Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Sure, Katy Perry has been hanging out with Russell Brand at Fashion Week in Paris, but some stars have work to attend to. Take Shia LaBeouf, who was at the Central Park Zoo yesterday. But he wasn't there to wave to the polar bears or pet a snow leopard. Rather, he was there working with Michael Douglas on the set of "Wall Street 2," the sequel to Oliver Stone's sequel to his own 1987 film that originally starred Douglas, Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen. The movie, which is subtitled "Money Never Sleeps," is expected to hit theaters some time in 2010 and will feature a musical score care of Police drummer Stewart Copeland.
LaBeouf and Douglas weren't the only people putting in time yesterday, as actress Teri Hatcher was spotted on the side of the road shooting an episode of "Desperate Housewives" and Vince Vaughn stopped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" to plug his new film "Couples Retreat." Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted!" archive, which includes over 300 candid shots of Britney Spears, Madonna, the Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake and the casts of "New Moon" and "Gossip Girl!"

When we caught up with indie rapper Cage and his buddy Shia LaBeouf, they were holed up in a Hollywood edit bay, working on the music video that Shia had just directed. The song, "I Never Knew You," mirrors the turbulent past that Cage faced growing up — a past that includes physical abuse, addiction and institutionalization, which he reflects on in his music.
"Everything is from personal experience," Cage told us. "It's depression, heartache, falling on your face, getting up, falling down again — just like a lot of common stuff people go through.

Disney star Selena Gomez has long been rumored to be dating Nick Jonas, but just because she's already ordered doesn't mean she can't continue to check out the menu. And the dish that Selena has her eyes on these days is none other than former Disney-star-turned-action-stud Shia LaBeouf.
Selena has been talking up her crush on the 22-year-old star of such flicks as "Transformers" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Last week, the 16-year-old said she'd love to get Shia to make a cameo on her Disney series, "Wizards of Waverly Place." "I've had a crush on him ever since he was on 'Even Stevens,' " Gomez says in the upcoming issue of TV Guide. "It's very far-fetched, but I would love to have Shia on 'Wizards.' " Read more...
More than two months after the accident in Hollywood that landed him in the hospital with a crushed hand, Shia LaBeouf has finally broken his silence on the incident. In his first interview since the crash, the "Transformers" star told "Entertainment Tonight" on Monday that it was "eye-opening and terrifying." He also talked about how he's adjusted to his rapid rise to fame in recent years, saying he's "trying to figure out how to be edible to a lot of people." Hmm. Ketchup?

It's probably not much consolation to Shia LaBeouf and his crushed hand, but the man who owns the car that police say caused the actor's July 27 accident has been charged with failing to stop at a red light. Simon Herbert, 21, was hit with the charge last Friday.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) may have asked Shia LaBeouf to man up and get ignition locks following his misdemeanor DUI citation in Sunday's Los Angeles car crash, but according to a report, the actor has done at least one thing right already. An eyewitness said that despite being encouraged to flee the scene of the crash by the person whose car he hit, LaBeouf insisted on hanging in and taking his punishment.

In an unfortunately timed coincidence, the forthcoming September issue of Details magazine features an interview with "Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf in which he discusses tossing back drinks and having smokes with his dad. In it, he admits that "I don't know how to have one drink." The actor is still recovering from a weekend DUI incident in which he seriously injured his hand, though his passenger, "Transformers" co-star Isabel Lucas, was not injured in the wreck.

So the whole entire world is gagga for "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Evil-Encrusted Nazi Loot That Will Eat Your Heart." I mean, Shia LaBeouf's in it! Or he's not. Wait, he totally is! And Harrison Ford is probably old enough to still be okay pulling off those boulder-jumping stunts. We hope. Well, Calista Flockhart thinks so.
Anywho, because they are so in the know -- and because they have nothing else to do but obsess about these things -- the Movies team has handed over a track-by-track psychoanalysis of the soon-to-be blockbuster's soundtrack. It's a pretty informed (and slightly insane) play-by-play prediction of how the film unfolds, based on the John Williams score. Everything from grave-robbing to scorpions and, of course, snakes.
