Some Encouraging Words For Katy Perry From Her Buddy Rihanna

Katy Perry has been laying low since the announcement of her divorce from Russell Brand. Rumors abound about where Perry is and what frame of mind she's in (some say the split was pretty amicable and that she's doing just fine, others say she's a sad, teary-eyed mess), but our favorite bit of gossip has it that the Grammy-nominated "Firework" songbird is getting comfort from her close friend and sister in chart-topping pop, Rihanna.

As source tells Britain's The Sun (via MTV UK) that Perry contacted the "We Found Love" singer after learning that Brand filed for divorce and Rihanna invited her friend to join her in her native Barbados to regroup. "Katy was embarrassed about calling her parents as they'd been so against Russell in the first place, but Rihanna was a great support for her and she really helped to calm her down," the source claims. "When Katy told her the news, she suggested flying down to Barbados to stay with her and her family."

(For what it's worth, a similar report in The Mirror claimed Perry and RiRi were instead Mexico-bound for a girls' only vacation.)

If Perry is indeed getting a little post-split TLC from Rihanna, we know she's in good hands because Princess Ri is eternally doling out the best advice on Twitter. Rihanna Asks Her Fans To Pick Her Next Single

Rihanna is on a roll and it doesn’t look like the busy pop princess is planning on slowing down any time soon.

Just days after the release of her video for “You Da One,” the second single from her hot, hot, hot album Talk That Talk, RiRi is already thinking about what’s next and she took to Twitter to get some fan input on what her next single should be.

“I need answers!!!! #NEXTSINGLE #TTT,” the superstar tweeted earlier today. Less than an hour of being inundated with responses from her over 11 million followers later, Rihanna again hit the social network to say, “Ok DONE!!!! I like what I see ... and decisions are MADE!!! #NEXTSINGLE."

But while she didn’t post exactly what song she’d chosen, she assured fans, “We on da same page ... (for the most part).”

We’re partial to "Where Have You Been" ourselves (girl, that breakdown is fierce), but what do we know? "Talk That Talk" or "Roc Me Out" would be just fine with us too.

Avery Jessup-Donaghy Hits Twitter To Address Concerns About Kidnapper's Death

The death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il has put the U.S. on alert, but surely no concern is more pressing than what will it mean for Avery Jessup-Donaghy.

Avery is, of course, the wife of Jack Donaghy, Vice President of East Coast Television and Microwave Oven Programming for General Electric Kabletown and was kidnapped by Jong-Il while on assignment in North Korea as part of the "Hot Blondes in Weird Places" initiative. When we last heard from Avery, she'd been married off to Kim Jong-un, Jong-il's son and now the "Great Successor" to the leadership of North Korea.

If you have no idea what we're talking about, it's probably because you don't watch NBC's "30 Rock." (PS. What's wrong with you?!) What we described above is the plotline for Elizabeth Bank's character on the Emmy-winning sitcom, and now Banks, who will play Effie Trinket in the much-anticipated adaptation of "The Hunger Games," has taken to Twitter to address concerns about Avery. Demi Moore Finally Answers The Question We've All Had On Our Minds: What Is She Going to Do About That Twitter Handle?

We have to admit that we were curious what known Twitter-file Demi Moore was going to do with her Twitter handle (@mrskutcher) after she filed for divorce from hubby Ashton Kutcher. It seems we weren't the only ones.

After weeks of keeping quiet on the matter, Moore took to Twitter to issue a "shut the f**k up" notice cease-and-desist notice to the Nosy Nelly's who kept inundating her with the question. "Changing my Twitter name isn't a top priority right now. Sorry it bothers so many of u," Moore tweeted today. "Should I not tweet until I do? does it really matter?"

Well, that answers that.

Big Time Rush Answer Your Twitter Questions

The boys of Big Time Rush have been going non-stop since they released their second album, Elevate. They are gearing up for "Better With You," their first US headlining tour, in February and their new movie "Big Time Movie" hits theatres next year.

Now, we know that these boys have a very loyal fan base, which is why when they stopped by MTV News recently, we had to ask them YOUR questions.

Is Madonna's Kiss Her Way Of Anointing The Next Big Thing?

So everyone's going crazy because Nicki Minaj tweeted that she locked lips with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, on the set of the music video for "Give Me All Your Love," the buzzed about first single from Madonna's forthcoming 12th studio album.

Apparently, kissing Her Madgesty is oh-so good … "OH MY f'ingggg Gahhhh!!!!! MADONNA jus kissed me!!!!! On the lips!!!!!!! It felt sooooo good. Soooo soft!!!! *passes out* aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Nicki tweet-screamed to all of her Brabz and Kenz late last night. She continued her swoon-athon with a series of tweets (which you can check out after the jump!) for over an hour after.

Which got us thinking about what a kiss from Madonna really means. Of course, any time Madge locks lips with another lady, our mind is immediately drawn back to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, where the Queen and the Princesses – that's Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, for those who don't know (and how is life under that rock?) – performed a "Like A Virgin" medley that included one of the most famous lip locks of all time.

In its own weird way, a lot of people read the performance and kiss and Madonna's way of anointing Spears as her pop successor. Sure, she kissed Christina too, but that's not what anyone remembers. They remember that jaw-dropping lip lock with Spears, who was then at the height of her global fame and still a few years removed from the personal drama that nearly consumed her career (blessedly, she got the help she needed and is back and as good as ever today).

Alec Baldwin's Long And Awesome History Of Speaking His Mind on Twitter

A flight attendant was the latest subject of a Twitter outburst episode from Alec Baldwin after the actor was booted from a plane at Los Angeles International Airport for playing Word with Friends on his cell phone as his plane was about to take off for New York.

Baldwin took to Twitter and said, "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt."

Baldwin's rep told People magazine, "Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing Words with Friends while parked the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it." Baldwin caught a different flight to New York after the incident and was sure to tweet that the flight attendants on his next flight looked "smarter."

He later added, "Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants."

American Airlines commented on too, taking appropriately to Twitter to issue a statement: "Our flight attendants were following federal safety procedures on electronic devices when aircraft door is closed."

'Teen Mom' Farrah Vs. Kourtney Kardashian Kick Off This Week's Twitter Feuds

It’s a new week and that means that already there’s some Twitter drama brewing up. It seems that "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham and the eldest Kardashian sister, Kourtney, are getting all up in each other’s business on the social networking site.

It all kicked off shortly after Kourt announced that she’s preggers with her second child with longtime beau Scott Disick. Farrah had this message for the thirtysomething-year-old millionaire: "Im Shocked Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant again, Did she not learn anything from TEEN MOM? Maybe its a fake pregnancy like kims wedding SAD… Double standards in this world? Yes & guess what !age and money honestly do not change a persons poor choice . Quit making excuses:)"

To which Kourtney had this to say: "Why would I have anything to do with teen mom? I'm 32 years old! I may look young honey, but don't get it twisted. :) "

Weekly Twitter Drama Roundup

With millions of inane tweets being pumped out every day, it can be hard to keep track of actual celebrity gossip, feuds and random observations that make Twitter so much fun. So we’re rounding up the week in Twitter drama – or Twama for those of you not yet sick of cutesy word combos!

Nicki Minaj vs. Cher

So here’s what went down: A fan told @Cher that @NickiMinaj dissed her in the song "Did It On 'em" (which came out a full year ago, way to be a topical, pot-stirrer) to which Cher casually replied, "I've seen lots of people come & go! No biggie!" (I mean, to be fair to all involved, she has – she's Cher!) This brought the #Barbz out with pink pitchforks in hand explaining the reference as a metaphor (I still don’t get it). Nicki asked her to "#stopit5" (the number of fingers you see when you tell someone to stop it?) and Cher quickly apologized for jumping to conclusions, but when overzealous fans wouldn’t back off, Cher told them to "Gimme a fkn break! Said I was dumb." Then all parties deleted their tweets. (For what it's worth, whether you can ever truly delete a tweet is debatable.)

Many celebs bypass the PR machine and use Twitter to personally address rumors or make statements. Some are better than others (ahem, Ashton), but Katy Perry usually nails it. She took to her Twitter account to shoot down pregnancy and divorce rumors in one clever shot.

Avril Lavigne Answers Your Twitter Questions!
