Think the bustling energy of The Klaxons, Bloc Party and The Kills – so says electronic DJ producer Steve Aoki when describing the latest addition to his Dim Mak record label family, New Ivory. The band features three gents – Alessandro, Mickey and Andy – all hailing from London, England, and according to Aoki their sound is an explosion of British rock that he’s super-pyched for fans to hear. The band’s first video for “Something You Should Know” is out online, but Steve Aoki wants to know what YOU think of New Ivory!

Check out the video below!

“New Ivory is a young band,” Aoki told MTV News. “Actually, their first album is not coming out until next year, 2012. ‘Something You Should Know’ is their first single off the album. When I heard the band first it was about a year and half ago. I go their demo, 'The Night,' which we put out six months ago as a soft launch for the band.”

“It’s that same instantaneous energy that made me want to sign them," he continued, "that I got when I heard Block Party in ‘03, or The Kills in ’02, or when I heard the Klaxons for the first time. There's something amazing about the songwriting and the vocals and all that. Like a juvenile oasis. The music is pure British rock." Read More...

We agree with Steve Aoki (as he mentioned on his recent "Aoki’s House" satellite show): Felix Cartal has a HUGE song on his hands! The song is called “Don’t Turn On The Lights,” and much like when Afrojack hit American radio with “Take Over Control,” Felix’s “Lights” is a bit more mainstream than his fans might be used to. The song features Polina, a vocalist who’s collab’ed with Aoki and Kaskade to name a few, and in advance of the single dropping December 13, MTV got an exclusive teaser of the music video. Check it out!

“Don’t Turn On The Lights,” is the first single off the electronic DJ-producer’s upcoming album Different Faces, a project meant to show a departure in the artist's sound.

“The first single 'Don't Turn On The Lights' is a chance for me to try some more memorable melodies," Cartal told MTV News. “I really wanted to create something that people could hum along to, something that they would recognize instantly, but still with powerful, hard-hitting production behind it. Polina's vocals really helped bring this song together to make it one of the catchiest songs I feel that I've ever produced.” Read More...

Chelsea Handler will continue to ask celebrities the most uncomfortable questions in late night for some time longer. The one-time VMA host and current late-night staple, as the host of "Chelsea Lately," has just inked a very sweet new deal with E!

CNN reports that Chelsea's new deal will keep her on the network through 2014 hosting her show and swell her bank account with an additional $25 million. CNN further reports that as a nice "thank you" to her staff, she's handing out $1,000 bonuses.

"It's a great time for women in comedy," Handler said in a statement to Reuters about the lucrative deal, adding, "And it's a great time to have real breasts."

Fans of Chelsea also will have another season of her behind-the-scenes docu-series "After Lately" to look forward to. The new season kicks off on November 27, the same night as the new season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York." It's one of many projects Chelsea has on her docket, including turning her bestseller, "Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea," into a TV series for NBC, which she'll co-star in and executive produce.

But, "After" is a project near and dear to Chelsea's heart, tucked away under her real boobs. "My favorite [project] is 'After Lately,'" Chelsea recently confessed to MTV News. "It’s a show that were doing behind-the scenes of 'Chelsea Lately,' so that’s been the most fun for me."

Sometimes, while covering red carpets, things get a bit hectic and reporters have to pool together for "grouped" interviews. They are not ideal, but on occasion this sort of group effort leads to the shared amazingness of picking up on the strange sound bites that celebrities might give.

On Monday night, we were at the Glamour Women of the Year event, and when "Glee" star Lea Michele arrived to do press on the red carpet, we had the pleasure of splitting time with her with the AP and New York magazine. Lea played it straight with us when we asked her about this week's sexy times "Glee" episode.

In the process of learning that the episode would teach us a lesson about life, we also learned that "Glee" co-star Jonathan Groff has a goat on his family's farm named … Lea Michele, and that that goat just had babies. So a big Mazel to Lea the Goat. Read More...

"Saturday Night Live's" 'Kim's Fairytale Divorce' skit pulled no punches in depicting the reality TV circus that follows Klan Kardashian everywhere.

While Kim, Kris and Bruce Jenner were the biggest targets in the skit -- Bruce's stretched face can't produce tears anymore so someone uses eyedrops -- Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were also targets.

So how would the sisters respond to the clip skewering the family that films together? With plenty of laughter and, of course, some tweets to show it all off.

"Ha! I just saw the SNL skit they did and I could not stop laughing.... LOL," tweeted Khloe Kardashian.

Kourtney took it one step further. While retweeting her sister, she added "I peed! The @KrisJenner was classic."

The retweet to Kris didn't inspire any typing. Mom Kardashian has been quiet, focusing her 140 characters to support son Robert on his "Dancing With the Stars" run.

SNL Kim KardashianWe spent our weekend running errands and trying to decompress from the week that was all Kardashian Divorce, all the time. But it was hard to avoid as we walked by the newsstands in every supermarket to see the headlines screaming at us about the split that rocked the ... well ... rocked Kim's world.

Those writers at 'Saturday Night Live' knew just what ailed us and came up with the perfect medicine: a sneak peek at the new E! special 'Kim's Fairytale Divorce.'

If you haven't had the pleasure yet, ease into the Monday with a spot-on take on the wedding special that took away four hours from our lives that we are never getting back.

A special shout out to Kristin Wiig who nails Kris Jenner to perfection. And if the writers' take on Kris Humphries is indicative of the teasing in store, he may want to go into hiding.

If you've seen the trailer for "A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas," you know that there is a lot going on there: Sex, drugs, rock and roll, babies high on cocaine and, most importantly, Neil Patrick Harris.

The always-charming NPH is billed in the trailer and in the film as "America's Sweetheart," so when MTV News sat down with Harris' co-stars and the man himself recently, we had to ask them why that title is a perfect fit.

"Uh, Why isn’t he? My goodness he can do everything," Kal Penn said. "He hosts 'Regis and Kelly' when Regis is out. He hosts the Tonys, and he does crack in 'A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas.'

The members of Girls Generation have it all. They can sing, they can dance and they can top the charts with just about any song they release … oh, and they’re models too! Six out of the nine girls have modeled for Christian Dior, they have a ton of endorsement deals and in 2009 they were the most sought after models in South Korea.

So there is pretty much no doubt that these girls have impeccable style. Their outfits are always coordinated, well-polished and highly stylized, which makes each girl stand out in her own way. When Girls Generation stopped by our MTV Newsroom, we just had to ask how they put together their wardrobe.

“This is actually our stage outfit for 'The Boys,'" Tiffany told us of the outfits they were wearing. “We usually have uniform outfits. For the past four years, we’ve always worn the same outfits, we sort of look like cheerleaders.”

We’ve blogged a couple of times about the much-loved, nine-member Korean girl group Girls Generation these past few days. The all-singing, all-dancing group is now on a promotional tour of the US, having already achieved mega success in Korea, Japan and the rest of Asia.

“Be careful world we’re on the way!" band member Tiffany told our very own Christina Garibaldi when the girls popped by the MTV Newsroom. Yes, it seems like now that they've conquered Asia, the girls have set their sights on winning over America, having recently signed with Interscope Records (maybe they can rope in label mate Lady Gaga for a collaboration).

Judging by the music video of the group’s catchy Teddy Riley-crafted English single, “The Boys,” the girls certainly have the hooks and the moves to make it big stateside. But the task the girls face is an uphill one. The American market is a tough one to crack for foreign artists. Many highly successful Asian acts have tried their best to make it here, but despite their best efforts, there still isn’t a nationally recognized mainstream Asian pop star. If Girls Generation is to succeed, they’d do well to study the attempts by these five Asian artists to break the lucrative American market in the past few years.

Read on for more and vote in our poll for who you think will be the first Asian artist to break in a big way in America! Read More...

It seems like Kelly Clarkson has caught the acting bug … again! You may remember a few years back that Kelly starred with “American Idol” runner-up Justin Guarini in the not-so well-received flick “From Justin to Kelly.” Now Kelly wants to get back into acting and wants to do it by making a cameo on her favorite television show, “Parks and Recreation.” A few weeks back, Kelly reached out to her fans via her website to help her get on the hit sitcom.

Here’s what she wrote:

“Here's the deal ... I really want to be on 'Parks and Recreation.' It's hilarious! I am a bad actress but maybe I could play a bad actress! I would nail that! I need to be in a scene with Ron Swanson. I love all of them but the trucker stache gets me every time. So, I'm gonna need all of my fans help please. Please tweet every member of the cast, the producers, the writers, security in that building, and anyone related to that show and tell them they need to have me on as a guest. Pretty pretty please!”

Kelly stopped by the MTV Newsroom recently and we just had to ask how the campaign has been going.
