Brad Pitt

By Dionne Buxton

Brad Pitt is still working hard to pry the foot out of his mouth after making a few ill-worded remarks about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

In a recent interview with Parade Magazine, Brad spoke candidly about his marriage to Aniston, the subtext of which was that it was, well, a bit boring. “I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out," he said. "It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t."

His comments sent #TeamAnniston into an uproar. It turns out people are more concerned with Brad hurting Jennifer's feelings than his admitted past drug use.

On “The Today Show” this morning promoting his new film, “Moneyball,” Brad took time to clean up his statements, saying that Jennifer is " good people” and that “there should be a statute of limitations on this." (We do not disagree with him on this point!) Read More...

Gwyneth paltrow

The king of musical television has his eye on a new adventure.

That’s right, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy now wants to conquer a musical movie starring none other than "Glee’s" favorite substitute teacher, Gwyneth Paltrow. Murphy wants to write an original movie starring Paltrow and Maya Rudolph, telling E! Online, "We want to do a musical together, I want to write an original movie for Gwyneth and Maya Rudolph, both of whom I'm great friends with."

You can’t deny the magic that happens when these two work together. In 2006, Murphy directed the film “Running with Scissors," a dramedy based on Augusten Burroughs 2002 memoir, starring Paltrow. Also, this year she won an Emmy for her guest appearance on "Glee."

Although, Murphy is being quite hush hush about his ideas for the new film, he has disclosed where his inspiration will come from. He really enjoyed Gwyneth’s character in "Country Strong," in which she played an alcoholic country singer.

"I loved 'Country Strong,'" Murphy revealed. "I love it when she's drunk and on the floor spitting up pills." Read More...

Rock n' roll and Hollywood will soon collide as Keith Richard's autobiography "Life" is reportedly being turned into a feature film. Although Richards claims he isn't in a huge rush to get this project moving, fans and industry buffs can't help but speculate who will play the legendary guitarist of The Rolling Stones. While a few names have been dropped, there is no clear answer to who will take on the challenge of portraying the man once described by journalist Nick Kent as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know."

The role will require great versatility, as the actor will have to portray Richards through the many tumultuous stages of his life, including years spent struggling with drug abuse. While there is plenty of room for opinion and debate over who could capture the notoriety of Keith Richards on the big screen, we thought of a few people who might have what it takes. Read More...

Today is the last day of August and that means fall is just around the corner. Not only is it our favorite season, it means all of our favorite TV shows will soon be returning, Oscar-caliber movies will start hitting theaters and some hot records will drop.

It was an awesome summer for entertainment. At the movies, we saw the biggest film franchise ever come to a fitting, well-made and moving conclusion with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," a bunch of blockbusters turned out to be better than expected ("Thor," "Captain America") and some legitimately good films turned into surprise box office success stories ("The Help," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "Bridesmaids," "Midnight in Paris").

As good as this summer's movies were, for us, however, this summer was all about music. We got a great collaboration record from Jay-Z and Kanye West, Watch The Throne, plenty of dance jams from Lady Gaga's Born This Way and our favorite album of the year so far landed in late June – Beyonce's 4.

Seriously, watch this and tell us she isn't the best thing since sliced bread:

So what is waiting in the wings this fall? Read on to see what we are most looking forward to in music, TV and movies. Read More...

Looks like our friends over at MTV RapFix better adjust their beat because there’s a hot new female MC on the block and she’s coming at you “in the style of Lil Wayne.”

Last night on “Conan,” Princess of Genovia Mia Thermopolis Anne Hathaway put her distaste for the paparazzi plaguing the set of “The Dark Knight Rises” into verse and busted out a hardcore rap:

Yo I’m a paparazzi / I don’t play no Yahtzee / I go pop pop pop pop pop / My camera’s up your crotch / See I tell the truth from what I see and sell it to Perez Hilty / Don’t call me skuzzy, makin money, that’s my job, celeb photography / What, hell no, I’m not needy / I’m legit, not stalkerazzi / Don’t act so hotsy totsy b**ch, I know that you from Jersey / pop pop pop pop pop / Scream all you, won’t make me stop / pop pop pop pop pop / I know you love to feel my pop

Ryan Reynolds

From MTV Movies Blog:

By Josh Wigler

"The Change-Up" opens today in theaters nationwide, offering the moviegoing public a body-swap comedy in case they're not interested in rising for "Apes." Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds star as two pals — one a lawyer and family man, the other a man-child cad — who pine for the other's daily existence, only to find their wishes granted with disastrous results.

Honestly, there aren't a lot of people in my life that I'd want to swap lives with. I already blog about movies for a living, so hey, things aren't so bad. But that doesn't mean there aren't people in the fictional movie space that I wouldn't trade places with for a day. There are a lot of those people.

Check out the top five movie characters I'd body-swap with after the jump! Read More...

Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried

From Hollywood Crush:

Ahhhh, Comic-Con! It's a place for movie gossip, a place for celebrity sightings and, of course, a place for seeing full-grown adults dressed up in spandex superhero suits without so much as a hint of embarrassment. But, above all, it is a place for GEEKS. Which is why, when MTV News' Josh Horowitz got a few famous people to sit down with him for our latest After Hours, we put them to the test with a little Game of Geekery. Which "Twilight" star knows his Tolkien trivia? Which sultry starlets are secret nerds? Can't anyone do a decent impression of Yoda anymore?! Find out, in...."GEEKS OR POSERS!"

Things get off to a sad start when Josh asks his assembled guests to begin by naming Elijah Wood's character in "Lord of the Rings." Amanda Seyfried stutters, "It's, uh... y'know. That guy?" before giving up. And Elizabeth Reaser and Nikki Reed look like a pair of deer in the headlights as they each look to each other for help. Bzzzzt! Posers! Deer-lookin' posers!!!

Watch the video, which also features Taylor Lautner, Justin Timberlake and new “Superman” Henry Cavill, after the jump. Read More...

Marc Mumford

By Zachary Swickey

Marcus Mumford might have more than his band Mumford & Sons' rising success to be thankful for in 2011, as the singer reportedly popped the question to his actress girlfriend, Carey Mulligan, over the weekend.

UK’s The Sun reports that Mumford asked his rumored bride-to-be while at the ritzy Babington House in Somerset, where she supposedly showed off her new bling to guests. “She was wearing a beautiful ring and didn’t seem to mind who saw it,” reported an onlooker.

Love has taken hold of the couple fast – the pair have only been dating for around five months. Carey – also a star on the rise with her Best Actress Oscar nom for "An Education" last year – had just broken things off with her old beau, Shia LaBeouf, a few months prior to meeting Mumford, who himself had just become single after breaking up with fellow folk singer Laura Marling.

There is much to be learned from the historical relationships between actors and musicians. Sometimes it’s a match made in heaven, other times it’s a countdown to extinction. Will it last between these lovebirds? Maybe … if they take our advice.

“Be Weary of the Wild”
Many ladies have an unforgiving fascination with bad boys (I’m looking at you, Heather Locklear and Denise Richards). These women can’t get enough of their boyfriend’s tattoos and piercings, but fail to realize the rock and roll beast is pretty tough to tame. Baywatch babes Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra learned heartbreak the hard way when things didn’t work out with their lovers, Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro, respectfully. I mean, who could keep those two dues on marital lockdown?

“Separation of Spouse and Career”
Most couples like their personal space, while others would leap at the chance to work with their spouse on the daily. Well, when it comes to the marriage of an actor and a musician, we think it’s best to just do your own thing. Gwyneth Paltrow, despite having a decent voice and appearing on Glee, has never recorded a duet with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Remember when J.Lo was Ben Affleck’s main squeeze and even appeared in her new music video? Yeah, things didn’t exactly work out for them, did they?
