When your job involves working at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards and helping usher celebs like Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson and more to the red carpet, you really can't complain. Thanks to my gig this year, not only did I get to see some of my favorite stars from a special behind-the-scenes vantage point, I also got to make some observations that I wouldn't have otherwise made. Usually I'd tweet my thoughts, but in this case, there were just so many special moments that I had to list them in a blog. So check out some of my favorite behind-the-scenes moments with your favorite stars and let me know what you thought of this year's red carpet.

(Check out photos of Kristen Stewart and her "Twilight" costars at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.)

Kristen Stewart: KStew's arrival was one of the most anticipated of the night, and it was well worth the wait. Kristen arrived toward the end of the red carpet, and she was quickly directed to the paparazzi line. While the whole thing was kind of a blur (there were a lot of people surrounding her!), I'm convinced she turned around to give me a gracious smile since I helped usher her forward. I could be totally wrong (there were countless other people she could have been smiling at), but I'm keeping this one for myself. So just let me have it, k?

Taylor Lautner: OK, gals, I'm officially a Taylor fan. I mean, I always thought he was a good-looking guy, but today, when he was on the MTV News platform next to Josh Horowitz, in his razor-sharp silver suit and perfect hair, I realized just how good-looking he was. Also, he's super-fun. Right after getting in line for photos, I saw him approach a photographer he recognized to give him a playful greeting. How could you not love a guy who's so down-to-earth? David Letterman sure threw down the gauntlet last week. The 63-year-old host of "The Late Show with David Letterman" proved that he can still swing with the younger crowd, as he devoted the entire Friday night (June 25) edition of his show to a visit by Jay-Z and Eminem. Jigga sat down for a chat about LeBron James (among other things), Slim Shady read off the night's "Late Night Top 10 List" and they both adjourned to the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater for a three-song performance that included Em's "Not Afraid," Hova's "On to the Next One" and the tag-team affair that is "Renegade." What will Letterman — and more importantly, the rest of the late night community — do for an encore?

If you're Jay Leno, you apparently take the week off. But Big Dave stays on the pulse this week with visits from indie favorites Tokyo Police Club (Monday, June 28) and New Pornographers (Wednesday, June 30). He'll also sit down with "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" stars Kristen Stewart (Monday) and Taylor Lautner (Thursday, July 1). And why not toss a visit from Dolly Parton on Tuesday, June 29?

You would think that after last week's special that Jimmy Kimmel would be sick of talking to the cast of "Eclipse," but he apparently can't get enough. The host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" will welcome Peter Facinelli on Wednesday and Dakota Fanning on Thursday. Just for good measure, he's got musical performances from the likes of The-Dream (Tuesday), 3OH!3 (Wednesday) and a triumphantly returning Korn (Thursday).

For the after-hours types, the normally dominant Jimmy Fallon is on vacation this week, which means that the extra-late musical performances are left to the normally tin-eared "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." But this week is different, as Ferguson will welcome Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings on Tuesday and Dr. Dog on Friday (July 2). That's a pretty strong batch of performances, though anybody looking for Aventura or Cee-Lo will have to check in with George Lopez on Monday and Wednesday, respectively. And the daytime shows remain relatively quiet, as Ellen DeGeneres is still on vacation and the cast of "Eclipse" continues to take up most of the couch time.

Every morning, MTV News delivers the top news stories in music, movies and pop culture hot and fresh for your reading and watching pleasure. We then bring together a trio of the biggest headlines for "Three to See," the daily digest of the top stories making noise on our site and across the Internet. This morning, stories about Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray's defense in court, an update on the woman who assaulted Bam Margera and Kristen Stewart's status regarding "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" lead the way.

Conrad Murray's Lawyer Says He Didn't Deliver Fatal Dose To Michael Jackson
On the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyer said that there was no way his client could have delivered the dose of Propofol that killed the pop icon last June. Attorney Ed Chernoff told CNN that his client could not have delivered the dose of the surgery-grade anesthetic.

Kristen Stewart Says She Probably Won't Be In "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"
On the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," star Kristen Stewart told MTV News that though it was unlikely she would be able to play a role in the upcoming film "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," she holds out hope for it. "I'm booked for, like, the next six months, but it's an incredible project," she said. "I hope someone really cool does it, because I can't wait to see it. But I don't know if it's going to be me."

Woman Who Assaulted Bam Margera Will Face Trial
A judge ruled that the 59-year-old woman who attacked "Jackass" star Bam Margera with a baseball bat a few weeks ago will stand trial. Elizabeth Ray will have to face a jury on counts of aggravated assault and several other related charges.

"I always listen to music, but I had particular music that I listened to on 'New Moon,' but didn't really have to for 'Eclipse.' I just listened to my normal music. Bella's less tortured. She's less conflicted. I mean ... it's the most she's conflicted about the love triangle [but] that happens sort of at the end. [I've] probably [been listening to] a little bit of both [Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus]. But I don't know, 'The Climb' is my theme song — and I'm sticking to it."

-"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" star Kristen Stewart, discussing her personal use of music to help construct her character and the songs that have been in heavy rotation for her recently. As the conflicted, brooding Bella Swan, Stewart said that when making the previous two "Twilight movies (2008's "Twilight" and 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon"), she often used music to help settle into Bella's state of mind.

But for "Eclipse," the narrative shifts from Bella's interior life to the events surrounding her, so there was less need for her to dig deep into the type of emotional life that music can help create. "The main conflict is the danger and the fact that she's losing her human life. That her family's gonna soon maybe go away," Stewart told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "When I was doing 'New Moon,' I needed the music and I needed my iPod all the time and I needed to be in my own little head, but in 'Eclipse' it was more about the story was just different."

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the third entry in the five-film "Twilight" series, hits theaters on June 30.

If the New York Mets win two out of three against the visiting Atlanta Braves this weekend, they can climb out of the basement and into a .500 record this season. That's the sort of optimism that the weekend brings. Are they Mets good enough to beat the Braves twice in three days? Maybe, but probably not. But since there are two straight days of sleeping in, walking in the park and seeing "The Losers," all sorts of potential miracles suddenly seem possible. The weekend is a powerful thing — so powerful that it leads Mets fans to delusion.

But before you spend your weekend watching baseball, checking out the NBA playoffs or just lying in a hammock, check out everything you might have missed this week on the MTV Newsroom Blog, which featured a multitude of hits about Justin Bieber, Insane Clown Posse, "American Idol" and much more.

» This week belonged to Crystal Bowersox, who delivered a killer performance of "People Get Ready" that was so intense that there was talk that it was the best ever on the show.

» However, it was David Archuleta who took home the prize for the best "American Idol" performance of all time with his version of "Imagine" from a few seasons back.

» In other "American Idol" news, recent reject Katie Stevens finally got to put Connecticut on the map.

» The weeks started exactly how it was supposed to: With a "Saturday Night Live" parody of Insane Clown Posse's still-awesome "Miracles" video.

» Green Day's "American Idiot" premiered on Broadway this week, and MTV was there live on the red carpet and in the audience after the show. We also took a look back at their long career, from Berkeley to Broadway.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

The summer music season has officially kicked off, as the annual Coachella festival spent the previous three days engulfing thousands of revelers in huge rock moments, head-nodding hip-hop, funky dance and a healthy dose of desert heat. Even in April, the sun rose the temperature in the Coachella Valley into the mid-80s every day. Still, even the threat of melting in the shade couldn't keep people away from the incredibly diverse lineup. There were all manner of stars on stage, but just as many came to Coachella as fans, including perennial favorite Danny DeVito, Beyoncé (there to support husband and headliner Jay-Z) and "The Runaways" and "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart, who spent some quality time at the Lacoste Pool Party on Sunday, April 18. Rolling incognito in a T-shirt, jeans and a Los Angeles Dodgers cap, Stewart hung by the pool while Pavement, Gorillaz, Atoms for Peace and Phoenix headlined the day.

Stewart wasn't the only star at a party over the weekend, as the Jonas Brothers performed at the T.J. Martell Foundation Family Day benefit in New York, while Pete Wentz posed for photos at the Dow Live Earth Run for Water in Los Angeles. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features over 400 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jessica Simpson!

If you happen to pass by Kristen Stewart today, hand her a cupcake and give her a high five, because she turns 20 years old today. It feels like she should be older only because she has been in high-profile movies since the beginning of this decade (she starred alongside Jodie Foster in the David Fincher film "Panic Room" when she was only 11 years old). Through the power of "Twilight," she has become one of the most notable young actresses in Hollywood. But she has independent film running through her veins, as the movies she does that don't star vampires and werewolves tend to be quirky, off-beat fare (like "Adventureland," "Into the Wild," the recent biopic "The Runaways" and the forthcoming "Welcome to the Rileys").

Her musical tastes also skew towards the underground. She expressed her love of Broken Social Scene at this year's South by Southwest festival, played Joan Jett in "The Runaways" and has been photographed wearing Sex Pistols and Minor Threat T-shirts. In honor of her birthday, we decided to get her what you get every girl who has everything: A mixtape of the indie stuff we've been cranking up lately. Enjoy!

The National, "Bloodbuzz Ohio"
The latest single from one of Brooklyn's most epic bands. Frontman Matt Berringer's voice continues to evolve into a tremendous instrument — it's subtle, spacious, velvety and tender. The hook rules too.

Lusk, "Backworlds"
You always have to have a bit of a flashback on track two. Lusk's trippy blend of psychedelic rock is great and famously overlooked. They were lead by Paul D'Amour, the first Tool bassist, but it's light years away from anything on Undertow.

You would think that with a brand-new movie to promote (a tiny little rock bio called "The Runaways" that you may have heard of by now) and a full-time job dodging pesky paparazzi to focus on, Kristen Stewart wouldn't have much time to do anything else. But you'd be wrong.

Turns out, she's also a budding rock critic.

See, after last night's "Runaways" premiere at South by Southwest, Stewart sneaked out to venerable Austin BBQ shack/music venue Stubb's to check out the indie-riffic Band of Horses/Broken Social Scene double bill. And despite the fact that the gig was perhaps the biggest Thursday night show at SXSW (well, either that or Stone Temple Pilots), Stewart braved the crowds, because, as she put it, "Band of Horses happen to be, like, my favorite band at the moment."

Perhaps wanting to share the love, she also brought her "Runaways" co-star Dakota Fanning along to check out the show. But after Fanning left (perhaps it was past her bedtime?) Stewart stayed around to watch B.S.S. So how was it? Here's Stewart's 32-second review of the gig:

Stewart said she's also hoping to catch Broken Bells — the duo featuring Danger Mouse and Shins' frontman James Mercer — before she hightails it out of Austin, and she also cops to worshiping at the altar of Radiohead and Interpol (just like everyone else at SXSW). What can we say? The girl's got taste.

And if this whole acting gig doesn't pan out, she could always turn her attention to the lucrative world of rock criticism. The pay is lousy, but hey, at least you get free CDs!

Check back throughout the week (and into the weekend) for more of MTV News' adventures at South by Southwest ... the biggest bands, the best interviews, the beefiest beef ribs ... it's all gonna be here.

Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

It's a good day for fans of the Runaways, the genre-twisting, gender-barrier-smashing all-girl band who blew up big in the late 1970s and breathed life into the careers of Joan Jett and Lita Ford. "The Runaways" is the story of the band from the dual perspectives of Jett and singer Cherie Currie (whose book "Neon Angel: A Memoir of a Runaway" served as the basis for the film's narrative) and stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in those roles. It's an especially impressive performance for Stewart, who nails Jett's every mannerism, vocal inflection and guitar strut with amazing accuracy. After walking the red carpet at the film's opening on Wednesday (March 17), Stewart made her way out of New York on Thursday (March 18) via Laguardia Airport. The red jacket is an especially nice touch.

Stewart wasn't the only star in motion on Thursday, as Ashley Tisdale made her way to the Andy Lecompte salon in Beverly Hills and Allison Iraheta was joined by Ashton Kutcher and "Star Trek" star Chris Pine at the "A Night at Sardi's" fundraiser at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted!" archive, which features over 400 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Justin Bieber, Diddy, 50 Cent and Katy Perry!

This Friday (March 19) sees the release of "The Runaways," the biopic about the seminal all-girl punk band that stars Kristen Stewart as guitarist Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as singer Cherie Currie. The film, directed by veteran photographer and music video director Floria Sigismondi, tracks the story of the band's formation, the hostile male rock and roll environment and the volatile relationships between the band members (especially Currie and Jett).

Both actresses fully committed to their characters (Stewart even chopped her hair off, which lead to her needing a wig to shoot "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"), so much so that they recorded a series of Runaways tracks specifically for the soundtrack (which hits stores next Tuesday, March 23). Fanning's contributions are especially impressive, as she manages to nail Currie's surprisingly delicate balance of sugar and snarl. Sigismondi put together a music video for "Cherry Bomb," the Runaways' signature song and the track that became something of a calling card for Currie. The clip is mostly made up of footage from the film, but the most compelling images are from the performance scenes. Stewart and Fanning make for a pretty rocking combination, and in the video's key scene, their punk rock sexiness and estrogen-fueled swagger really shine through.

Fanning recorded three other songs for the soundtrack to "The Runaways," including "California Paradise" and "Queens of Noise." The album will also feature contemporary tunes from David Bowie, the MC5, the Stooges and the Sex Pistols.

What do you think of the "Cherry Bomb" video? Will you be seeing "The Runaways" when it opens on Friday? Has the movie gotten you interested in the music of the Runaways or Joan Jett? Let us know in the comments!
