Miley Cyrus, Twitter

By Elizabeth Lancaster (@lizzydl)

Miley Cyrus took to Twitter yesterday to debut a series of selfies, showing the world JUST how blonde a brunette can be.

When she ditched her naturally brown mop in July, she explained, "Now that I’m blonde I gotta give duck lips in every photo." Which begs the question what photo face this new platinum look will require? With little to no inhibitions about herself or her lifestyle choices, she always does what she originally promised the world she would do – she's just being Miley.

Check out her new look:

Some may think this new look is in preparation for her impending marriage to one of Hollywood’s most attractive men, Liam Hemsworth, but fear not – the 19-year-old singer told Marie Claire that she plans on having a long engagement.

"Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don't really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement." Amen!

We cannot wait to see what new hair styles and funky fashions Ms. Cyrus pulls out in the lead up to her wedding to Hemsworth. Blessedly, it seems like we will have lots of time.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert's latest album Trespassing debuted at #1 back in May, and now, nearly three months later, the former "American Idol" contestant is reassuring his dedicated fans that he does plan to hit the road in support of the set … but not until "the time is right."

The glam-pop star hit Twitter last night (August 2) to tell the nation of Glamberts that a Trespassing tour will indeed happen but that they might have to wait a while longer. "Have no fear, a Trespassing Tour WILL come. When the time is right," Lambert tweeted. "Trust me Glamberts! I won't let you down."

Lambert's second album Trespassing topped the charts with 77,000 copies sold in its opening frame. The singer's 2009 debut, For Your Entertainment, entered the chart at #3 and has gone on to sell more than 1 million copies.

Lady Gaga is touring the world on her "Born This Way Ball" tour, but she's already thinking about what's next. Hard at work on her hotly anticipated new album, Gaga tweeted a link to her littlemonsters.com social networking website with the caption "new ink new album." At the link, fans were greeted by a pic of the glamorous singer's new tattoo.

Situated on her right arm, the ink reads "ARTPOP" in simple black ink. Check it out:

Given the message in her tweet, some are speculating that the tattoo may have something to do with the title of her new album. Gaga has not revealed the name of the set, though she has performed a new song on her "BTW Ball" that may appear on the album and has been talking up the new record during her concerts.

"Let's just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity. And I feel that, on the next album, there's a lack of maturity, it's a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility," Gaga told concertgoers in Perth, Australia.

She also announced that she will unveil the album title in September. She's had the name picked out for a while, as she revealed to MTV News in December. Watch:

Lady Gaga has been on a brief break from her "Born This Way Ball," having concluded the Australian leg of the tour on July 8 in Perth before storming Europe beginning August 14 in Sofia, Bulgaria. So what's she been up to? Well, we know she filmed a small part in director Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills," but lately it seems she's been busying herself the way many of us have – by watching the Olympics.

Yesterday, she revealed on Twitter that the Games are making her emotional, saying, "The Olympics is the best ever. But I went through a whole pack of tissues last night. Watching hard working athletes achieve their dreams."

She seems to have a particular affinity for women's gymnastics, cheering on Team USA with some encouraging words: "Those girls are tearing the floor up for the USA! #Olympics." She continued, "Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! Just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There's no 'I' in team."

One of the members of the home team, 16-year-old McKayla Maroney, caught wind of Gaga's support and fangirl-ed out a little bit, responding to Mother Monster, "Thanks for watching @ladygaga!! <3 This team loves you & your music!! I also heard you were a gymnast??"

The pop diva seemed as excited by the back-and-forth as the teenage athlete.

"@mckaylamaroney tweeted at me! Why didn't anybody tell me!!! DEAD. You were brilliant give all the girls a kiss for me," Gaga tweeted this morning (August 1), continuing, "And no I did gymnastics for like a weeks and then dropped out for ballet!"

For her part, the talented Maroney thinks Gaga still has a shot. "Aww I will<3 Oh very cool!! Your so amazing I bet you still have a shot at gymnastics! 2016 maybe," she responded.

And so our two favorite national pastimes – celebrities and sports – collided spectacularly, and in the spirit of the Olympic games it was nothing but love!

For those of you who haven't yet recovered from the excitement of last week’s big Mariah Carey news, get ready—the singer has just released the cover art (below) for her new single "Triumphant (Get ‘Em)" featuring Rick Ross and Meek Mill as well as a photo of herself on the set of the song’s music video.

The endlessly entertaining star took to Twitter with a visual teaser of her upcoming track, announcing to fans, “On the set of the TRIUMPHANT (Get ‘Em) video shoot. Get ready for a triumphant week, we have surprises every day!” Accompanying the tweet was a photo of Mariah lounging on a couch in true diva fashion. She followed up with a picture of the single’s cover and the message “Here's the cover of my new single #Triumphant!! World premiere this Thursday, Aug 2. GET 'EM!”

Speaking of triumphant weeks, the singer inked a deal last Monday to replace Jennifer Lopez as a judge on the next season of "American Idol." Based on our knowledge of what happens when Mariah Carey is combined with live television, we’re pretty sure this season will be a must-see.

The singer recently explained the song’s origins via Twitter, posting “I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics.”

With the single set for an early-August release, we can’t wait to see what other triumphs lay in store for the inordinately talented and unpredictably amusing diva.

Kristen Stewart

Twitter is famously a forum where you can say just about anything about just about anyone without any consequences. You can blast your mouth off, say terrible, terrible things for no good reason about people you've never met and sometimes even get away with threatening people.

Of course, the people getting trashed talked the most on the social network are celebrities. People just love to say horrible things about singers and actors, and last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the host had multiple stars read and react to hateful tweets about themselves.

Justin Bieber, Zooey Deschanel, Kristen Stewart, Katy Perry and Snooki are among those who get a lion's share of vitriol tossed their way through social media, mostly because they just aren't some people's cup of tea. But if Twitter has taught us one thing, it's that every individual is entitled to share their self-important, hyperbolic opinion with as many people as possible because the things they have to say are extremely valid and worthwhile …. like, "I would rather chop my arm off and f**k myself with my detached limb than watch 'Katie [sic] Perry the movie.' What the f**k is wrong with the world." We're really glad someone shared that.

Perry seems to be too. "I'd pay to see that," she says in response to the tweet. Bieber, Stewart, Deschanel, Snooki and more all get in on the act as well, in a funny clip that will hopefully make people realize their thoughtless words can make them the subject of ridicule too.

These stars have a much better sense of humor about their haters than we think we could muster!

Rihanna

By Zachary Swickey

While pop star Rihanna is a notorious party gal, she’s not typically associated with major party fouls… like, say, breaking her toe while attempting to play barkeep on vacation in France.

Poor Riri was just trying to have some fun when she dropped a bottle on her toe. Her assistant, Jennifer Rosales, captured the moment in true 21st Century fashion – by Instagram-ing the photo with the caption, “It is not a vacation until someone breaks a toe.”

Rihanna echoed Rosales’ statement, tweeting, “Bartending last night, dropped a bottle, broke it, my foot is still bleeding!!!”

The singer has been relaxing with her gal pals on an extended vacation in the French Mediterranean on a luxury yacht owned by Magic Johnson. She's also reportedly been hosting some interesting vacay companions.

Rapper Ludacris tweeted that he was headed to Ri’s vacation destination, writing, “St Tropez France here I come," and soon after, Rihanna's ex chris Brown responded that he was joining him.

"This ni**a Luda flying the damn helicopter! I'm sh**ing bricks right now" and "Landed on the boat!" Brown said via Twitter, according to our pals at MTV RapFix.

Shortly thereafter, Rihanna tweeted, “Touch down baby, help me pick out my fit,” which suggested to many that Brown was joining Rihanna on vacation. Just last month, the former lovers were seen allegedly sharing champagne in NYC.

Chris Brown’s rep was quick to shoot down the rumors, insisting that Brown is indeed vacationing in St. Tropez, but with his current model girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

Brown’s rep told HollyScoop, “CB [Chris Brown] is in France to shoot a music video for Swizz Beatz album (sic) and Ludacris is in it. It's Swizz's song. Karrueche is there with him... They never broke up.

"He is not on her (Rihanna's) yacht. There is no Rihanna connection,” he continued.

Justin Bieber

By Zachary Swickey

Pop star Justin Bieber is a force to be reckoned with on Twitter, and now he's harnassed the power of his 25 million-strong social media fanbase to change the life of an aspiring young singer he feels is a star in the making.

Bieber has given 13-year-old Madison Beer the same ringing endorsement he bestowed upon Cary Rae Jepsen … and we all know how that turned out! The pop superstar first showed his enthusiasm for Beer’s talent on Tuesday (July 17) when he tweeted a link to a YouYube video of her cover the Etta James’ classic “At Last.”

“wow. 13 years old! she can sing. great job. #futurestar,” he wrote along with the link.

That kind of endorsement from Bieber is all it takes to become a trending topic, which happened for Beer less than 24 hours later and increased views for the video to 222,243 at the time of this writing.

“@justinbieber OMGOGMFHAHDBSBAWHEBSBSHHWEHHDXHSHHAFBBAGEEHYBT I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING. I AM CRYING,” an elated Beer wrote to her nearly 20,000 Twitter followers.

Biebs kept showing the love too – he later sent Beer’s mash-up of Jepsen’s hit "Call Me Maybe" and his own single “Boyfriend” to Jepsen herself, and did the same with Beers' cover of a Bruno Mars hit as well.

“haha. @carlyraejepsen watch this. pretty funny. reminds me of my old videos. #MashUpFReakOUT,” Justin wrote. He continued, “this is just how i started. i love it. @brunomars u gotta see one. She is great. #STAR."

It appears Bieber is becoming quite the talent scout as Beer is now reportedly in talks to sign with the singer's manager Scooter Braun, who discovered him on YouTube and now also represents Jepsen.

Jepsen was a little unknown 26-year-old Canadian singer, before Bieber helped make her a sensation. Bieber called her single "Call Me Maybe" “possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever heard.” The song has gone on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Shirley Manson

By Zachary Swickey

Alt-rockers Garbage returned this year with their first album in seven years, Not Your Kind of People. While we couldn’t be more excited that the group has returned to the scene, it’s brought some creepers out of hiding … one of whom has reportedly been targeting frontwoman Shirley Manson with online death threats.

The singer has been subjected to a barrage of abusive messages from a Twitter user named @Gunn2urhead, according to The Daily Beast, accusing her of (among other things) being a witch and cheating on her husband. It’s clear why Manson felt her life was in danger. All told, the band received 735 tweets for the user, most of which were directed at Manson. Manson’s manager Paul Kremen alerted the LAPD to the cyberstalking, and they have since issued a search warrant to Twitter requesting information about the account.

As one would expect, the messages are full of crazy. Take for example, “EVERY NIGHT AND DAY SHE’S MESSING WITH ME!!!” or how about, “WHY DO HURT ME TO LET ME KNO UR HERE.”

The warrant states: "[Manson] stated that she is in great fear for her and her family's safety due to the nature of the threats, the sheer volume of them and the 'crazy' sounding messages being posted towards her. She stated she has never had anything like this on this level occur to her and she is very frightened and wants the threats to be investigated fully."

The mysterious @Gunn2urhead handle has been silent since June 21. Police, however, are still investigating the incident and hope to bring charges against the user once he’s been found.

Garbage re-entered the musical spotlight when they dropped their fifth studio album in May after seven long years. The album is their first since ‘05’s Bleed Like Me and was released on the band’s self-started label, Stunvolume.

Lindsay Lohan is on the road to redemption, and now she's been blessed by one of pop's biggest deities: Lady Gaga.

LiLo got Gaga's unofficial thumbs up earlier this week when the pair hung out at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles. Yesterday (July 11), in a series of tweets that Gaga has for some reason since deleted (but which the pop savants at ONTD captured first), the pop star joked with the actress about ordering a cucumber and knife at the famed hotel.

"When you ordered a cucumber and a knife to the bar last night I thought you were gonna perform a vasectomy #justaskinnyb**ch," Gaga tweeted at Lohan.

Lohan responded with, "#skinnysnack1 @ladygaga hahaha."

Gaga's decision to ditch the tweets* but leave the image up on her Instagram account may have something to do with the hashtag she chose. The pop diva got flack earlier this year when she tweeted about eating a salad while craving a cheeseburger with the hashtage #PopStarsDontEat.

The tweet upset fans who thought Gaga was making light of a serious issue and even inspired a response from the National Eating Disorder Association, who hit their own Twitter account to respond, saying, "Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?"

We will say that as long-time fans hoping that Lohan keeps it together and gets her career back on track, we are happy to see that she's hanging around a put-together star like Gaga instead of the crew she used to roll with!

*Ed note: Thank you to eagle-eyed commentor gagaloola who let us know that Twitter made some recent changes to celeb accounts, so while Gaga's tweets with Lohan do not appear in her feed when you visit her Twitter, a simple click on "All" reveals they have not been deleted. Carry on!
