It's easy to forget, when you’re here in the middle of slot machines, roller-coaster rides, pirates and circus freaks, that some people actually live in Vegas. In fact, the boys of Panic! at the Disco not only live here, but Ryan and Spencer met in middle school in Las Vegas and have been making sweet music ever since. Also makes sense why they have such a penchant for make up and costumes ... duh!

Ok, none of this may news to Panic! fans, but I’m always genuinely excited to meet musicians in their hometowns, away from studio lights or concert venues. You get a real sense of who they are and it’s harder to hide behind the fame. I had only seen the inside of casinos and my hotel room since we landed, so it was kinda nice to actually get on a freeway in Vegas, head out to meet the guys at a local hangout and get the hometown tour.

"It's 10 o'clock and I feel the VMA week has officially begun." Those were the words of VP of MTV News Ocean MacAdams - a 10-year VMA veteran. And what a way to start the day.

It's official, people - Britney Spears is making a comeback!

After what was quite possibly the worst-kept secret in VMA history, we finally confirmed Thursday that Britney Spears is going to open the VMAs with her first-ever live performance of her new single "Gimme More." In all honesty, it's not a bad track. Sure, it may not be her best song to date, but it's definately a step in the right direction. My question is this: Is Britney ready for a comeback?

At the moment, Britney is in a child-custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, and there will reportedly be three more court hearings in the dispute this year. One by one, K-Fed has been serving subpoenas to Britney associates including her assistant, former manager and others close to her.

So you would think that with this upcoming drama, the last thing on her mind would be a comeback. But it seems it takes more than a high-profile custody trial to keep Britney down.

Britney has enlisted the help of Criss Angel to put together what is promising to be a spectacular opening performance. She arrives in Vegas tomorrow for rehearsals, and I hope to get the inside track.

For now, take a look at this! Earlier this evening, I went down to the Little White Wedding Chapel, the very place that Britney got married for the first time. I met two newlyweds fresh out of the chapel - let's just hope their marriage lasts a little longer!

Talk tomorrow ...

The lights, the sights, the sounds, the casinos, the people, the clubs, the atmosphere, the style — there are just so many things that make Las Vegas one of the all-time greatest cities in the world.

But as any fight fan will tell you, nothing sets off Vegas like fight night (and the VMAs of course). After all, Las Vegas is the fight capital of the world.

So when my esteemed producer Robert 'Boom-Boom' Mancini, a fellow Mixed Martial Arts fan, told me that the World Extreme Cagefighting Championships (WEC) were taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel, I knew we had to get involved. Read More...

So today I visited the "Original King of Bling" -- Liberace -- to get some inspiration for what I should wear on our big night.

If you've never been here while partying out in Vegas, it’s well worth the 5 min drive off of the strip just to get a whiff of this
place….literally.

I think Liberace said it best:

"Why don’t I slip out and get into something more spectacular?"

So this is the Vegas standard….I think I’m gonna be underdressed.

Here are the finalists. The show is just a few days away….so,
hurry up, leave a comment and decide for me!

This makes me feel sexy! Too sexy??
This makes me feel very Vegas…but sequins in Vegas…kinda predictable?
This dress comes with curves attached. There are things in here that I didn’t know I had.

Alright all you fashionistas…dress me up!

Ever since I joined MTV there's been one awards show that I've been looking forward to more than any other: The MTV Video Music Awards.

I’ve done the MTV Europe Music Awards a few times, even the MTV Asia Awards, but never the VMAs. And it couldn’t be a better year to do it -- after all, our host city is Las Vegas!

This year the VMAs are taking place in what is affectionately known as Sin City for the very first time ever — which makes you wonder — why haven't we done this before?

I’m not complaining. After all, I arrived in Las Vegas this morning (where it's 1,000 degrees, by the way) and headed straight to the Palms Casino Resort, where this year’s spectacular show will take place on Sunday night.

Immediately, the 80-foot-high VMA sign outside the Palms sets the tone. This year's show is going to be BIG!

The pressure is on. Come Sunday, yours truly will be hosting the VMA preshow live from the red carpet, along with the rest of the MTV News rat pack: Sway, SuChin and John. I'd better step my game up.

With just days to go, rumours are flying. Will Britney perform? Will Justin hit the stage with Madonna? Who's going to have the wildest after party? Will I get married at the Little White Chapel?

It's Vegas. Anything can happen!

Lily Allen and Tim

They say what goes on in Vegas should stay in Vegas, so I will keep this brief.

The TRL: 2007 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations Special (breathe) was a monster show with Lily Allen, Kanye West, Common, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke, Timbaland and Rihanna. Kanye tore the house down with his performance on TRL that day from the headquarters in NY as we linked live via satellite to our new temporary base at the Palms, LV for the 2007 MTV VMAs. (I'm working on the "temporary" part!)
