It's time for a confession – we're just not that into "Twilight." It's not that we're haters or anything; it's just that it's not our scene. We like our vampires dark and scary not teenaged and angsty. That said, we're totally into Kristen Stewart and wish the series well.

So we're a bit distressed to hear that our girl Kristen gets chewed up – literally! – in "Breaking Dawn – Part 1." When we heard that Robert Pattinson's Edward is forced to quite literally chew a fetus out of Bella when a scalpel can't penetrate the placenta, we freaked out a little bit. That sounds insane!

In honor of this horrendous sequence, our pals at MTV Movies rounded up the 10 most gruesome birth scenes in film. Get a taste after the jump and visit MTV Movies Blog for the full list! Read More...

Bruno Mars

Yesterday, the track listing for the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1" was revealed and now everyone is buzzing about Bruno Mars' hot new song for the franchise, "It Will Rain."

"Rain" is the perfect soundtrack song – a big, sweeping ballad co-written and co-produced by Mars' team, the Smeezingtons – and seems an ideal fit for "Breaking Dawn." And it got us thinking about our favorite soundtrack tunes. When a one-off tune from one of our favorite artists is tied to a movie you, it's the icing on a very tasty cake.

After the jump, a rundown of some of our favorite soundtrack tunes. We tried to stay away from musicals – with the exception of "Moulin Rouge" – because that's whole different can of worms, and we aimed for songs that we felt really belonged in the movies in which they appear.

When the members of Sleater-Kinney decided to go their separate ways back in 2006, drummer Janet Weiss and guitarist/singer Carrie Brownstein each seemed to immediately get involved in new projects. But singer/guitarist Corin Tucker took some time off to be a mother and gather her wits after nearly 15 years of solid rocking. While she never stopped writing, it took her a few years before she committed anything to tape and got back into the groove of playing with a live band. She recently got a band together (Sara Lund from Unwound and Golden Bears' Seth Lorinczi) and released 1,000 Years under the no-frills moniker the Corin Tucker Band.

The result is an amazing collection of incredibly dynamic rock songs, many of which deal with domestic issues, the current economic downturn and the distance between people. But there's at least one song on the album — the spare, lovely "Miles Away" — that was inspired by much-beloved "Twilight" heroine Bella Swan.

"I'm a really big fan of the 'Twilight' books, and Lauren Ross from Kill Rock Stars said 'I'm going to pitch to the music supervisor who works on those films, and if you have anything let me know because they're working on the soundtrack to 'New Moon,'" Tucker recalled during a conversation with MTV News. "I thought about the character of Bella, of this teenage girl who is sort of isolated and lost, and she really goes through this time of being by herself and being really unhappy and not knowing where she wants to go. And then on her own, she kind of comes back to herself. She kind of reawakens. She decides that she's gonna start riding motorcycles and doing all this stuff and connecting with other people. I really identified with being a young woman and sort of coming into your own, so that was a theme I thought could come out on this record."

Tucker also said that she was attracted to the character's strength, which has come to life in the film series through breakout actress Kristen Stewart. "I would argue that Bella has a lot of strengths, but she's very feminine," she said. "She's not this buff physically strong woman, but she has a lot of emotional strength, a lot of mental strength and a lot of wisdom that she brings to relationships."

The rest of the songs on 1,000 Years are full of that same kind of power, sensitivity and angst, and they are expressed both quietly ("It's Always Summer") and loudly ("Doubt"). The centerpiece of the album is "Thrift Store Coats," which is about a number of people in Tucker's community in Portland, Oregon who have been suffering through the recession. It's all extremely satisfying, and though Tucker hasn't committed to anything more than the end of her tour (which finishes up on Friday), it bodes well for her continued output in the music world.

"I'm not sure how cool it is to be on those kind of things, but sometimes you've just got to get your music out there in different ways. It's very difficult in America, because you don't have anything like Radio 1, nothing is national. You have to take every opportunity you get over there, and sometimes you have to sell your soul."

-Muse bass player Chris Wolstenholme, commenting to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat column about his band's involvement in the soundtracks to the films in the "Twilight" series (notably the most recent blockbuster, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"). Wolstenholme's band has appeared on all three soundtracks, but on "Eclipse," they had the lead single (the epic "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)"). Based on Wolstenholme's experiences, he not only is concerned about the perception of being associated with the "Twilight" films but he also had something of a negative experience working with the makers of the films.

"When we were in the studio writing it, one minute they said they wanted to use it in the end credits, then they said they wanted to use it in another scene," Wolstenholme explained to the BBC. "Then it was another scene, and in the end, we were like, 'Do what you want with it, we don't care any more.'"

"Twilight" creator Stephenie Meyer has often cited Muse as one of her favorite musical acts, which is why they are the only band to have appeared on all three soundtracks. After delaying a tour because of the birth of Wolstenholme's first child, Muse will be back in the United States in September for another tour in support of their 2009 album Resistance.

It has been 222 days since the release of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon." That's a long time to wait for a continuation of the story of the most epic supernatural love triangle in cinema, but that's how long fans of the "Twilight" series had to wait before getting the opportunity to check out "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." But that day is finally here, which means you now have the opportunity to check out the latest chapters in the saga of Bella, Edward and Jacob.

The real hardcore fans checked out the movie at midnight, but if you're heading out tonight (or perhaps going a second time), you may want to spend a few minutes with the video playlist below. It'll get you in exactly the mood you need to be in to tackle the tale of vampires, werewolves, forbidden love and battles between beasties. There's a healthy dose of songs about vampires (Sparks the Rescue's "We Love Like Vampires," Hollywood Undead's "Undead"), werewolves (TV on the Radio's "Wolf Like Me") and darkness (Owl City's "Vanilla Twilight," Len's "Steal My Sunshine," Arctic Monkeys' "When the Sun Goes Down"). There's also one song devoted to the newly introduced vampire army (Beck's "The New Pollution") as well as a tune that is one there because these movies look so incredibly blue (Jay-Z's "Blue Magic"). You can also stick around for three of the singles from past soundtracks to the "Twilight" films: Paramore's "Decode," Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" and Muse's "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)."

But we kick things off with Coheed and Cambria, who deliver a rocking anthem that could stand as the definition of this particular movie season: "Blood Red Summer."

Unless you've witnessed the sheer madness of a World Cup game in the flesh or visited a soccer-mad country like Brazil or England in the thick of the world's premier sporting event, you really can't comprehend just how huge the next month is going to be.

Here's a statistic that might put it in perspective: 700 million. That's the number of people who tuned in just for the final match between Italy and France in 2006. Not only is that twice the population of the United Staes, it's also a number that is infinitely bigger than any other pop culture phenomenon you think is a big deal.

Need some more perspective? Let's look at some recent big numbers and see if we can't crush them.

13.5 million: The amount of people who watched the "Lost" finale. Frankly, there's no comparison, since even the biggest finale in TV history — that would be the 1983 "M*A*S*H" send-off — only drew 122 million.

100 million: Sorry, Twi-hards, but while the "Twilight" series is seemingly the biggest thing on the planet, the estimated sales figures for the books are chump change compared to the number of people who want to watch Kaka.

190 million: If you took the more than $1.9 billion in box office put up by "Avatar" and assumed the average person paid $10 to see the world's most successful movie ... well, you get the picture.

Katy Perry Says "California Gurls" Is A Tribute To Big Star

By Justin Chon

Hello. This is Justin Chon from "The Twilight Saga" (you may know me better as Eric). MTV invited to interview Muse and hang back stage at KROQ's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas concert. It was my first time being backstage at any concert, so I was extremely excited to see what it was all about. I have to say that I haven't had that much fun in a long long time.

I left my place at around 7 p.m. and headed over the the Gibson Amphitheater. When I got there, I was able to park in the VIP area because I was with the one and only MTV.

Once I got to the event, it was absolute mayhem. There were so many people in the backstage reception area. Famous people were just perusing about like nobody's business. I met up with the MTV crew and we started our little adventure. I saw my friend Joe Hahn from Linkin Park. Right away had a little problem because he heard me mention my favorite band was Muse. (I settled it by saying they were my second-favorite.)

Once we got inside, I was able to interview people like Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin from "Superbad"), Dr. Drew, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41 and a bunch of others. However, the fun really didn't start until I went back to where the band dressing rooms were. I ended up taking shots with Slightly Stoopid and hanging with the members of Phoenix. Chris from Vampire Weekend came up to me and asked, "Are you that guy from 'Twilight?'" and I said yes. He then said "Let's take a picture." I was like, "What?! You're the rock star!"

Later, I got to catch 311 and, at long last, Muse's performance. They were absolutely amazing. After their set, I went backstage and there was a whole mess of people outside the dressing room trying to get a chance to talk or take a picture with them. But of course because I was with MTV, I got full access to the band and interviewed them. I was a little nervous before I went in but I did my tantric breathing and ended up being fine.

The interview went smooth as butter. After the interview was over I took a picture with them and tried not to look too excited. All in all, it was a night I won't soon forget.

Even though there was big money moved around at a Michael Jackson auction and plenty of people are buzzing about last night's American Music Awards, the weekend was really about one story. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" stormed into theaters just after midnight last Thursday (November 19) and racked up massive numbers care of some devoted fans, who nursed the film to the third biggest film opening of all time (though still falling $18 million short of the impressive tally brought in by "The Dark Knight" last year). There's no doubt that the "New Moon" stars are everywhere, from our talk shows to our meals at Burger King to our local Volvo dealer.

In fact, there are plenty of places where "New Moon" characters have shown up that you might have missed. For instance, when Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed "Empire State of Mind" at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, everybody remembers Lil Mama crashing the stage and posing alongside the two stars. But did you notice that Caius (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) also got in on the action? Take a look.

MTV News' resident photo expert Sohyung Kang has combed through the archives and unearthed a number of revelatory shots that show the "New Moon" characters dropping into the most unlikely of scenarios. Which of the "New Moon" crew was spotted cruising around with Kristin Cavallari? Which character did a sexy dance at the Teen Choice Awards? Which one snuck into an episode of "Glee"? Which one infiltrated one of Michael Jackson's most famous album covers? Click here to see all of your favorite "New Moon" characters — including Bella, Edward, Jacob, Jasper, Rosalie and Esme — sneaking into all corners of pop culture!
