Here in the MTV Newsroom, we rounded out our year with a look back at our favorite celebrity couples, best red carpet moments and biggest splits and asked you to let us know which stars topped your lists. Well, the results are in!

Nearly 30 thousand votes were cast in the Favorite Celebrity Couple of 2011 poll and it was a tight race between two pop stars that left everyone else in the dust. Britney Spears and Justin Bieber and their respective significant others, Jason Trawick and Selena Gomez, accounted for nearly 92 percent of the vote, leaving a scant 6.52 percent for RPatz and KStew, 1.43 for Jay and Beyonce and a measly 0.7 percent for Wiz Kalifa and Amber Rose.

So who took it? Well, Biebs and Selena scored 41.76 percent of the vote leaving recent birthday girl Britney Spears and new fiance Jason Trawick with a winning 50.22 percent.

For our favorite celebrities, the red carpet is the place to make a big statement. From outrageous fashion to borderline crazy antics, it all happens on the way into an event.

Check out MTV News' Most-Memorable Red Carpet Moments!

But who really brought their A-game to the carpet in 2011? Well, Lady Gaga for one. People will be talking for years to come about her arrival at this year’s Grammy Awards. No, she didn’t have on another meat dress. She arrived in an egg, silly! It had something to do with being in gestational creative state or something. Some thought it was pretty awesome, others considered it just plain weird. Love it or hate it, if you were watching, you won’t soon forget it!

Also causing a stir at the Grammy was our girl Snooki, who co-hosted MTV’s coverage with Sway Calloway. But the real buzz came from MTV’s own red carpets. At the Movie Awards, “Twilight” starlet Nikki Reed announced her engagement to “American Idol” finalist Paul McDonald (the pair wed in October). And at the VMAs, Justin Bieber introduced us to his snake, Johnson. His pet snake, a baby boa constrictor, just to be clear.

Then there was Beyonce. Oh, Queen Bey! Without warning the R&B superstar, who was one of MTV News' Top Newsmakers of 2011, showed up on the VMA red carpet in a striking orange Lanvin dress, and though she didn’t talk to the press, she caressed her belly in a way that pretty much said it all!

Yesterday, we gave a big shout out to our favorite couples of 2011 and asked which was your favorite (right now, it looks like you’re still basking in post-engagement afterglow with Britney Spears and Jason Trawick, but the Biebs and his lady love, Selena Gomez, aren’t far behind - vote here!) but today, we take a walk down a far more dreary memory lane to count down the biggest celebrity breakups of 2011.

Check out MTV News’ full rundown of 2011’s Biggest Celebrity Breakups!

Of course, the dissolution of Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage to husband Kris Humphries has dominated the headlines since it was announced on Halloween. Following their elaborate multimillion-dollar wedding and equally televised courtship, skeptics wondered (many of them very loudly) whether Kim and Kris’ marriage was even the real deal or a ploy to pull in ratings for the myriad Kardashian reality shows on E! and bring more tabloid attention to a family that can’t get enough of it. Stay classy!

Two other big-name divas filed for divorce from their respective husbands in 2011 as well: Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore. With Lopez’s career of an unexpectedly huge upswing after she joined “American Idol” in January, things reportedly started to get weird with husband Marc Anthony as she got super busy again with TV, movies and endorsement deals (goodness gracious does this girl have herself some endorsement deals!). By all accounts, she and Anthony remain friendly for the sake of their joint business endeavors and young twins, Max and Emme. For Moore, who at one time was the highest paid actress in the world, things were a little more cut and dry. After a long run of infidelity rumors, the “Margin Call” actress decided the time was right to walk away from her marriage to her much-younger husband, “Two and a Half Men” star (is there something about that role?) Ashton Kutcher.

Two other divorces make MTV’s list of the years biggest, though both are decidedly more low-key (and in one case, one might even say indie) than their headline grabbing counterparts in lost love. This year, hipster fave actress Zooey Deschanel and folkie hubby Ben Gibbard parted ways. As you’d expect from these two, the split was reportedly “mutual and amicable.” Another breakup we didn’t see coming occurred just before Valentine’s Day when Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz announced their split. Sure there were rumors, but these two always seemed to have each other’s backs. Le sigh!

Which breakup do you think was the biggest of the year? Vote in our poll after the jump! Read More...

While news of celebrity breakups tends to dominate the headlines, here in the MTV Newsroom, we’re most thankful for the lucky few who stick it out and show us that even in the hectic world of Hollywood, where temptation lurks behind every palm tree, true love conquers all.

Just look at our Favorite Celebrity Couples of 2011!

Whether they are relative newbies to the scene, like Justin Bieber, whose girlfriend Selena Gomez stood firmly beside him as he weathered a (pretty silly) paternity scandal, or established industry veterans like Jay-Z and Beyonce, who after almost four years of marriage (and nearly a decade as a couple) decided to take the next step and are getting ready for their first baby, we love it when a celebrity couple has each other’s back.

Two other happy couples also took a big step in 2011: Britney Spears and Jason Trawick and Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. Wiz and Amber caused a stir earlier this year when they started doing just about everything, including interviews, together and some pictures and Internet buzz kind of-sort of made it seem like they’d tied the knot. As if! Turns out, they’re just that in love and the media spectacle was their way of showing it off. Less showy and more traditional was our girl Britney, who said yes when former agent Jason asked her to marry him! Well … we take that back. We’re not sure we consider filming a naked shower scene with your flame, as B. did with Jason for “Criminal,” the epitome of traditional, but hey, this is Hollywood we’re talking about.

That brings us to our final favorite couple: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. They usually keep things pretty quiet, but finally started opening up about each other this year. With the film franchise that brought them together coming to a close next year, we wonder how long it will be before we start hearing engagement and baby rumors about these two? (Well, valid engagement and baby rumors, not the silly tabloid ones you see about them every other week.)

The time has come!

Last week, we opened voting to find out which 2011 videos from fan-favorite artists Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Chris Brown were your favorites of the year and after several thousand votes were cast, we have the results!

So which videos ruled the roost in 2011? Check 'em out below.

Katy Perry, "The One that Got Away"

Katy's most recent clip dominated the competition, taking 54.76 percent of the vote. "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" held it up in second with 30.73 percent while Katy's spring smash "E.T." nabbed only 14.51 percent of the vote (probably because the visual spectacle is further back in people's memories than her more recent vids).

Read on for the fan-favorite videos from Swift, Brit, Queen Bey and Chris Brown! Read More...

We don't always love what he has to say, but Chris Brown can be counted on to deliver first-rate hip-hop and R&B. His 2011 album F.A.M.E. was no exception, launching four successful singles ("Look At Me Now," "Beautiful People," She Ain't You" and "Next to You").

Like the four other stars (Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Beyonce) whose videos we showcased this week, Breezy had a humungous year. His gravity-defying, dance-centric performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August landed him at number seven on our top ten list of the year's best live performances. His album F.A.M.E. debuted at the top of the charts in mid-March, marking his first number one record in the U.S., and he walked away with two VMA nominations, for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration for "Look At Me Now."

So while "Look At Me Now" (above) is his most celebrated F.A.M.E. video, is it the fan-favorite? Check out the rest below and vote in our poll after the jump! Read More...

Beyonce had a big year in 2011 and we're not even talking about, well, you know!

Musically the queen of mainstream R&B had her game face on this year, releasing SEVEN music videos from her amazing album 4, each completely different from the one before it. We've been singing 4's praises for months on end, and each new video was an event worth celebrating.

Whether she was dancing up a storm in a post-apocalyptic world in "Run The World (Girls)" or throwing a trailer park fiesta in "Party," she was constantly changing things up with inventive visuals, clever concepts and evolving looks that, yes, sometimes played up (and other times downplayed) the world's most famous baby bump.

But which clip was the fan-favorite? Do you like your Beyonce super sexy ("1+1," "Best Thing I Never Had") or blissed-out and groovin' ("Love on Top," "Countdown")? Refresh your memory by checking out the clips ("Girls" is above, the rest are below) and vote in our poll after the jump. Read More...

Earlier this month, we were swooning all over the place about Britney Spears and her big 30th birthday. We even held a weeks-long March Madness-style tournament to find out which of her thirty-plus videos was the fan favorite. Ultimately, after nearly a million votes were cast (thanks again, y'all!) the winner was "I'm A Slave 4 U."

So that's settled.

What's not settled is which of her fantastic videos from just this year is your favorite. We decided to dedicate this week to finding out which 2011 videos by MTV Newsroom blog favorite artists were tops. So far we've opened up polling for Katy Perry and Taylor Swift (don't forget to vote! We'll let you know all of the results on Monday!). Now, it's B's turn.

Britney had a big year in 2011. She had yet another No. 1 record, Femme Fatale, which is arguably her best album to date. Fatale has yielded more top ten hits than any album in Spears' 12-year career. (Isn't that kind of an incredible fact, considering she's one of the most successful female artists ever?) She also hit the road for a massive world tour that took her across North America, Europe and South America, and scored a Video Music Award for Best Pop Video. And she should have been nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording for "Till The World Ends" … but what are you gonna do?

Spears released four videos this year for the Femme Fatale singles "Hold It Against Me," "Till The World Ends," "I Wanna Go" and "Criminal." Which was the best of the best? Check 'em out ("Hold It Against Me" is above, the rest are after the jump) and vote in our poll below. Read More...

This week in the MTV Newsroom, we're celebrating some of our favorite stars of 2011 by asking you, their loyal fans, which of their videos from the last year is your favorite. Yesterday, we opened things up with Katy Perry and today, in honor of her 22nd birthday, we're taking a look back at Taylor Swift's big year.

We love Taylor Swift in the MTV Newsroom. Sure, we sometimes have a little fun at her expense with our "This Week In Taylor Swift" posts, but it's because she's so dang adorable when she takes to her Twitter to post pictures of her kitten Meredith or homemade Christmas snow globes that there's nothing else to say other than "That's so Taylor!" Her genuine niceness and innate wholesomeness stands in sharp contrast with the behavior of most of her celebrity peers and it's something we're thankful for. There are, after all, only so many Kardashian divorce posts a blogger can write before he loses his mind. So, Taylor, thank you for being so authentically you all the time. You're a breath of fresh air!

The country-pop superstar ruled the charts in 2011. Speak Now, which was actually released in late-October of last year, kept on chugging along on the strength of several hit singles (and videos) and ended 2011 as the second biggest album of the year. Swift released five video off her well-reviewed album, which we think was shafted out of nominations in some of the bigger categories for next year's Grammys, in 2011.

Which one is the fan-favorite? Check them out ("Back to December" is above, the rest are below) and vote in our poll after the jump! Read More...

It's been a big year for Katy Perry. She broke long-held music industry records, scored a bunch of Grammy nominations (and is up for even more in 2012), won a boat load of awards and, very importantly, made some great music videos.

(This weekend, she also hosted "Saturday Night Live" and was pretty damn funny!)

While the video that won her the VMA for Video of the Year, "Firework," was actually released in 2010, she kept the quality level high with the three clips she released in 2011. But which one was her fans' favorite? Check 'em out below and vote in our poll after the jump!

"E.T."

Read on for "Last Friday Night (TGIF)" and "The One That Got Away" and to vote for Katy's best video of 2011. Read More...
