As Nick Jonas prepares for his debut in “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying,” he’s opening up to The Advocate about his history on Broadway, as well as his future on The Great White Way.

When asked if he’d ever consider going au natural on stage, like his “How To Succeed” predecessor, Daniel Radcliffe, he didn’t completely rule it out. “I love theater and I understand the difference between acting and who you are as a person. I don’t know that it’s something I would’ve done in the end, but I definitely would’ve considered it,” he said laughing. “You have to be open to everything.”

Nick does seem pretty open to a lot of stuff. He says that growing up in Broadway shows has always meant that he’s comfortable around gay people. While he clarifies that none of the JoBros are gay, he adds that they totally love their gay fans. “It was definitely cool when we realized that, because the more you can grow your audience, the more people you can impact. They’ve been incredible over the years,” he said. “My brothers and I totally look forward to meeting them, because they really respond to our style, and it’s cool to see how our influence has impacted what they’re wearing. They also give really good gifts at our meet-and-greets — hats, scarves, and other things. They always have good taste.” Read More...

Sure Nick Jonas is prepping for a 2012 leading role in the hit Broadway musical "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," but does that mean we really won't see any new music from the Jo Bro any time soon?

The answer, in short, is yes. With a bustling career on the stage and behind-the-scenes working with artists like Charice and Greyson Chance, right now, Nick confirms to MTV News, he's more focused on writing for others than writing for himself.

"You know, I don’t really have any plans right now to release any of those [songs] on my own, but what I think is really interesting about this year is my focus really has been on other people," he told us earlier this summer. "[I'll be] using all that I've learned over the years and hopefully creating some great music for other people."

It's a big day for birthdays, blues legend B.B. King, actress Alexis Bledel, former Elastica member Justine Frischmann and Hollywood icon Mickey Rourke will all be blowing out candles today. But it's an extra special one for Nick Jonas, who turns 18 years old today. It's remarkable how much the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers (though not the youngest Jonas brother — that's Frankie, aka Bonus Jonas) has accomplished before he is legally allowed to vote. His band has had four hit albums, two television series, a pair of ratings-busting TV movies centered around them, starring in a theatrically-released concert film and have sold out countless arenas around the world. Nick has been particularly busy, as earlier this year he embarked on his first project away from his primary group when he released Who I Am, a record cut with his band the Administration.

In addition to his work in music, television and film, Nick has also been particularly involved in a singular positive cause. He has helped develop the Change for the Children Foundation, a group that seeks to raise funds and awareness for diabetes care and research (Nick has had Type I diabetes since he was 13 and uses an insulin pump to help deal with it). His work with the foundation has brought him everywhere, including the U.S. Senate (where he testified about the condition in order to stimulate more research funding).

Nick's solo debut with the Administration was an excellent effort the was simultaneously more raw and funky than much of the Jonas Brothers' output. The title track was a great burner that makes a great statement for his birthday.

What would you give Nick Jonas for his 18th birthday? Let us know in the comments!

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

While the music world was paying attention to the two high-profile music festivals in the U.K. (Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling) over the weekend, there was one musical extravaganza that made plenty of noise on domestic shores. Eric Clapton's annual Crossroads Guitar Festival took place over the weekend in Bridgeview, Illinois. The salute to six-string wizardry brought headliner and organizer Clapton together with a handful of the world's best axe-slingers, including John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Sheryl Crow, B.B. King, Ronnie Wood, Johnny Lang, Robert Randolph, Billy Gibbons and Jeff Beck. The entire festival was hosted by actor and guitar enthusiast Bill Murray, who appeared in the guise of Elvis Presley during one segment. Later, Murray also dressed up as Jimi Hendrix for a bit of comedy and jammed with a handful of the all-stars on hand.

Murray wasn't the only star rocking out over the weekend, as the Jonas Brothers hung out at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London's Hyde Park and Aerosmith tore it up at a show in Barcelona, Spain. In many ways, the Jonas Brothers lead a charmed life. They get to travel the world, meet interesting people and have the privilege of playing their excellent songs in front of hundreds of thousands of fans. But even with the best of luck and support staff, sometimes things go awry. For example, after a show in Hollywood last Saturday (May 15), the trio got stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes. "It went from, 'Okay, this is hilarious, we're stuck in an elevator, okay press the button,' to 'This is crazy, okay, I can't breathe, this is insane,'" Joe Jonas explained to People magazine. The whole ordeal ended with the fire department breaking their way into the elevator with axes, freeing the brothers and the other people in the elevator (which included their security guard, their chef and their official photographer, who captured the entire ordeal on film).

We can certainly think of worse things than being stuck in an elevator with the Jonas Brothers. In fact, if we have to be confined to a small space with a pop group, the Jonas Brothers would almost certainly be the group we would pick. However, there are plenty of famous people we definitely would not want to be stuck in an elevator with, if only because it would be supremely awkward. For instance, we probably wouldn't have a whole lot to say to Jackie Earl Haley (Freddy Krueger scared us as tiny children, and he scares us more now), nor would the conversation with Roman Polanski be very smooth (though we probably would be saved pretty quickly by law enforcement officials looking for him). And could you imagine if you happened to wander into an elevator at NBC headquarters eight months ago with both Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien? Now that's awkward.

But considering the events of the past 24 hours, we think it would be most awkward to be stuck in an elevator with Megan Fox.

(Click here for more photos of people who would make us uncomfortable in elevators!)

While the idea of being confined with a woman as lovely as Fox is nothing to complain about, how would that conversation go? "So, how about those robots?" Eek.

Who would you not want to be stuck in an elevator with? Let us know in the comments!

"A hippo was one gift once. Somebody adopted a hippo in our name. I don't know [where it is]. I would love to visit it and hang out with it!"

-Teen star Joe Jonas, revealing his pick for the strangest gift a fan has ever given his band the Jonas Brothers. Jonas made the revelation while speaking to "Good Morning America" co-host George Stephanopoulos during a live-via-satellite interview with the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, who are all headed out on tour together this summer. (They'll also be starring in the hotly-anticipated Disney Channel movie "Camp Rock 2.")

Lovato and Joe are a couple, and they both expressed excitement at the idea that they were going to be able to spend so much time on the road together. But will they be able to balance work and their personal lives? "We don't know yet! We're both really excited!" Joe admitted. The recently-married Kevin will also have his lady along with him for the ride.

"She will be there," Kevin said of his wife Danielle. "It's great. It's amazing being with your best friend everyday. It's so nice to have that relationship there, and beyond that a partnership."

"Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" is set to premiere in September on the Disney Channel, but the tour will start in July in Dallas, Texas. Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers have a new video for the track "It's On," which will make its first appearance on Friday night (May 14) following an episode of the group's Disney television show "JONAS." "The video is a really cool concept," Kevin told MTV News. "It takes on the aspect of the music and just the intensity, the high energy of what the song is. ... What's cool is just the passion of all the people who are singing."

The Jonas Brothers are hardly strangers to television. They currently star in the vaguely autobiographical Disney series "Jonas," were featured in the TV movie "Camp Rock" (as well as the upcoming "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam") and once made an appearance on "Hannah Montana." They're currently in the midst of making the second season of "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream," a documentary series narrated by the three siblings that follows them in their various adventures on the road. The whole band was on a beach in Los Angeles on Monday (March 1), where Kevin and Nick combed the sand with metal detectors apparently looking for treasure. As you can see, they certainly found something shiny, though it probably wasn't what they were expecting.

They weren't the only stars branching out this week, as "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D spun a session for Tivo at Top of the Rock in New York City, while Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross both made their way to Madison Square Garden to catch Jay-Z's big homecoming show (which also featured an appearance by soon-to-be-inmate Lil Wayne). Monday (February 1) was a watershed day in the history of both pop music and charity work, as dozens of artists got over their Grammy hangovers to get together to record a new version of "We Are The World," the classic charity anthem that was originally written to aid the famine problem in Africa and had been resurrected by Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones in order to provide help for earthquake relief in Haiti. The long list of participants represents some of the biggest names in music, including Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Pink, Wyclef Jean, Akon, Justin Bieber, Will.I.Am, Usher, Jordin Sparks, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Celine Dion. It allowed for a number of meet-ups that made everybody want to be a fly on the wall. (Did Kanye compare notes with the Beach Boys? What did Bieber and Snoop Dogg talk about?) In fact, one of the more intriguing photos snapped during the proceedings was the one that featured Joe Jonas and T-Pain, who were caught outside the studio, perhaps talking about glasses. Now that Nick has busted out with the Administration, Joe should tag-team with Pain for an all Auto-Tune R&B album. This should happen.

When Nick Jonas isn't working to make his baseball dreams come true, he's on the road playing shows with his new band the Administration and preparing for the release of the group's first album Who I Am (which drops on February 2). On Wednesday night (January 13), he played the second of two nights at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. Jonas charmed crowds of over 2,500 people per night with Who I Am's funky, rock-heavy tunes. "It's not so much that kind of thing where they're doing crazy stuff," Jonas told MTV News last week while comparing the crowds at the Administration shows to those who show up to see the Jonas Brothers. "I think it's more about them listening to the music and really getting a feel for what I'm talking about in the songs, which is nice to see."

Jonas isn't the only star making the rounds, as Ke$ha paid a visit to "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," while "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper did his best to bundle up on the streets of Manhattan.
