour shots. (Nicole Scherzinger, on the other hand? Don’t get me started.)

Logistically, I wondered how difficult it would be to walk so fabulously, knowing the footage would eventually be slowed down to a snail's pace. Would you exaggerate your strut? Would you flip your hair more instinctively? Or, when you’re filthy rich like Paula and Simon, do you just always walk as if there’s a fan blowing in your face?

Last week, I had a quick chat with Ms. Abdul so obviously that was my first question. Why not go straight to the source, right?

Check out Paula’s adorable response below.
