MTV News, Instagram

Superstars pass through the MTV Newsroom on a daily basis. Usually, they are in and out without much fanfare. They stop by to do their jobs and promote their projects, and we are here to facilitate that, conducting interviews, editing videos and writing up articles. A great time is had by all … it's a great gig if you can get it.

The staff here loves music and movies and the people who make those things happen, so everywhere you look, you see a famous face. Cardboard cutouts of Lady Gaga, Madonna and Lauren Conrad stand tall on our file cabinets, Lindsay Lohan's mug shots adorn the walls and all of our cubicles are filled with images of our favorite stars (to my own left is Nicki Minaj's black-and-white poster for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards that features the hip-hop superstar riding a motorcycle in a leather jumpsuit). The environment around here is just as chaotic, cluttered and fun as you'd imagine it would be.

On a wall in the middle of the newsroom is a poster of Chris Brown on a jet ski that one MTV staffer superimposed in front of a massive explosion. It was made here at our Digital Oasis image center a few years ago and until today was mostly just another funny image of a star whose every move we cover.

Brown swung through the newsroom today for an interview promoting his latest album, Fortune, and loved the homage. He enjoyed the poster so much that he agreed to be a good sport and strike a playful pose in front of it, as you can see above!

Just another day at the office!

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin are finally showing off the fruits of their labor. No, they haven't' collaborated on a track (though that would be… something…), the pop superstars have joined forces with MAC as the faces of their always A-list, socially aware MAC Viva Glam campaign for 2012.

In the photo, a dolled up Nicki, wearing a bright pink latex dress, pink hair and neon makeup, sits atop a motorcycle looking like her usual sexy self. Meanwhile a tatted up Ricky poses quite manically, holding up a giant pink lipstick. The shoot itself is full of graffiti art and looks a bit pieced together and photoshopped in that pop art kind of way.

Oh yeah, it's done in the way that renowned celebrity photographer David LaChapelle is known for. Did we mention he did the photos? Well, he did. Read More...

Rihanna Facebook

Rihanna is not one to be shy. Just see her recent video for 'We Found Love,' one of her rawest videos filled with sex and substances. Which is why we weren't surprised -- but still thrilled -- to see her recent exclusive social stunt.

Our friends at MTV Style first called our attention to Rihanna's Facebook page. Like the page and you immediately get access to dozens of photos of Rihanna unplugged. The Daily Mail counted up to 153 pics of the R&B beauty taken from vacation in Italy, working on her new album or just being lazy or funny. See More Photos From Her Online Album >>>

The latest issue of VMAN is about to hit newsstands and in the issue, the men's fashion magazine dives into the best music of 2011 and is spotlighting some names you may not be familiar with just yet but might want to start getting used to.

VMAN was cool enough to give MTV News an exclusive first look at a few of the gents included in their best-of roundup. Among those getting some love are John Maus, Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox and Girl's frontman Christopher Owens (above). These are some seriously talented guys we're sure you'll be hearing a lot about.

Did we mention that they're pretty easy on the eyes too? Not that that's a super important thing when it comes to a man and his music … but it doesn't hurt either. Read on for some exclusive excerpts from VMAN's interviews with Owens, Cox and Maus as well as a few more pics from the mag's best music of 2011 spread.

For those who only know Joseph Gordon-Levitt from his excellent work in television and film over the past 20 years or so, do yourself a favor and expand your fandom by heading over to hitRECord.org, Gordon-Levitt's collaborative production company/community and passion project. On Monday night, the roughly seven-year-old operation celebrated its creative success with the 2011 Fall Formal, a live performance event at which Gordon-Levitt served as emcee and performer, along with guest appearances by supporters and friends Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris, Gary Oldman and Sia, along with an audience full of hitRECord members and enthusiasts.

The spirit of the evening was lighthearted and welcoming, with a vaudeville-esque lineup of readings, short films and musical numbers. Also, everyone in attendance was encouraged to record however much of the show they wanted. The video below, which features Gordon-Levitt, hitRECord artist the Metafictionis and Hathaway, will give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Admittedly, I expected to be further charmed by Gordon-Levitt. He is just so darn talented and passionate and genuine, it's irresistible and inspiring watching him move smoothly from narrating to dancing, to singing, to drumming to improv'ing. He's an artist in every sense of the word, and while his name is attached to hitRECord and he emceed the program, it is obvious that Gordon-Levitt truly enjoys creating art that comes from a collaboration and collection of other equally talented individuals.

Also, when you get Oldman, Hathaway, Harris and Sia to come in and play with you during their time off, you know you are loved.

It was hard to pick a favorite moment, but when Oldman got up onstage to read a "Tiny Story" called "The Man With a Turnip for a Head," written by hitRECord artist Metaphorest, he brought down the house.

"It's going to be hard to top that," Gordon-Levitt told the crowd as Oldman left the stage. Yet somehow, I'm sure he will figure out a way to do just that for next year's event.

What do you think of Gordon-Levitt's passion project, hitRECord? Tell us in the comments!

Lady Gaga is not only a worldwide pop star but also a fashion icon, but lately her choices can be considered boundary-pushing even for a forward-thinker like herself. She gave a TV interview in Malta while wearing a strange mask, and she appeared on German television wearing something that looked like a giant lamp shade. But her most recent appearance is her most out-there yet. While doing another interview in Germany, Gaga showed up wearing a top made entirely out of sewn-together Kermit the Frog dolls. She even had a Kermit-based hat that somehow stayed atop her head. The effect is surreal, to say the least.

What do you think: Is Lady Gaga's fashion sense bold or bleccch? Drop your thoughts in the comments or make your voice heard at Your.MTV.com.

Jamie Foxx has won an Oscar and he's been nominated for several Grammys, but for some of the boys over here at 1515 Broadway, his crowning achievement at an awards show came over the weekend during Spike TV's Guys Choice shindig.

The "Ray" star and Halle Berry shocked many by tongue-wrestling during a moment that was as confusing as it was steamy.

Foxx presented Berry with an award (really, does it matter what it was for when you look at that pic?) and the "Catwoman" vixen was reeeeallllly appreciative. Recalling the time exuberant Adrien Brody won Best Actor at the Academy Awards and planted one on Berry, this time she was the one who puckered up, laying a dazzling kiss on Foxx that left the comedian, ahem, grabbing for more of Berry. She seemed to have a handful herself during the lip-lock.

At press time, there was no word on whether the two dated in the past, whether the smooch was planned or whether Berry (who is currently in a relationship with model Gabriel Aubry, the father of her child) just wanted to make good TV.

Katy Perry graces the cover of the latest Complex magazine, and inside the pop rocker ditches her trademark bright attire -- you know, the whole fruit thing -- for a much racier, sexier look.

"It's a bit of a darker side of me, a little S&M," Perry told the mag for their June/July issue. "Though I did have to hang from a cage, which could have easily gone wrong with the five-inch heels I was wearing."

LeBron James and company might have left Orlando on Sunday night with their heads down after losing to the Magic, leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers down 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

But Cavaliers minority owner Usher was in good spirits as he took in the NBA playoff series from his courtside seat, and he even brought a friend — embattled R&B singer Chris Brown — with him to Game 3. Of course, earlier this year Usher courted controversy by telling Brown, on a video posted on Jermaine Dupri's Web site, to "have a little remorse" over his alleged altercation with Rihanna; photos had emerged of Brown gleefully riding a jet ski that week. Usher later apologized for the remark.

The two singers chatted it up throughout the game, which may have provided Brown with some distraction from his upcoming court appearance later this week.
