Wyclef

To celebrate June as Black Music Month, iTunes and Apple will host performances by black artists at Apple Stores around the country. Wyclef Jean, Talib Kweli, David Banner, Michelle Williams, and a slew of others will be getting in on the action.

Now if only they would offer up a few of those mysterious new iPhones for free too, we'd be totally hooked.

· Great news! Robotic dance gods Daft Punk are in a Paris studio cooking up some new beats.

· Just weeks after three NYPD detectives were acquitted in the shooting of New Yorker Sean Bell, Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Cassidy, and Styles P have all contributed to the track “Stand Up (A Sean Bell Tribute).”

· The latest Rolling Stone counts down the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time. Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” is #1; Nirvana's “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is at #10; and the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop” is at #18.

· Coldplay’s new single, “Violet Hill,” will soon join the “Guitar Hero” repertoire. Hmm, not much shredding to be had there.
