"Did I trip a little bit? I don't even remember. Yeah, I meant to do that. You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography. The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it's how you recover when you fall. It was fun, it was really fun. It was nice to be back on stage and doing my thing."

-Singer, dancer and hot Internet trend Jennifer Lopez, speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his daily radio show about the tumble she took during her performance of "Louboutins" on Sunday night's American Music Awards. Lopez was in the middle of an elaborate dance number, which featured her climbing all over a set of male dancers. When she jumped down from the shoulders of a dancer to the stage, Lopez lost her footing and landed on her backside. She took it in stride, chuckling her way through the interview with Seacrest. The AMA performance of "Louboutins" marked the first piece of promotion for Lopez's upcoming album, which does not currently have a title and is expected to be released some time in early 2010.

Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

The American Music Awards are rarely a high-profile event, but that changes this weekend. Sunday night's show features a handful of high-profile performances by Janet Jackson (who will open the show with an eight-minute presentation), Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Shakira, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Eminem (among others). Jennifer Lopez will also be performing (she'll roll out her new single "Louboutins" from her forthcoming new album Love?), and she spent yesterday on stage in Los Angeles rehearsing for the show. Based on the photos, the Lopez performance features a guest appearance by Michael Buffer (the "Let's get ready to rumble!" guy) and will have Lopez climbing all over her backup dancers and making a handful of leaps and jumps. It promises to be one of the big highlights in a show that should have no shortage of epic moments.

The American Music Awards air this Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC. Be sure to stay tuned to MTV News for the latest updates and coverage of the big show. In the meantime, click here for the entire "Spotted!" archive, which features over 350 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Pete Wentz and John Mayer!

He wasn't on the field during the final play of the game (which saw Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown scamper into the endzone for a touchdown), but superstar singer Marc Anthony certainly gave his team a boost last night at Miami's Landshark Stadium. The Dolphins beat the New York Jets 31-27 following a star-studded "orange carpet" that welcomed Anthony (who is part owner of the team) and his wife Jennifer Lopez (or was it Lola?). The event also welcomed Gloria Estefan (another minority owner), former Dolphins coach Don Shula and supermodel Naomi Campbell. Last night's game opened with Anthony's rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," which no doubt inspired the Dolphins (who are hobbled by an injury to their quarterback Chad Pennington) to overcome one of the strongest defenses in football.

Anthony's ownership in the Dolphins is part of an initiative by the team to bring in celebrity investors. In addition to Anthony and Estefan, tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams both own a slice of the team. Jimmy Buffet also got himself a stake in the franchise — in fact, the stadium where the Dolphins play is named after Landshark, Buffet's brand of beer. Though they're not necessarily involved in day-to-day operations, Anthony and the other celebrity owners do get consulted and have the ear of the team's management. Anthony and Lopez aren't the first musicians to get into sports franchise ownership, either, as Jay-Z (New Jersey Nets), Usher (Cleveland Cavaliers), Nelly (Charlotte Bobcats) and Jon Bon Jovi (Philadelphia Soul) have all dabbled in that world.

Jennifer Lopez has a new album coming out early next year called Love?, and like most artists, she has already put out a single to help promote it ("Fresh Out the Oven," featuring Pitbull). But unlike most of the music world, she has also given herself an alternate personality to go along with her new album.

Say hello to "Lola."

Who is Lola? As of right now, she's a silhouetted dancing figure with a Web site and a Twitter account.

Her first — and so far only — tweet was posted last Tuesday and doesn't provide too many answers: "Lola here. What's my deal? Well, wouldn't you like to know…"

The few words of text on the Web site don't help much either: "She was mysterious … she was like someone I'd never met."

No official word yet on how long Lola's sticking around, but if she's here to stay she'll certainly have some competition — and a lot to live up to. After all, J.Lo's just one of many divas to take on an alter ego. Beyoncé introduced the world to Sasha Fierce last year, while Mariah Carey often references her alter ego Mimi. Even rappers aren't immune to switching up their personas: T.I. split an album with his other character T.I.P. back in 2007. Each of those superstar artists have set quite a precedent, but if anybody can rise to the occasion, it's Lopez.

The clock on the wall says it's just about time to punch out here in the Newsroom, but that doesn't mean we don't have time to reflect on everything we learned this week, as there was much education flying around the office.

» We learned that at least one "Twilight" star has heard "Screaming at a Wall."

» We learned that sometimes Cake is just as good as cake.

» We learned that at least one member of the MTV News staff owns a copy of the soundtrack to "A Life Less Ordinary."

» We learned that John Mayer's lyrics often blend together with his tweets.

Most of us are content to simply stare at pictures of Jennifer Lopez while we play fantasy football. But Marc Anthony gets to stare at the real J.Lo, and now he also gets to have a stake in an actual NFL team. Anthony has acquired a minority interest in the Miami Dolphins. His stake is believed to be relatively small, but the move is consistent with majority owner Stephen Ross' trend of recruiting celebrity partners: Anthony joins Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett as famous minority owners (Buffett's deal even includes the naming rights to the team's stadium, which is now called Land Shark Stadium after Buffett's brand of beer). Anthony and Lopez were both presented with Dolphins jerseys at a press conference announcing the deal.

Anthony is a New York native but will be moving to Miami to be closer to the action. It's uncertain just how hands-on he will be, but Ross said there won't be any expectations to "perform." For his part, Anthony is a huge football fan who performed "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl in New Orleans in 2002, and will do the same when the Dolphins play the New York Jets on October 12.

While many athletes aspire to be musicians, a number of superstars of the music world have turned more to ownership than to breaking a sweat. Jay-Z has an ownership interest in the NBA's New Jersey Nets, Usher has a stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers, Nelly has a portion of the Charlotte Bobcats and Jon Bon Jovi owns the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul. Of those, only the Cavs have had any sort of success since getting a cash influx from a musician, but Anthony's Dolphins have a fighting chance this year. Perhaps Anthony's next Super Bowl performance will be for his own team.

There's a rocking new picture in which a bunch of young stars like Camilla Belle, Ashley Tisdale and Drake Bell — as well as Jennifer Lopez — re-enact scenes from "West Side Story." The pictures are pretty eye-catching, and it's safe to say that J.Lo looks just as hot as those girls half her age.

But the pictures raised some questions. First, where in the world is RPattz in that star-studded dance scene? (We are going to assume he's the guy dancing in the back with that killer blond streak in his hair. But why stick such a swoon-worthy guy in the back?) The other question that springs to mind: Why is Camilla always posing like pop-culture icons? (Need proof? Check out the photo of her as Mary Tyler Moore in Glamour.)

Working for MTV News isn't always easy. Sometimes you have to ask tough questions. And you can't be afraid. Even when you're sitting across Jennifer Lopez and she is clearly angry. And you have to somehow ask: "What the hell were you thinking when you wore that dreadful outfit to the VMAs?"

This same time last year, MTV was working on a VMA fashion special. It featured a segment called "Defend Your Outfit," where artists were asked to defend questionable fashion choices they'd rocked at previous VMA shows.

· According to a report, Mark and Jeff Bass, the brothers from Detroit who discovered Eminem, are suing Dr. Dre, Aftermath Records and Interscope Records for failure to pay back-royalties on the superstar rapper's old master recordings. The lawsuit claims that the brothers' production company, F.B.T., which has had a financial investment in Eminem's career through his deals with Aftermath and Interscope, have mistakenly been charged expenses and production costs over the years, and that has resulted in millions of dollars missing in back royalties. Just a hunch, but this is probably something too arcane to ever appear in Eminem's memoirs. [via AllHipHop.com]

· New mother, Jennifer Lopez, has apparently sold her baby pictures to People magazine for $6 million, according to a report by TMZ. We're not sure when selling baby pictures become ethically acceptable, but TMZ also reports that the pop star/actress threw in two other caveats to the deal: first, that they stop calling her "J. Lo," and second, that her husband, Marc Anthony, be the photographer (we're assuming he gets paid for this, too?).

· There isn't a big American festival that Radiohead doesn't like. They will be headlining Lollapalooza this year in Chicago, along with Nine Inch Nails. The annual gathering takes place August 1-3 at Chicago's Grant Park. Full lineup is expected by the promoters in the next few weeks. [via Daily Swarm]
