The 2010 version of Lollapalooza has been great for hip-hop. Some of the biggest sets of the weekend have been delivered by people in the rap world, including B.o.B, Raphael Saadiq and J. Cole. Sunday night performances by Cypress Hill and Erykah Badu are also hotly anticipated. One of the livelier sets of the weekend came courtesy of hip-hop duo Kidz in the Hall, who lit up Perry's stage on Friday afternoon. Their old-school approach to rhyming, and with rapper Naledge being a hometown Chicago boy (he told MTV News' Tim Kash that he could see his family in the crowd while he performed and was inspired), it made for a killer hour of hip-hop.

Like any rap act with respect for the old school, Naledge and Double-O love Adidas. Ever since Run-DMC immortalized the shoes with "My Adidas," the shoes have been synonymous with rap fashion and attitude. When we told Kidz in the Hall that Adidas had a giant shoe box here on the grounds of Lollapalooza that shows off the latest in the Adidas MEGA line, they didn't hesitate to take us on a guided tour through the facility.

Double-O had double duty last night at Sutra Lounge in Manhattan. One half of Kidz in the Hall not only celebrated his birthday, he was one of the house DJs. The birthday boy spun records like MGMT's "Electric Feel," M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" and Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" and "Homecoming." O couldn't contain himself and also played a brand new Kidz record. He played just around a minute of it, but the song was upbeat and uptempo.

"I definitely can't wait until this new album comes out," Double-O said of the Kidz's new project, slated to arrive later this year. Kidz in the Hall, which also includes Naledge, recently put out a video for the ‘09 version of Special Ed's ‘80s classic "I Got It Made." The song was made in conjunction with Reebok Classic — classic like a glass of Hennessy or Patrón. There was plenty of it at the bar. There was also a birthday cake that didn't get eaten until well after 1 a.m.

Model Ivana Fields also celebrated her birthday last night at Sutra, and the multitalented Amanda Diva was among the revelers who attended.

We hung out with Kidz in the Hall today at the famous J & R Music World downtown and talked about their new album. The In Crowd drops today, and the guys used the sales skills they learned playing used car salesmen in their video for "Driving Down the Block" to help move units.

Naledge and Double-O talked about how their academic background played a part in the conception of their album (the two met at UPenn). And, of course, they talked about their new tracks, whose lyrics range from politics to the art of hip-hop and the power of addiction. We'll be bringing you news on their collabos with Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes and Estelle in the days to come.

I've seen these guys go from being an mtvU Freshmen Five artist to doing "My Block: Chicago." Now they're on "TRL"! But these guys never forget their roots, whether they're talking early 90's hip-hop or reminiscing about meeting Barack Obama in their friend's living room back when he was running for State Senate in Illinois...
