Sure, he won't be playing in Super Bowl XLVI at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, this Sunday, but some people just can't let go of Tim Tebow mania. From his faith to his Jokey underwear campaign, the Denver Broncos' quarterback is a lightening rod, but Grammy winner John Legend has had enough.

A big sports fan, Legend visited ESPN yesterday to appear on ESPN2’s "First Take" after contacting commentator Skip Bayless via Twitter to request a throw-down – which has become an odd sort of hip-hop/R&B tradition, with LL Cool J, Lil Wayne, Common and Queen Latifah all stopping by "First Take" to take him on.

Legend spent the full episode debating the day’s sports topics with Bayless and Stephen A. Smith but it should come as no surprise that Bayless' passionate support for Tebow was one of the hottest topics.

The soulful singer later put his feelings on the matter into song, spoofing his own smash “Ordinary People” by turning it into “Extra-ordinary Tebow.”

“Now it’s the Super Bowl, and while you are sitting home, Skip and Stephen debate you every day," Legend sang, "Extra-ordinary Tebow, your power we can’t know.” Legend went on to conclude that while it's understandable to discuss Tebow, “Skip won’t you let it go.”

Although we don't technically need a reason to celebrate our favorite men in music, we were inspired by the happy news that Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill married Lily Aldridge last week and the even happier news that there is still one King on the market: Jared Followill.

In honor of Jared's commitment to bachelorhood (however long it may last), we present our favorite bachelors in music. Also, before the comments section lights up with "He has a girlfriend!" "He's dating so-and-so!" statements, please note that the term "bachelor" refers to an unmarried man, girlfriend or no). Here they are, in no particular order:

Adam Levine: pop-star playboy
Those who've been following Levine and his band Maroon 5 know that the frontman has a certain spunk and smolder about him (Exhibit A: the "Makes Me Wonder" video), but thanks to his judging stint on "The Voice," we've been seeing a fun new side to him.

Jared Followill: Southern gentleman with a bad-boy edge
Not that Mr. Followill is a bad boy, by any means, but there's something about Jared ... not only his talent and good looks, but a playful mischievousness. Although if his tweets are to be believed, he might not be on the market for long.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

John Legend may be from Ohio and is currently collaborating with Philadelphia hip-hoppers the Roots, but he could easily claim a status as an honorary New Yorker. The singer took to the stage at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial Park for "A Great Day in Harlem: Concert Under the Stars," a celebration of the music, culture and people of one of New York City's most storied neighborhoods. The free concert was dubbed "The Sounds of Philadelphia" and also featured Keith Sweat, Harold Melvin's Blue Notes and Elizabeth Withers. It's part of the annual celebration of Harlem, which features a multitude of music spanning the worlds of R&B, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, rock and everything in between.

Legend wasn't the only star breaking a sweat, as Will Smith accompanied son Jaden to the Paris premiere of "The Karate Kid" and Dave Matthews, the Black Crowes and Zac Brown all jammed at the Hullabalou Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features over 400 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, the Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Jessica Simpson, Madonna, Shakira, Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Diddy and Lady Gaga!

There are less than two days until the 2010 FIFA World Cup kicks off, which means that the international community will be treated to a month of thrilling soccer action. The 32 teams who will battle on the pitch over the next few weeks represent the most balanced field the tournament has seen in decades. Though there are a handful of perpetual favorites like Spain, Brazil and England, but there are also plenty of dark horses who could separate themselves from the pack (like the Netherlands, Chile, Portugal and the United States) and threaten to take home the trophy. But before the matches begin, the music has to kick things off. On Thursday night (June 10), the World Cup opening ceremony will begin the tournament with a host of international stars like Alicia Keys, John Legend and the Black Eyed Peas. The latter two gathered in Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa to prepare for the big event.

The Black Eyed Peas and Legend weren't the only international stars making waves, as La Roux performed live on "Good Morning America" and 30 Seconds to Mars took the stage in New Zealand. Even though most of the viewing audience is concentrating on the season finales of their favorite shows (including "Lost," "The Celebrity Apprentice," "The Office" and "30 Rock"), the TV world is already thinking about next season. Hence the tradition of "upfronts," where networks trot out news on all of their biggest hits and new pick-ups. Usually reserved to build network buzz, this year's most-talked about upfront was definitely Wednesday's (May 19) get-together for Turner Entertainment in New York. Both TNT and TBS — the pair of cable stations under the Turner umbrella — rolled out news on their new shows, but the highlight was most certainly the appearance by Conan O'Brien. His new talk show has a premiere date (November 8), and the party gave him the opportunity to rub elbows with the likes of George Lopez, Ray Romano, Kyra Sedgwick and Will Smith (who was there supporting his wife Jada Pinkett and her TNT show "Hawthorne"). Sadly, Smith didn't freestyle over O'Brien's song, which he performed later during the presentation.

They weren't the only stars hanging out on Wednesday, as John Legend performed at Cherry Lane Publishing's 50th Anniversary party in New York and a multitude of people (including Tom Cruise, Flea and Kim Kardashian) watched the Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. John Legend has performed in huge stadiums to massive crowds at the Super Bowl, WrestleMania, political conventions and at Live Earth. He's a guy who by now should be comfortable with fame and attention. But last night during his performance at New York's Madison Square Garden — the first time he has ever headlined the iconic arena — he seemed just slightly overwhelmed by the energy of it all.

"I used to sing this song in clubs," he said before launching into "Stay With You," the final song in his set. "And I couldn't wait for the day I got to sing it in Madison Square Garden."

(Click here for more photos from from John Legend's performance at Madison Square Garden!)

Legend certainly treated the show like a huge event, welcoming friends Kanye West, Rick Ross, Estelle, reggae legend Buju Banton and opening act India.Arie to the stage for some all-star collaborations.

"This is a star-studded event!" Legend announced following his opening number, a spot-on take on Bob Marley's "Redemption Song," which he crooned from the audience. He made his way up to the stage and rolled out hit after hit, climaxing in the appearance of Estelle and West for an extended version of the trio's hit "American Boy."

For one lucky fan, the highlight came when Legend invited her up on stage for a slow dance during (obviously) "Slow Dance." Though she looked like she was about to faint, she maintained her composure and walked away with a kiss on the cheek, a long-stemmed red rose and an unforgettable memory for her trouble.

But fans didn't need to dance with the man to appreciate the evening. By the time he ended the show with "Green Light," he had managed to seduce everybody at MSG.

John Legend is no stranger to the sports world. He sang at the Super Bowl, performed at WrestleMania and put synchronized swimmers in the "Green Light" video. But Friday morning, one of music's biggest stars will have his sports knowledge and passion tested when he co-hosts ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning." He will sit in the seat normally taken up by former NFL All-Pro Mike Golic and will trade trivia and opinions with Mike Greenberg. It's an early show — the party kicks off at 6 a.m. — but it'll be worth hearing Legend's insights on the morning's topics, which will probably include the results of tonight's NBA Finals game, the Major League Baseball draft and the upcoming NFL season. It's unlikely that Legend will attempt to talk while filling his mouth with donuts, but hey, you never know.

ShontelleBy Lindsay Wallace

MTV News caught up with the Barbados-born artist Shontelle just after her return from Japan's Spring Groove. The talent-filled show was a landmark in her very quick rise to stardom, as she performed with John Legend, T-Pain, Akon and TLC. This wasn't her first star-studded collaboration, however, as she has previously performed with both Akon and her fellow Barbados-born pop-star friend, Rihanna.

Her relationship with Rihanna began in Barbados, where they went to different schools but were involved in friendly competition in the cadets. She admits that her friend was especially influential on her in many ways since Rihanna made it in the music industry first. Her fellow former cadet, who she refers to as "Rih," gave her advice on the ins and outs of the music industry. "I definitely got a lot of tips from her," Shontelle said. "I tend to pay attention to successful artists and she's certainly one of the most successful artists in the last few years."

Washington, D.C.

President-elect Barack Obama doesn't take the oath of office until Tuesday, but the nation's capital already feels like the site of the biggest, most expensive political pep rally for America ever.

Strolling along the National Mall on Saturday afternoon near the Lincoln Memorial - the location of Sunday's "We Are One" all-star show featuring Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Usher, Mary J. Blige, U2, John Legend and others - the unmistakable strains of The Boss' "The Rising" rose up into the frigid grey sky.
