Sunday night's (February 6) broadcast of Super Bowl XLV had just about everything you could ask for, including a tight game (the Green Bay Packers jumped out to an early lead, then slipped as the Pittsburgh Steelers battled back before the Pack finally shut it down and won 31-25), a handful of memorable commercials (including an extra-long Chrysler spot starring Eminem and the long-awaited on-screen collaboration between Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne) and plenty of top-shelf musical moments, lead by the sparkly, over-the-top halftime show put on by the Black Eyed Peas.

But even though the Peas trotted out some of their biggest hits (including the current smash "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and modern classics like "Let's Get It Started" and "Where Is the Love?"), the 12-minute set was stolen by none other than guitarist Slash. The former Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver axe man was lifted onto the stage from below (wearing an extra-shiny version of his trademark hat) and broke right into the riff from Guns' classic track "Sweet Child o' Mine." Fergie joined him on his platform, and the pair ripped through the song with an extra-loud stamp.

This isn't the first time that Slash and Fergie have collaborated, as the Black Eyed Peas' singer was one of the voices the guitarist tapped for his 2010 self-titled solo album (which also featured vocal contributions from the likes of Chris Cornell, Kid Rock, Dave Grohl and Iggy Pop). In fact, the song "Beautiful Dangerous" is one of the strongest efforts from Slash, featuring the be-hatted one's signature heavy blues licks and a sexy, dangerous vocal turn from Fergie.

What did you think of Slash's appearance during the halftime show of Super Bowl XLV? Let us know in the comments!

We don't normally celebrate wedding anniversaries around these parts, but today represents a very special day for one of pop culture's coolest power couples. On this day in 2009, Fergie and Josh Duhamel exchanged vows at a ceremony at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California, binding them as husband and wife.

Fergie (born Stacy Ann Ferguson) first met her husband in the fall of 2004 when the Black Eyed Peas appeared on an episode of the underrated NBC series "Las Vegas," which counted Duhamel as one of its primary stars. The two struck up a relationship that lead to their wedding. The event itself was a lovely affair, with Fergie in a Dolce & Gabbana dress surrounded by celebrity guests like Kid Rock, Kate Hudson, Mario Lopez, Jerry O'Connell, James Caan (Duhamel's co-star on "Las Vegas") and the other members of the Black Eyed Peas.

Since then, they remain happily married and have been able to balance their private life with their respective careers. Fergie spent the rest of 2009 supporting The E.N.D., the Black Eyed Peas' massive chart-blasting album, which was supported by a huge tour. Meanwhile, Duhamel has headlined movies like "When In Rome," "Life as We Know It" and the "Transformers" franchise.

One of the stars who attended Fergie's wedding was Slash, who has long counted the singer as one of the finest voices in rock. In fact, he was so enamored of her talents that he tapped her to perform vocals on "Beautiful Dangerous," one of the splashier tunes from Slash's 2010 solo album.

What should Fergie and Josh Duhamel do for their second anniversary? Let us know your ideas in the comments!

When the summer comes around, there is usually one movie every week that acts as the alpha dog, the one huge title that dominates the weekend. But sometimes, there are competing titles that vie for the attention of the masses. Such was the case with last weekend's tete-a-tete between "Sex and the City 2" and "Prince of Persia." This weekend sees a showdown between another two big titles: The road trip buddy comedy "Get Him to the Greek" and the giant-dog-who-can-talk flick "Marmaduke."

"Marmaduke" — which legendary film critic Roger Ebert doesn't think is as good as "Garfield" — stars Owen Wilson as the voice of the giant dog who has tormented his owners for over five decades in the daily comic strip of the same name. This film adds a "half-brother" for the titular dog in a cat voiced by George Lopez, a canine love interest given life by Fergie and a villain who sounds alarmingly like Kiefer Sutherland.

In order to prepare for your screening of "Marmaduke" this weekend, check out the video playlist below. It contains a multitude of killer tracks that are dog-centric, including Belly's "Slow Dog," Raging Slab's "Don't Dog Me" and (of course) Snoop Dogg's "Tha Doggfather." There are also homages to cats (Faster Pussycat's "Nonstop to Nowhere," Catatonia's "Road Rage" and Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons," which also happens to feature Snoop Dogg) and, uh, bigness (Clipse's "Kinda Like a Big Deal," Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry").

But we begin with Fall Out Boy. While "Alpha Dog" isn't about Marmaduke (or even really about a dog), there's no other descriptor that is more appropriate for this particular Hollywood canine.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

The summer is just getting started, which means that we are in need of a quality set of summer jams to crank up while we barbecue, drive to the beach and stand in line to see "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." No songs have risen to the top just yet, but we can still recycle last summer's tunes, which were dominated by Black Eyed Peas. Between "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling," the summer of 2009 was all about Will.i.am, Taboo, Apl.de.ap and Fergie. Nearly a year later, they continue to cover the world to wish their fans "Mazel tov" and to rake in the spoils of their success. On Thursday (May 13), Fergie spread some of that "I Gotta Feeling" money around when she hit the streets of Milan, Italy with husband Josh Duhamel to get a little shopping done. You'll be able to hear some fresh Fergie content when her voice appears in this summer's "Marmaduke" movie.

She wasn't the only star getting out among the people, as Liam Gallagher hung out at the Cannes Film Festival in celebration of his work on the film adaptation of "The Longest Cocktail Party," a book about the Beatles. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted!" archive, which features over 350 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ludacris, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Madonna and Jessica Simpson!

Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

One thing that can be said about Miley Cyrus: She knows how to accessorize. On a shopping trip on Sunday (January 24), Cyrus hit the town with a dog in tow. She also has classy and expensive taste, as she made a stop at Maxfield in Hollywood, which is a high-quality clothing and interior design boutique. Musically, Cyrus has been sort of quiet lately, though that's about to change: She's got the remake of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Bret Michaels, a spot on Simon Cowell's Haiti benefit cover of "Everybody Hurts" (along with Mariah Carey and a host of others) and whatever music we'll hear from the upcoming Cyrus-starring film "The Last Song."

Cyrus wasn't the only star out on the town over the weekend. "Glee" star Cory Monteith was spotted outside the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, while a number of stars made their way to the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France (including Rihanna, Fergie and Pharrell Williams). Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted!" archive, which features over 300 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, Shakira, Madonna, Adam Lambert, the Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Katy Perry and Ke$ha!

This weekend's edition of "Saturday Night Live" didn't live up to the highs of the previous week (when Taylor Swift reigned supreme over just about every aspect of the show), but it still provided a handful of laughs. Host January Jones (of the critically-acclaimed television drama "Mad Men") looked a little lost at times but still turned in some memorable moments. But most of the notable highlights came courtesy of musical guests the Black Eyed Peas. The group turned in a trio of excellent performances and managed to get the normally staid "SNL" audience to make a little noise and bang around a bit.

The quartet also delivered on the comedy front. In one of the episode's first sketches, the Peas appeared as the guests on "Today," hosted by Kathy Lee Gifford (played by Kristen Wiig) and Hoda Kotb (played by newcomer Jenny Slate). During the sketch, Wiig's Gifford starts singing, which profoundly upsets the members of the Peas (their reactions are pretty priceless). Eventually, they attack Gifford. Fergie throws a haymaker, Apl.de.ap drops an elbow and Taboo even beats her with his new signature sneakers (as clever a piece of product placement as we've seen). Really, the Peas could have easily shared hosting and performing duties just like Swift did, as Fergie, Will.i.Am and Taboo all have acting experience (Will starred in this summer's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," Taboo appeared in "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" and Fergie stars in the upcoming movie musical "Nine"). Check out the attack on the faux Kathy Lee Gifford below (jump ahead to the final minute if you can't take Wiig's schtick — nobody would blame you).

"People don't associate the Black Eyed Peas with the gay market, but our new record is a huge dance record, so people are starting to catch on. I want more gay love! They're completely gay-friendly. Are you kidding me? Look at how they dress! Kanye West really did a great thing for hip-hop and made it very mixed and open."

-Black Eyed Peas singer and "Nine" star Fergie, talking to magazine The Advocate about her band's desire to embrace the gay market. The star also admitted that she was comfortable flirting with women in the video for "I Gotta Feeling" because she has experimented in the past. "Yes, it was [my idea to flirt with the girls]," she said. "That was fun because it was so naughty. It was a big tease, but it felt very natural." While the latest Black Eyed Peas album The E.N.D. continues to tear up the charts (after 22 weeks, the album remains in the top 20 and has sold over a million copies), the singer born Stacy Ann Ferguson will also appear in "Nine," a film adaptation of the stage musical that is a spiritual sequel to Federico Fellini's "8 1/2."

This week saw the release of "DJ Hero," the new video game from the makers of "Guitar Hero" that trades in metal riffs for scratches and breakbeats. The game features 93 tracks from some of hip-hop's biggest names, including Eminem and Jay-Z. When Jigga sat down to talk about some of his favorite games and tracks, he noted that whenever he hits the gym, his listening habits aren't necessarily what you'd expect.

"I was a huge fan, and this is gonna mess me up for at least two weeks in the press, I'm gonna get like two weeks of backlash, but the Fergie song 'Big Girls Don't Cry' was really, really dope," he said. "I really liked that song, and I would sing it really loud, no matter where I was at in the gym. I know a couple of other guys were singing it loud, they won't say it, but I'm man enough to say that Fergie's 'Big Girls Don't Cry,' I would sing that in the gym."

Quite frankly, many of the people in the Newsroom have admitted to listening to Jay-Z albums while at the gym, though that would probably be a little strange for Jay himself. So Fergie's 2007 hit (from her solo album The Dutchess) doesn't make any less sense than anything else. While the song doesn't make an appearance in "DJ Hero," it is in a few other games (notably "Dance Dance Revolution X").

So just in case Hova needs to get psyched up for his performance of "Empire State of Mind" at tonight's World Series game at Yankee Stadium, he need look no further than the Newsroom for his favorite in-the-gym tune.

Last night before their bouncy, euphoric performance at the Outside Lands Festival, MTV News caught up with Fergie, Taboo and Apl.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas to talk about their recent chart record and the inspiration behind their summer smash "I Gotta Feeling," but they also took time out to mourn a friend. DJ AM had worked and partied with the Peas on multiple occasions, and the news of his death hit them hard.

""We couldn't believe it. We were just with him [last] Friday in Las Vegas," explained Taboo. "We DJed with him and we took a couple pictures, and to hear it is devastating." The night in question was AM's standing Friday night gig at the Palms Casino, which often featured guest appearances by the DJ's famous friends (of which he had many).

Fergie not only appreciated AM as a friend and collaborator but also as an artist who inspired her. "I remember going to this club called Firehouse back in the day," she said. "It was, like, the summer of '98 and he used to spin there. It's a big dance club and this one night I remember there was basically 10 people in the club, but I really wanted to dance that night. They kept the club open and he kept spinning really good music. He was so cool like that."

Like many of the artists paying tribute to him, Fergie noted AM's kindheartedness. "There wasn't a mean bone in that guy's body," she told MTV News. Though the Peas did not acknowledge AM during their performance a few minutes later, the group members are clearly holding their fallen friend in their hearts.

(Check out photos from this year's Outside Lands Festival, including Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, Jason Mraz and more!)
