Rock n' roll and Hollywood will soon collide as Keith Richard's autobiography "Life" is reportedly being turned into a feature film. Although Richards claims he isn't in a huge rush to get this project moving, fans and industry buffs can't help but speculate who will play the legendary guitarist of The Rolling Stones. While a few names have been dropped, there is no clear answer to who will take on the challenge of portraying the man once described by journalist Nick Kent as "mad, bad, and dangerous to know."

The role will require great versatility, as the actor will have to portray Richards through the many tumultuous stages of his life, including years spent struggling with drug abuse. While there is plenty of room for opinion and debate over who could capture the notoriety of Keith Richards on the big screen, we thought of a few people who might have what it takes. Read More...

Over the next few weeks, the NCAA men's basketball tournament is going to take up an awful lot of your time, money and useful bandwidth. It will also claim an awful lot of television time, which means that several late night shows will be running on limited schedules. Such is the case with "The Late Show With David Letterman," which will take off Thursday and Friday for the sake of hoops coverage. Luckily, Letterman is cramming in some top-shelf guests in three days, as he'll welcome Charles Barkley (Monday, March 14), Bradley Cooper (Tuesday, March 15) and Selena Gomez (Wednesday, March 15).

"Conan" will also be in reruns this week because TBS will be running NCAA tournament games for the first time. "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" will also be in repeats on Thursday (March 17) and Friday (March 18th), though he'll have on Martha Stewart (Tuesday) and Seth Rogen (Wednesday). And though their networks aren't showing basketball, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Chelsea Handler all decided to take the week off as well.

But that doesn't mean that everybody is slacking. On the contrary, "The Tonight Show" features visits from Jane Lynch and Avril Lavigne (Monday), Rainn Wilson (Thursday) and Robert Pattinson (Friday). Over on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Kimmel will talk to Mila Kunis (Monday), Jane Lynch (Tuesday) and Matthew McConaughey (Thursday). Jimmy Fallon will welcome a handful of heavy hitters, including Tiger Woods (Wednesday) and Howard Stern (Thursday). And in case you missed it, Monday's episode of "The Gayle King Show" is a repeat of King's interview with Lady Gaga, which was typically fascinating.

It's not the first time that the name of one of the hottest young actors in the world has been linked to one of the most iconic musicians of the past 20 years, but it has been brought up again. The Daily Express is reporting that Robert Pattinson (star of the "Twilight" series as well as the upcoming "Water for Elephants") is lobbying hard to play late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley in a biopic about the iconic musician's life (and one of the film's producers has acknowledged that he has indeed expressed interest, along with the likes of James Franco and Jared Leto).

Buckley, who passed away in 1997 before he could complete his second album, is a much-beloved artist whose debut album Grace is largely considered to be one of the finest of the end of the 20th century. His music was full of gorgeous melody and dynamic energy shifts that centered on his incredible, gentle voice. Though 1994's Grace is a stone cold classic as a full album, Buckley's lasting legacy in music is his version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," which has been copied repeatedly and is largely considered the definitive version of the song (even more than Cohen's original).

Pattinson would make an excellent Buckley, as not only does he physically resemble the singer, but he also possesses the same kind of ethereal vibe that Buckley carried. His popularity was mainly rooted in his music, but he also had a mysterious quality that made him a fascinating character. Can Pattinson sing as well as Buckley? There's no evidence to suggest that he can. However, it seems like the man who breathed life into Edward Cullen can handle the moody, romantic vibe that Buckley gave off. Take a look at this performance of "Forget Her" (recorded during the Grace sessions but not released until 2004) and see if you can't picture Pattinson sliding into that role.

Of course, the other named mentioned on the short list for the role would probably work well also, though everybody else seems to be flawed in some way. Franco has probably played too many iconic roles to play Buckley (he's created so many great fictional characters that it'd be hard to accept him as playing a real person) and James Marsden (of "X-Men" fame) doesn't have that same air of mystery. Leto would probably be a good choice, as he has the musical chops to go with his left-field approach to performances.

Mark Zuckerberg may be Time's "Person of the Year," but there's a whole generation of 20-somethings setting the world on fire, proving that with youth comes the nerve and the energy to take the world by storm. Like Zuckerberg, other members of his generation are living by the code that the world is their oyster. As a person in her mid-20s, I have to give a shout out to the kids of my generation who are pounding the pavement day after day and living the dream.

(Click here for more photos of the hottest 20-somethings in the game, including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Robert Pattinson and LeBron James!)

A big shout out to Rihanna, who dominated the charts this year, looked her demons in the face through song and constantly set fashion trends. She even almost convinced me that dying my hair red would be a good idea.

Also I'm gonna give props to Katy Perry, who redefined herself as a legitimate pop star. Known as just the girl who kissed another girl two years ago, her ode to her home state launched her to the top of the charts and she's never looked back.

Drake, who also happened to be MTV News' #4 Man of the Year, went from Canadian teen actor to legitimate MC, breaking through to mainstream success and causing mass hysteria in the process. Just don't book this guy for a gig at the South Street Seaport anytime soon, OK?

At 25, LeBron James had every team in the NBA vying for his attention, but he also provided a lightning rod for controversy after he left Cleveland behind for the big money and prestige of the Miami Heat. Even if the only thing you know about sports is that Lamar Odom is married to Khloe Kardashian (like I do), you still have an opinion about James.

MTV News' #5 Woman of the Year Nicki Minaj is fierce, tough and well-respected by some of the toughest males in the rap game. She also had one of the most killer guest verses of the year on Kanye's "Monster."

(Click here for more photos of the hottest 20-somethings in the game, including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Robert Pattinson and LeBron James!)

Robert Pattinson is the leading male in the hottest movie franchise of the last three years. He also happens to be dating Kristen Stewart. You can't deny that starring in "Twilight" has made him into hot Hollywood property.

Lea Michele just got nominated for a Golden Globe thanks to "Glee," and while the fierce New York native may have started on the Great White Way, her musical chops have turned her into a Hollywood favorite.

Lady Gaga just turned 24, but she's managed to have a career that feels decades long. She's a musical artist who also has changed the scope of red carpet fashions, music videos and just how extreme pop stars should take their personas in their off time. Oh yeah, she also wore a meat dress. Not a bad run.

Every morning, MTV News delivers the top news stories in music, movies and pop culture hot and fresh for your reading and watching pleasure. We then bring together a trio of the biggest headlines for "Three to See," the daily digest of the top stories making noise on our site and across the Internet. This morning, stories on Robert Pattinson's appearance on "Nightline," Sam Raimi's latest directing gig and former "American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe's criticisms of his old show lead the way.

Robert Pattinson Talks Sexiness, Valium On "Nightline"
With the build-up to the release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" in full swing, series star Robert Pattinson was the featured guest on Monday night's (June 14) episode of ABC's "Nightline." The actor talked about his character's relative absence from the second film (2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon"), the way the films handle sexuality compared to the vampires on "True Blood" and his unusual approach to auditioning for the first film. "Twenty minutes before I had to leave [for the audition], I suddenly started panicking," he said. "Luckily, the person I was staying with had enough Valium on their bedside table. I stole it. Probably one of the best decisions I've ever made."

Sam Raimi Named Director Of "Oz" Prequel
"Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi has signed on to direct "Oz: The Great and the Powerful," a prequel to the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz." The film is set to star Robert Downey, Jr. as the titular character.

Nigel Lythgoe Slams Ninth Season Of "American Idol"
In an interview with The Canadian Press, former "American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe criticized the recently-completed season of "American Idol." The "So You Think You Can Dance" judge said that the show had a weak lineup of contestants and felt the show focused too much on the judges themselves. He also said that the producers shouldn't bother replacing Simon Cowell now that he has departed. "It's never been my opinion that four judges work on that program because it should be about the talent," Lythgoe said.

"In six months I went from hosting 'The Tonight Show' to performing at a refugee camp," Conan O'Brien joked to the sweaty hordes gathered in the comedy tent for the once-and-future late night host's 90-minute set at this past weekend's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. As O'Brien laid the groundwork for his new show with his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour in preparation for his return to TV this November on TBS, the rest of the late night world has been mostly in cruise control, owing mostly to the fact that it's the summer and people like to take a break. But there also may be a bit of burn out from the constant fireworks during the early part of 2010, when late night hosts were all taking jabs at each other in the spirit of competition. Since then, it has been relatively low-key. After all, when was the last time Jay Leno did something notable?

That could change this week. "The Tonight Show" has the potential to grab headlines, as Leno has a list of eclectic and unpredictable guests paying visits to his studio. Most notably, he'll have on a handful of stars from the upcoming film "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," including Ashley Greene (Monday, June 14) and Robert Pattinson (Tuesday, June 15). He'll also welcome stars from "Grown Ups," including Rob Schneider (Wednesday, June 16) and David Spade (Friday, June 18). On the music front, he'll have Travie McCoy on Tuesday and Kelis on Friday, which will make for a week full of tough, funky jams — not a typical sight on "The Tonight Show."

David Letterman seems to be catering to a slightly older audience this week, as he'll welcome Helen Mirren and Cyndi Lauper on Monday (not together, we assume) and Katie Couric and Devo on Tuesday (again, probably not together). Miley Cyrus will grace the couch on Thursday, June 17 to talk about her new album Can't Be Tamed. "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" also seems to be gunning for an older demographic, as he'll welcome Don Rickles and Ozzy Osbourne on Tuesday (one of his few new shows this week). For youth, you have to turn to Jimmy Fallon, who will have on Broken Social Scene (Tuesday), the Gaslight Anthem (Wednesday) and Blitzen Trapper (Thursday).

But once again, the "Something for Everyone" award goes to "Live! With Regis and Kelly." On Friday, the show will feature both Miley Cyrus and Devo, bridging the gap between old and new like nobody else will this week.

"I did ballet when I was 10. Then I realized that I was a guy, and I was the only guy in the class. When you're the only guy in your black leotard and your black jeans dancing to the 'Batman' theme tune, when everyone else is doing proper ballet, it only lasts so long. You can't really go past 10!"

-"Twilight" star and international heartthrob Robert Pattinson, talking to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about his early years as a dancer. While sitting on the couch as a guest on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday (May 19), Pattinson discussed the upcoming surefire hit "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," his new hair style and his universal nervousness during interviews. "I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you're saying. I've always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth," Pattinson told DeGeneres. "Being spontaneous, or just thinking. Thinking in general. Thinking in real time."

As for his hair, Pattinson joked, "I got a terrible infestation of nits, and I had to shave it all off." Luckily, the teen dream isn't actually suffering from a breakout of head lice. Rather, he cut it for a new role in an upcoming film called "Water for Elephants," which is based on a book about a college dropout who joins the circus and co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz.

The interview ended with a game DeGeneres called "Pattin' Pattinson," where a girl from the audience put on a blindfold and tried to tell which be-robed man was Pattinson based on how his body felt. (She failed.) In the meantime, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hits theaters on June 30.

"When I first read the script, it seemed so much a part of it. As soon as I read it, I felt immediately connected to it. If it was edited down in any way, I don't think it would be the same thing. I always feel there's some kind of power to the script. I wanted to keep that in the movie."

-"Remember Me" star Robert Pattinson, speaking to MTV News about the somewhat controversial and certainly surprising ending of his latest film (which opened on Friday, March 12). In the film, Pattinson's character brushes up against a significant historical event in a sequence that had to be handled with the utmost sensitivity — an attitude shared by all the participants in the movie.

"I had some concern about the portion of this film that is a bit of a surprise and I hoped that it would be handled tastefully — as tastefully as it could be," actor Chris Cooper, who plays the father of the woman Pattison's character falls for, told MTV News. "I must say after I saw it, I don't know how you could handle it anymore tastefully but still get the idea across of the loss. I think the strongest thing in the film is the idea of loss."

Director Allen Coulter concurred. "The fact is that, from the very beginning, this is a story about what we call 'the bolt from the blue' — the unexpected event that alters the trajectory of your life. We start with a very personal story, and as the story unfolds that very notion is enlarged upon and goes from the personal to the universal. We felt we were trying to humanize that kind of event."

Less than a month ago, Neil Young took the stage of "The Tonight Show" to perform "Long May You Run" to help send off departing host Conan O'Brien. At Sunday night's (February 28) Winter Olympics closing ceremony, Young again performed "Long May You Run" on NBC, which is somewhat poetic given that Monday night (March 1) marks the return of Jay Leno as the host of "The Tonight Show." Leno's comeback has brought out the best in the late night performers, as not only is his show stacked with top-shelf guests, but David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are all back with new episodes and great lineups.

Let's start with "The Tonight Show." Monday night's show is a little weak (Jamie Foxx and Olympian Lindsey Vonn are on), but things really get going on Tuesday (March 2) with Sarah Palin, gold medalist Shaun White and Adam Lambert. Wednesday (March 3) features the cast of "Jersey Shore" and Avril Lavigne, while Thursday (March 4) will have Brett Favre. Leno finishes off the week on Friday (March 5), featuring Morgan Freeman and Meredith Vieira.

Over on current ratings champ "The Late Show with David Letterman," Monday features Bill Murray and Ludacris. On Tuesday, Letterman welcomes Mitt Romney, while Wednesday features Jerry Seinfeld. Thursday will have Tom Hanks and Spoon, while Friday will have Matt Damon. That's a pretty killer lineup that should make for an interesting toe-to-toe between rivals Letterman and Leno.

Leno's return could really provide a boost to Jimmy Fallon, whose show also has a big week ahead. It kicks off on Monday night with "Remember Me" heartthrob Robert Pattinson. Fallon will also jaw with Wesley Snipes on Tuesday and Zach Galifianakis on Thursday. Fallon's show always features excellent music, and this week's is no exception, as Ludacris and Silversun Pickups will both play sets on the show. Even Carson Daly has a high-powered set of shows this week, with Phoenix on Tuesday and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner on Wednesday.

Jimmy Kimmel will talk to Anne Hathaway on Tuesday, Ethan Hawke on Wednesday and Queen Latifah on Thursday. In perhaps the week's most intriguing match-up, Robert Pattinson will be a guest on "The Daily Show" on Tuesday. (Pattinson will also visit with the ladies of "The View" on Tuesday, which should be a whole different ball of wax.)

Call it an MTV News trend. Everybody wants to look like those crazy "Jersey Shore" kids. Seriously. It all started when Snooki paid a holiday visit to the Newsroom and bestowed a gift of some severely poofy hair on one of our staffers. As Snickers said as she sprayed, combed and sculpted our co-worker's 'do, "You have to tease the sh-t out of it!"

Days later, plus-sized "Saturday Night Live" jokester Bobby Moynihan donned a wig and an ornamental accent to embody Snooki during a truly amazing "Weekend Update" bit. "Oh, you want to touch my poof?" he asked a rather frightened-looking Seth Meyers. "You can call me Garfield, because I'm orange and I love lasagna!"

Cut to earlier this week, when everyone's favorite emo A-lister, Michael Cera, convinced the "Shore" crew to guido-ify him as part of his PR efforts for his new flick, "Youth in Revolt." DJ Pauly D gelled up Cera's mop until he was looking like Yahoo Serious and J-WOWW spackled on the makeup until the actor glowed like an orange sunset over the polluted skies of Seaside Heights.

As we watched Cera pump his fist and boogey alongside his new peeps, we had a thought: MTV must share the love. Thus we give you the "Jersey Shore"-ification of some of your favorite stars. Doesn't the Jersey-bred Nick Jonas make a convincing Vinny?
