As Nick Jonas prepares for his debut in “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying,” he’s opening up to The Advocate about his history on Broadway, as well as his future on The Great White Way.

When asked if he’d ever consider going au natural on stage, like his “How To Succeed” predecessor, Daniel Radcliffe, he didn’t completely rule it out. “I love theater and I understand the difference between acting and who you are as a person. I don’t know that it’s something I would’ve done in the end, but I definitely would’ve considered it,” he said laughing. “You have to be open to everything.”

Nick does seem pretty open to a lot of stuff. He says that growing up in Broadway shows has always meant that he’s comfortable around gay people. While he clarifies that none of the JoBros are gay, he adds that they totally love their gay fans. “It was definitely cool when we realized that, because the more you can grow your audience, the more people you can impact. They’ve been incredible over the years,” he said. “My brothers and I totally look forward to meeting them, because they really respond to our style, and it’s cool to see how our influence has impacted what they’re wearing. They also give really good gifts at our meet-and-greets — hats, scarves, and other things. They always have good taste.” Read More...

Justin Bieber

It should come as no surprise that Justin Bieber made bank last year. After all, the teen phenom sold a bunch of albums, turned his concert film “Never Say Never” into a box office smash, launched a bestselling fragrance and filled arenas all over the world with his ongoing “My World” concert tour. That he raked in a staggering $53 million, however, is enough to make every PhD holder in the world weep over their silly decision to major in medicine instead of pop stardom.

(Ed note: How long do you think it will take for a college to offer pop stardom as a major? “Madonna Studies” is already a legit subgenre in many media studies departments and Bowling Green State University will award you a master’s degree in pop culture.)

Bieber wasn’t the only teen star making big money last year. Miley Cyrus came in second to Bieber (but not by much), earning $48 million. Often-shirtless “Twilight” wolf Taylor Lautner cashed checks totaling $16 million, while no-longer-jailbait (ogle accordingly) Nick Jonas did well for himself too, with $12.5 million in earnings. Jayden and Willow Smith added some coin to the family piggy bank too – Jayden made $5 million, and Willow whipped her hair to the tune of a cool $4 million.

How does that stack up against what regular people make? Read on to find out! Read More...

It's all about the actual All-Star Game today, with the big game set to take place in Arizona, but just days ago Nick Jonas had the pleasure of playing in the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, where he threw around the ball alongside celebs and legends like Bernie Williams, Mike Piazza and Ernie Banks.

"I was approached about being a part of the celebrity softball game at All-Star weekend and I'm obviously a huge baseball fan," he told MTV News about the chance to play alongside fellow celebs like Jordin Sparks and Chord Overstreet. "So I'm excited to get my softball in."

You see, the chance to play meant even more for Nick, since his team, The Road Dogs, isn't playing this season. Why? Well, Nick and his famous brothers, Joe and Kevin, aren't touring this summer.

(By the way, we were there with the Road Dogs in '09 and '10.)

"The Road Dogs are on hiatus this year, which makes me sad, but I can still go play some softball with celebrities and All-Stars," he said. "It'll be fun." He later added, "I've watched it every year for 18 years, so I'm excited to see it." Read More...

Nick Jonas

By James Dinh

Attention Lady Gaga fans: there’s a new Little Monster in town, and he goes by the name of Nick Jonas. Yes, the youngest singer/songwriter of the JoBro trio put his paw up for the pop megastar on Friday by covering her latest single, “The Edge Of Glory,” during an acoustic performance in Los Angeles.

Like many of her fan covers that have flooded the world of YouTube, Mother Monster caught wind of the performance and took to Twitter to gush about his rendition. “Swoon! Nick Jonas singing The Edge of Glory … On my way to press conference in Taichung, listening to it. So dreamy! X,” Gaga wrote. Accepting her approval tweet, Jonas replied to the singer, writing “the pleasure is all mine. That is a beautiful song. Keep inspiring the world.”

Now, if Jonas’ Gaga fandom comes as a surprise, then you’re in for a treat, as the MTV Newsroom has decided to take a look back at some other noteworthy Gaga covers from even more friendly faces you might recognize. You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Read More...

On Wednesday (June 8), Nick Jonas showed up on my turf here at the MTV News offices to shed some light on his latest venture, working with Quaker Chewy Superstar Search to find the next big thing. While here, he also chatted with VH1's Jim Shearer during a live stream Q&A session before performing three tracks off his 2010 solo album.

The acoustic set really showed another side of Nick. He was lighthearted, cracked some jokes and charmed the room with his soulful, acoustic pop. A true testament to his musicianship and star power, he managed to turn some non-believers (we know you're out there!) into fans.

What did he dazzle them with? "Rose Garden," a sad track about how hard life can be; "Who I Am," a midtempo tune on which Nick confesses his need to find love; and "Last Time Around," a funky track about remembering a certain love in your life.

After a rousing performance that had everyone in the room swooning, Nick chatted with us about some of his upcoming projects, including that Quaker Chewy contest, where he'll help make a kid between the ages of 8 and 14 star. He also talked about his onstage role in "Hairspray" this summer as well as what's up from him in Musicland. (Check out the video below for more on that!)

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Nick Jonas is best known as one third of the Jonas Brothers and as the frontman of Nick Jonas and the Administration, but he also has a number of philanthropic interests. Nick is a diabetic, and he has worked overtime to raise both money and awareness for diabetes-related research and treatment (especially in children). On Sunday (March 13), the 18-year-old pop star was a guest speaker at the 6th Annual Carnival for a Cure at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. Jonas talked about his struggle with the disease and met with kids who also suffer from it. He was also given a plaque from the Diabetes Research Institute commemorating his hard work towards working for a cure.

He wasn't the only star among the people, as Taylor Momsen ripped through another killer set with her band the Pretty Reckless in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Elton John was seen outside his hotel in New York (he is in town for this weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live," where he'll serve as both the host and the musical guest). Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features over 500 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jay-Z, Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West!

Nick Jonas loves hitting the studio (which he actually calls the "beat lab," one of our favorite facts about him) and working on new music, whether it be for his own solo work, an album with his brothers or something else entirely as a producer or collaborator with other artists. These days, Nick admits, he's flexing his music muscle and working on all different types of science in the beat lab.

"I've been in the studio a lot lately," the 18-year-old star told MTV News in a recent chat. "Basically writing and producing for other people. It's not for me or my brothers right now. Joe is doing a solo record and that's taking up a lot of his time and opened up my ear a lot. It's a big passion of mine [to write and produce]. You come in every day and you don't have a certain thing you're writing for."

So while it seems that Joe is going for more of an electronic sound these days, what kinds of music is Nick experimenting with in the beat lab? "Creating music is probably my favorite part of this whole thing, along with the touring," he told us. "When I come in, I go with whatever feels right, a lot of R&B and pop leaning stuff [but older sounds and] infusing those sounds into pop music because there's no box. I can experiment. I'm really excited about the music."

If you could introduce Nick Jonas to any album, what would you have him listen to? What do you think future Jonas Brothers albums will sound like? Let us know in the comments!

It was unusual enough for three punks from California to turn their music into a splashy Broadway musical, and now the producers of "American Idiot" have managed to kick it up a notch. Starting on Tuesday (September 28th), Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will be assuming the role of St. Jimmy on Broadway. He'll be filling in for star Tony Vincent, who had to take a break to handle a family affair. Fans of both the band and the Great White Way will have until this Sunday (October 3) to check out "American Idiot" starring the show's co-author and musical godfather.

While Armstrong doesn't have any formal acting experience, he certainly has years of experience performing the songs in the show. And who knows? Maybe he'll get bitten by the bug and find himself a solid second career. He'll join the pantheon of the following rock stars who have stepped onto the Broadway stage.

Sebastian Bach
The Skid Row singer had a fruitful career at the end of the hair metal era, racking up big numbers with hits like "Youth Gone Wild" and "18 and Life." His focus turned to acting, where he appeared in shows like "Jekyll & Hyde" and "Jesus Christ Superstar." (He also had a memorable run on "Gilmore Girls" as the singer in a band called Hep Alien.)

Constantine Maroulis
Many "American Idol" veterans have found work on Broadway, though none of them have had as rock-centric an impact as Maroulis. Before his stint on "Idol," Maroulis was the frontman of a hard rock band called Pray for the Soul of Betty. Later, Maroulis found work in "Jesus Christ Superstar" and can currently be seen in the Broadway production of the metal-centric hit "Rock of Ages."

Nick Jonas
The youngest member of the Jonas Brothers went in the opposite direction than the rest of the people here, as he started his performing career in shows like "Beauty and the Beast" and "Les Miserables." Later, he got his brothers together to form a rock band (but has returned to the stage since then, and will perform in London at the concert for the 25th anniversary of "Les Miserables" next month).

Tony Vincent
The guy who normally plays St. Jimmy in "American Idiot" actually has his roots in the rock world. Before finding himself steady work on stage, Vincent released three albums as a solo artist (two of which were put out by major label EMI).

Joey Fatone
OK, so he isn't much of a rock star, but the *NSYNC member has an extensive Broadway resumé, including stints in "Rent" and "Little Shop of Horrors."

It's a big day for birthdays, blues legend B.B. King, actress Alexis Bledel, former Elastica member Justine Frischmann and Hollywood icon Mickey Rourke will all be blowing out candles today. But it's an extra special one for Nick Jonas, who turns 18 years old today. It's remarkable how much the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers (though not the youngest Jonas brother — that's Frankie, aka Bonus Jonas) has accomplished before he is legally allowed to vote. His band has had four hit albums, two television series, a pair of ratings-busting TV movies centered around them, starring in a theatrically-released concert film and have sold out countless arenas around the world. Nick has been particularly busy, as earlier this year he embarked on his first project away from his primary group when he released Who I Am, a record cut with his band the Administration.

In addition to his work in music, television and film, Nick has also been particularly involved in a singular positive cause. He has helped develop the Change for the Children Foundation, a group that seeks to raise funds and awareness for diabetes care and research (Nick has had Type I diabetes since he was 13 and uses an insulin pump to help deal with it). His work with the foundation has brought him everywhere, including the U.S. Senate (where he testified about the condition in order to stimulate more research funding).

Nick's solo debut with the Administration was an excellent effort the was simultaneously more raw and funky than much of the Jonas Brothers' output. The title track was a great burner that makes a great statement for his birthday.

What would you give Nick Jonas for his 18th birthday? Let us know in the comments!

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

On Monday (September 6), most people took the day off to catch the last of the summer sunshine or stockpile some much-needed rest before the school year really kicks into gear. But not the Jonas Brothers (or at least Joe and Nick), who hosted the Joe Jonas iWin 5k Fun Run/Walk on the campus of Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. The run was a fundraising benefit for Special Olympics Florida, and the people who gathered the most donations got some extra-special benefits, including the opportunity to start the run with Joe and a pair of premier seats to the band's concert tonight (September 7) at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.

Nick and Joe weren't the only stars getting out in the open air, as Miley Cyrus was seen frolicking around Paris for scenes for her upcoming film "LOL," and pregnant couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz landed at a helipad in Manhattan. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features nearly 500 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Eminem, Madonna, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Katy Perry, John Mayer, Adam Lambert and Diddy!
