"50 Shades of Grey" is a bona fide phenomenon. Not only is the erotic novel a bestseller, it is being adapted into a film that has some of Hollywood's hottest leading men falling all over themselves to get cast as Christian Grey, the kinky male lead.

Now, "Saturday Night Live" is taking aim at the S&M book's popularity in a hilarious spoof. What do you get the woman who has it all on Mother's Day? Well, you might want to start with a little alone time.

Sidebar: Consider yourself lucky if you are reading this outside of a major city with a popular mass-transit system. We will never look at the middle-aged lady sitting across from us on the NYC subway reading "50 Shades of Grey" the same way again. (And we're not going to lie, we were already a little uncomfortable to begin with.)

It's time for a confession – we're just not that into "Twilight." It's not that we're haters or anything; it's just that it's not our scene. We like our vampires dark and scary not teenaged and angsty. That said, we're totally into Kristen Stewart and wish the series well.

So we're a bit distressed to hear that our girl Kristen gets chewed up – literally! – in "Breaking Dawn – Part 1." When we heard that Robert Pattinson's Edward is forced to quite literally chew a fetus out of Bella when a scalpel can't penetrate the placenta, we freaked out a little bit. That sounds insane!

In honor of this horrendous sequence, our pals at MTV Movies rounded up the 10 most gruesome birth scenes in film. Get a taste after the jump and visit MTV Movies Blog for the full list! Read More...

Paul M and Nikki Reed

Some celebrity couples want to do everything together. Even if it's not the thing they're best known for.

But with the glow of their recent wedding still shining bright, "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed and former "American Idol" contestant Paul McDonald have committed their love to plastic courtesy of their first joint single, "Now That I Found You."

The twangy ballad, with music by McDonald and lyrics by Reed, is, predictably, about finding true love in the eyes of your beloved. The pair's vocals don't exactly find the perfect mix, as McDonald's raspy, Rod Stewart drawl overpowers Reed's generic voice, employed mostly as musical wallpaper. Reed said McDonald is encouraging her to pursue music in a more serious way, so the song may be just the first of many future collaborations.

Who knows if these two will become the next Sonny and Cher or the modern Don Johnson and Barbra Streisand. But whatever the future holds, they can feel confident that plenty of other musical couples have their back. Read More...

Bruno Mars

Yesterday, the track listing for the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1" was revealed and now everyone is buzzing about Bruno Mars' hot new song for the franchise, "It Will Rain."

"Rain" is the perfect soundtrack song – a big, sweeping ballad co-written and co-produced by Mars' team, the Smeezingtons – and seems an ideal fit for "Breaking Dawn." And it got us thinking about our favorite soundtrack tunes. When a one-off tune from one of our favorite artists is tied to a movie you, it's the icing on a very tasty cake.

After the jump, a rundown of some of our favorite soundtrack tunes. We tried to stay away from musicals – with the exception of "Moulin Rouge" – because that's whole different can of worms, and we aimed for songs that we felt really belonged in the movies in which they appear.

The MTV Movie Awards could add a category for Best Soundtrack, but for a show that hands out golden popcorn trophies for Best Scared-As-S**t Performance and Biggest Badass Star, well, that would be so conventional.

That's not to say that a number of the movies being honored on this Sunday night's show didn't have seriously kick-ass soundtracks. Here's a breakdown of some of our favorites among the nominees.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (Best Movie): The folks behind the "Twilight" franchise have had few missteps in translating the vampire drama to the big screen. One of their biggest successes is in curating killer companion albums and the "Eclipse" lineup is no exception. With strong tracks from Muse, the Bravery, Black Keys, Band of Horses and Cee Lo Green, "Eclipse" is another eclectic, surefire winner.

Catherine Hardwicke and Tim KashHi, Twilighters! Today, I had the great pleasure of spending the day at the home of "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke. She has a beautiful place a stone's throw away from the world-famous Venice Beach, and we paid her a visit to talk about her film's seven nominations at the MTV Movie Awards and relive the first time Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson met.

It was a great day of filming, and believe me: "Twilight" fans are not going to want to miss any of this!

We talked about the first "chemistry screen test" between Kristen and Rob. Kristen had to act out a scene with five different potential Edwards, one after another, with Catherine deciding that Robert was "the one" the first time the two kissed — which, as all Twilighters know, happened in Catherine's bedroom. Audrina PatridgeIf Stephanie Pratt was hoping that her new sister-in-law, Heidi Montag, would make time to hang out with all her favorite lady besties now that she's married, she must have been seriously disappointed at the Nylon Magazine Young Hollywood Issue Party in Los Angeles last night. But to make up for Speidi's absence, everyone from Rumer Willis to Nicky Hilton to Kelly Osbourne was there.

(Flip through pics from the Nylon party here.)

Also on hand were Stephanie's BFFs and "Hills" co-stars Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge (wearing the same shoes that Kelly Clarkson rocks in her "I Do Not Hook Up" music video) all decked out in their best party gear. The ladies were all smiles as they partied with hotties like "Twilight" vamp Kellan Lutz and his "90210" co-star Ryan Eggold.

Although Lo and Rumer rocked all black, ladies like Nicky Hilton, Stephanie and Audrina all threw in a splash of color with their looks. But we're a little confused by Kelly Osbourne, who showed up to the party with a blond pixie cut that matched boyfriend Luke Worrall's. Note to Kelly: Couples should only match their feelings for one another, not their hairstyles.

We're pretty certain that "New Moon" is gonna be a big deal ... so we can't blame "American Idol" runner-up/TV Guide Network talking head Justin Guarini for trying to get involved with the film. It's just that, well, there's got to be a better way of going about it.

For those who don't keep abreast of Guarini's every move (which is probably 99.9 percent of you), the curly-haired crooner just posted a song called "I Can't Live" on his official site, which he "wrote specifically for 'New Moon.'" He even made a video for the track -- basically just a series of still photographs of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart -- and told fans "If you like it, make sure to spread the word and ask Stephenie Meyer to put it on the soundtrack."

He also posted the video on his official YouTube channel -- tagging it with every conceivable "Twilight" theme imaginable, not to mention "Swine Flu" for added search-engine oomph -- and let fans have their say on the track.

And, well, that's where things get a little ugly Read More...

Yes, "Hills" stars Heidi and Spencer tied the knot. Now it's time for the inevitable wedding fashion critiques. MTV News found out what fashion experts really thought of Heidi's dress, her bling and Spencer's tux.

What do Rick Ross and Jay-Z have in common? In addition to the obvious rap-superstar similarities, the two were considered for the same track. Get the inside scoop on why producer DJ Toomp originally wanted to give "Valley of Death" to Jay and how it eventually landed on Ross' Deeper Than Rap.

Matthew McConaughey may seem like the perfect all-American heartthrob to take on the role of Captain America, but the actor didn't seem to be interested in the part — until now. Head over to Splash Page for more.

Can't get enough of "Twilight" stars Kellan Lutz and Edi Gathegi? Check out our pictures of the two actors celebrating the film's DVD release in Australia.
