Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Apparently, "getting photographed in the front seat of a car" is the new "getting photographed shopping in Target" for stars in Los Angeles. A few weeks ago, Adam Lambert was spotted stealing a kiss from then-boyfriend Drake LaBry, and a few weeks later Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner inspired plenty of "are they or aren't they?" rumors when they were seen in a car during a shopping trip. Yesterday, singer and "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale spent some time with music video director Scott Speer in Beverly Hills, and yes, they were spending time together in their ride.

Tisdale had a pretty busy summer, as she released her second album Guilty Pleasure (which lived up to its name) and also starred in the hit animated film "Aliens in the Attic." She wasn't the only star hanging out yesterday, as Madonna was seen trying to lay low in Manhattan's Upper East Side and the cast of "Glee" mingled with rabid fans at a Best Buy in New Jersey. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted!" archive, which features nearly 400 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey!

That's why the scientists here at MTV News laboratories came up with Tweet Beat. Hosted by MTV News' resident pop-culture expert, Jim Cantiello, Tweet Beat fills you in on all the best celebrity tweets of the week. We've got you covered with everything from "American Idol" stars past and present (Archuleta to Allen) to MTV royalty (King Spencer and Queen Heidi). After all, somebody's gotta do it, right? Wait, don't answer that.

So what's happening in Twitter this week? It appears that the VMA shockwaves have finally subsided and Kanye West has retreated back into the darkness, leaving the residents of the Twitterverse to once again tweet freely and openly. In this episode, we check in on Jessica Simpson and her ongoing battle with sleeping arrangements, the pithy smarm of Diablo Cody and the eternal high schooler Ashley Tisdale.

Remember kids, Tweet Beat comes from a place of love, and we always love to hear what celebrities you love to follow, so sound off in the comments below or follow our beloved host on Twitter!

Last night at the CMT Awards, Taylor Swift proved her versatility, rapping with T-Pain, doing comedy bits and fronting Def Leppard. Of course, Swift has longed to be down with hip-hop and has also been known to cover Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in concert, so it was not terribly shocking that she ended up having pretty decent skills on the diamond-encrusted microphone. Considering Swift's success, it's only a matter of time before other pop stars dip their toes into the rap world, and we think these will be the best bets.

» Katy Perry: Though her album doesn't brush up much against hip-hop, Perry has been spotted on a boat with Rihanna (which means an introduction to Jay-Z can't be far off). The "Waking Up in Vegas" singer doesn't take herself too seriously, so we think she'd take the same tongue-in-cheek approach that Swift has. MC Team-Up: Lil Wayne. Weezy seems like the kind of guy who can tap into Perry's brand of Technicolor nuttiness and match her note for note.

Scott MacIntyreBy Nicole Tahan

Time’s up for "American Idol" contestant Scott MacIntyre, after the judges decided the 23-year-old wasn’t worth their one-time "save."

Did you catch "Idol" last night? The show has some fans wondering, who is Frankie Avalon? We've got info on the '50s crooner and why he performed before elimination. Also, Kellie Pickler told us all about how she and Taylor Swift wrote the song "Best Days of Your Life," which Pickler performed on "Idol."

Read up about why "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus thinks people label her as "dumb" and what she's doing to aim for a smarter image.

Didn't get enough of Ashley Tisdale in "High School Musical"? Head over to the MTV Movies Blog, where you can see an exclusive trailer for her new movie, "They Came From Upstairs."

Ashley Tisdale

By MTV News interns

Think being an MTV News intern is the coolest job around? Well — you can hate us for saying this — but we think you're right. We constantly get asked what it's like to hang out at the mecca of music and pop culture. We've decided to show you what it's really like to be an intern in the MTV Newsroom. It may be cool, but it's probably not what you expect.

So, we came up with the idea (thanks to some encouragement from Sway!) to deliver a weekly video blog documenting our time here at 1515 Broadway in Times Square.

Besides working alongside Sway, Kim Stolz and Tim Kash, we are exposed to just about anything and everything. This week alone, we had the chance to catch up with Asher Roth, Keri Hilson and Ashley Tisdale! But it's not all glitz and glam. In the coming weeks, you'll see everything from mundane tasks to how we help make some newsroom magic.

There's a rocking new picture in which a bunch of young stars like Camilla Belle, Ashley Tisdale and Drake Bell — as well as Jennifer Lopez — re-enact scenes from "West Side Story." The pictures are pretty eye-catching, and it's safe to say that J.Lo looks just as hot as those girls half her age.

But the pictures raised some questions. First, where in the world is RPattz in that star-studded dance scene? (We are going to assume he's the guy dancing in the back with that killer blond streak in his hair. But why stick such a swoon-worthy guy in the back?) The other question that springs to mind: Why is Camilla always posing like pop-culture icons? (Need proof? Check out the photo of her as Mary Tyler Moore in Glamour.)

Confession time: I love "High School Musical." You do too. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. And for die-hard "HSM" fans, recent news that the franchise will officially return to television is bittersweet.

Yes, East High will live on, but could it possibly be the same without singing sweethearts Troy and Gabriella? Remember "Grease 2" (sans John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John)? Or "Saved by the Bell: The New Class"?

Yeah, it won't be the same. But fear not, Wildcat fans, Ashley, Corbin, Vanessa and Zac all have new projects on the horizon. It's a pivotal time for the principal castmembers — will they forge on to futures full of successful albums and blockbuster movies, or will they forever be known as those Disney musical kids?

Well, we've got the rundown on when and where you'll see them next. Read more...

Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens

MTV News recently had two chances to interview the hot young actors from "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." And although they had some interesting and insightful things to say both times around, we have to admit that some of the cast said things that sounded awfully familiar.

For instance, when asked in one interview about her future plans, Ashley Tisdale said this about "They Came From Upstairs," her upcoming film: "It's an action comedy, and I get to have my first action scene. It was a lot of fun, and I want to do more action scenes. It was very exciting." Read more...

Ashley Tisdale

Some rumors you hear and think, "There's no way that's true." One recent rumor that falls under that category is one making the rounds about about "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale, who is currently in Salt Lake City, Utah, filming "High School Musical 3."

According to UsMagazine.com, a spokesperson for Tisdale has dismissed online reports that the singer had been diagnosed HIV-positive, calling the rumors "completely untrue." The rumor picked up speed last week, when a Web site claimed Tisdale had contracted the disease during rhinoplasty procedure last year.

The erroneous report alleged that a spokesman for the hospital said in a statement, "Ashley and her family are trying to come to terms with this horrible development. They only ask that you pray for Ashley's health and to please respect their privacy as the family decides on the next course of action." The hospital has since told Us that the statement did not originate from them.
